Based on the book by James Patterson and Chris Tebbetts, Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life is the next in the line of films featuring kids taking control of their world.
Rafe (Griffin Gluck) is heading into middle school, and he finds himself in the world of Principal Dwight (Andy Daly), who runs a tight ship, and has an overabundance of rules. Rafe and his friends put together a plan to break every rule Principal Dwight has, but he has to keep his plans, and rule-breaking, from his mom (Lauren Graham).
While this one looks like a lot of fun for younger audiences, its success probably rests on Daly’s shoulders, and he’s a great choice for the role. The “bad guy” in such a film can easily go too cartoony, and though Daly could probably aim for that if he wanted to, his work on things...

Spoiler alert: Stop reading if you don't want to know who met the True Death last night! The July 1 episode of True Blood ended with Sookie's (Anna Paquin) loveless dry spell coming to an end, but not everyone on the show got so lucky. Chancellor Alexander suffered the True Death after he was found to be a traitor of the Authority, and HollywoodLife.com chatted with Jacob Hopkins — who isn't actually allowed to watch the show, by the way — for the scoop on his character's very messy demise. "I was pretty surprised," he told me. "I didn't know [Alexander] was going to be Sanguinista. It was shocking." Jacob said the actual staking scene was "pretty cool," and any fears he may have had were quelled by a very hands-on Christopher Meloni. "Chris likes to tell people what he's going to do," Jacob explained. "He told me he was going to grab...

In a good horror story, viewers are always surprised by who the real villain is. It is when monsters do not look like monsters that we are simultaneously horrified and curious. Preying our how our eyes fool us into believing that a young child is nothing to be afraid of, True Blood has introduced the diabolical Alexander Drew, a vampire who only looks so innocent and sweet. In a recent exclusive interview, young star Jacob Hopkins shared what he enjoys about playing the monster behind the eyes of a child.
How exciting is it to work on True Blood?
Jacob: You know, I’ve never seen the show because it’s for an older audience. So I didn’t know how it would go, but to tell you the truth, it is really fun. There’s the fangs, and they are better than the plastic ones. They are way cool.

Earlier this month, I spoke to Jacob Hopkins about his upcoming role on True Blood Season 5. There was just one problem:
I had to wait until after the actor was finished with school first.
Yes, Hopkins is only nine years old. But don't let his age fool you: you aren't gonna wanna mess with his character of Alexander Drew, an Authority member Hopkins describes as a "troublemaker."
"He's impetuous and he likes to taunt others," Hopkins told me over the phone. "He was turned when I was nine, so he's been around for awhile. He may look young, but that's deceiving."
Look for Alexander to play a key role in the power struggle that will erupt this summer between Authority members.
"The fundamentalist vampires believe humans are just a source of food," the young actor says, adding that he's on the side of mainstreamers, those who see potential in mankind beyond their nutritional value.

Ever since he was announced to have been cast in True Blood’s upcoming Season 5, I’ve been dying to see Chris Meloni as a new vampire, hanging out with the likes of Spartacus’ Peter Mensah. Back in February it was reports that Jacob Hopkins (Priest) had landed the recurring role as the final member of "True Blood"s highest vampire governing body, the Vampire Authority. Hopkins plays "Alexander Drew," one of the Authority's chancellors who was turned to darkness at the age of 9-years-old. Alexander is described as an impetuous vamp who likes to taunt those around him. Carolyn Hennesy will fill the final vacancy on the Authority. HBO’s True Blood cast is getting younger! The American television series which was created and produced by Alan Ball has just cast the final member of True Blood’s highest vampire governing body, the Vampire Authority, or “The Authority” as it is so lovingly referred to by the vampires in Bon Temps.
The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that child actor Jacob Hopkins will join the True Blood cast playing the role of Alexander Drew, a Chancellor of the vampire governing body. Drew who is described as an impetuous vampire who likes to taunt those around him, was turned at the tender age of 9. I guess this is a vampire that Sookie won’t get to sleep with.

True Blood has cast its youngest, and perhaps creepiest, vampire.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jacob Hopkins has landed the role of Alexander Drew, a member of The Authority who was turned at the age of nine.
Hopkins - who has appeared on an episode of How I Met Your Mother - joins Christopher Meloni, Peter Mensah, and Carolyn Hennesy on the Authority. They're expected to play key season five roles this summer, going up against Eric and Bill.

I admit, one of the more interesting pilots to me is Last Resort, about a nuclear sub that refuses a sketchy order, takes over a listening station and declares itself the world's smallest nuclear power, with 24 warheads. Add to that concept hunky Scott Speedman, and you have my attention, Hollywood.
The big news of the day seems to be conservative Arizona Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu coming out when confronted with accusations he threatened his long term illegal boyfriend with deportation after they broke up. I don't know much about Babeu's history beyond his ridiculously harsh immigration policies (which seem hypocritical if he was boning an undocumented immigrant Note: Updated terminologyfor years), so I'll let Chris Geidner take over.
Of course, in hypocrisy races, conservative Houston radio host Michael Berry was inside a gay bar during a drag show when he was spotted leaving and committing a hit-and-run, according to eyewitnesses of the accident.

The youngest (looking) member of the Vampire Authority has just been cast in "True Blood," according to the THR. Jacob Hopkins will play Authority chancellor Alexander Drew, who was turned at the age of nine. As we know from "Interview with a Vampire," undead children are not a good thing.
The report states that Alexander is a vampire who likes to stir things up by baiting others. Yeah, sounds like a typical nine-year-old. It will be interesting to see if vampires retain the traits of the age they were turned, despite the number of years that they've been around.
Hopkins has appeared in the film "Priest" with Stephen Moyer (Bill), as well as making an appearance on "How I Met Your Mother." We're so excited for this season, especially because everyone cast so far has been a vampire and not a zombie. We were starting to worry that they'd be...

He may just be the creepiest member of "True Blood"s Vampire Authority -- because he looks harmless, but is quite the opposite. The Hollywood Reporter has learned that young Jacob Hopkins (Priest) has landed the recurring role as the final member of "True Blood"s highest vampire governing body, the Vampire Authority. Hopkins plays "Alexander Drew," one of the Authority's chancellors who was turned to darkness at the age of 9-years-old. Alexander is described as an impetuous vamp who likes to taunt those around him. In addition "General Hospital" and "Cougar Town" actress Carolyn Hennesy will fill the final vacancy on the Authority. Season 5 is currently in production and premieres this summer on HBO.
