Six years after busting out of Guantanamo Bay, stoner buddies Harold Lee (John Cho) and Kumar Patel (Kal Penn) cause a festive ruckus by inadvertently burning down Harold's father-in-law's prize Christmas tree. But things have changed: Harold is now a hotshot corporate banker with a palatial gaffe and a sexy trophy wife. He’s also outgrown his pothead pal Kumar, who is still in search of the perfect high.

Bestest pals Harold Lee (John Cho) and Kumar Patel (Kal Penn) — and, er, their buddy Neil Patrick Harris (played by Neil Patrick Harris) — have been through a lot together, but one thing that’s always gotten them through it? Their cigarette lighter. Well, not really, but when you grab “Harold & Kumar Ultimate Collector’s Edition” from the racks this Christmas, you’ll be getting a lighter-shaped case that holds the BFFs’ three movies. And no, I don’t know what the whole significance of a cigarette lighter is. I guess it’s a warning against starting fires or some such. Probably. The “highly flammable 3-movie set” includes all three movies in the series (so far) — 2004′s “Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle”, 2008′s “Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay”, and 2011′s “A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas”. You also get coasters and a trio of air fresheners to hang, well,...

Remember when American Pie first came out, and people couldn't get enough of "It" girls Mena Suvari, Shannon Elizabeth and Tara Reid? Thirteen years later, those three lovely ladies have largely fallen off the map (unless you count Reid's frequent mentions in gossip mags for her, um, unusual antics). Meanwhile, endearing nerd Alyson Hannigan has been steadily building a rather impressive career to become, arguably, the most successful of all the American Pie alum.
Hannigan had already built up a loyal fan base when Pie came out in 1999, thanks to her role as Buffy's trusty sidekick Willow on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She showed fans a completely different side of her as the sex-crazed band geek Michelle in American Pie. (Shy Willow would never throw herself at Jason Biggs like that!)

Chicago – It might seem silly to buy a Christmas movie in February but “A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas” is not your typical holiday flick. And Warner Bros. wisely recognizes that these movies have never done well in theaters but dominate on the home market. In fact, “Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle” barely made a dent at the box office but was such a huge hit on the home market that it spawned two sequels. It would be easy to say that it’s less risky to get stoned to your favorite pot comedy on your couch but the fact is that these movies tap a young audience that likes to watch them over and over again. And, much to my surprise, the third film in this unlikely franchise shows no sign of a dip in quality. I’d even welcome a fourth.

Laurel and Hardy. Cheech and Chong. Harold and Kumar? Well sure, with a couple of more movies under their belts and maybe a decade or two of totin’ on the big screen, the boys may eventually get there. They already have two films under their belts, and who thought they’d have more than one? I certainly didn’t, which just goes to show you how much I know. The boys (and Neil Patrick Harris as Neil Patrick Harris) return for a third outing in “A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas”, due out on DVD and Blu-ray February 7th, 2012 from New Line Home Video. Following years of growing apart, Harold Lee (Cho) and Kumar Patel (Penn) have replaced each other with new friends and are preparing for their respective Yuletide celebrations. Warner Bros has cannily entered two horses in the Christmas box-office stakes this year, both set in New York but each aimed at a different audience demographic: the inoffensively tasteful New Year's Eve, and this outrageously tasteless third film in the series featuring the accident-prone, spliff-smoking Asian-American friends. In their first scatological movie the pair got into trouble searching for grass and a perfect hamburger in New Jersey, and back in 2005 I wrote of finding it "curiously endearing thanks to the performances of John Cho as the shy Korean-American investment banker Harold Lee and Kal Penn as the laidback Indian-American medical student Kumar Patel". In the second one, which I didn't see but which is said to be infinitely more raunchy than its predecessor, they're mistaken by homeland security for terrorists. This new one turns upon the couple's Christmas Eve hunt for a tree to placate Harold's fearsome Hispanic in-laws,...

It was very interesting meeting John Cho and Kal Penn together, the actors behind the hit franchise, "A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas." I've interviewed Cho before for "Star Trek" but he was much more ebullient for the bromantic/stoner film. And of course, Penn has made news lately for famously ditching showbiz for 2 years so he could work for the White House. More power to him! ("A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas" Movie Review)
In this interview, we talked about:
*** What interested them to reunite for the third installment?
*** The film is naughty and nice!
*** It's interesting that the "Harold & Kumar" is the first franchise to feature non-Caucasian or non-African-American actors
*** The Wafflebot!
*** Was it shot in sequence? The actors did not reunite until weeks after the shoot!
*** Cho revealed that the first week of rehearsal did not gel for him
*** Since "Guantanamo Bay," Cho moved on to star...

I wasn't much of a fan of Neil Patrick Harris, well okay, for "Doogie Howser, M.D." yeah, but meeting the actor has changed my mind. Besides his super-funny turn in "A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas," he was also very sweet in person.
In the film, he plays himself or his acronym Nph, he's a straight actor playing gay for his career and to get girls. The horror! ("A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas" Movie Review)

*** How did the "Harold & Kumar" series help his career?

*** According to the movie, he's not gay! Gasp!
*** What did he think of the funny twist given to his character?
*** Best munchie ever!
*** What's next for Nph?
Have Fun!

Tom Lennon of "Reno 911" fame has been a busy bee. Besides scriptwriting (he wrote the "Night at the Museum" movies), he also stars in movies such as the upcoming "A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas." In the film, he plays Harold's new friend, Todd, who's a straight-laced father. He and his baby nearly stole the film! ("A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas" Movie Review)

Oh holiday movie season, why are you so transcendently cool?
This is the time of year when the studios forget about the explosions-per-minute ratio of their blockbusters and unleash more artistic properties in the hope of snagging an Oscar or two. Don't worry, though -- there will still be plenty of speaker-shattering gunshot action and crotch-kickingly hilarious sight gags to pass the hours away with your loved ones.
Enjoy our selection of the prime cuts -- this season's biggest and best holiday movies.

It's been a while since we've seen Eddie Murphy in rare form, but that's what this film is promising us as the one-time king of comedy teams with the architect of Chris Tucker's career, director Brett Ratner. Originally conceived as an all-star African-American "Ocean's 11," it's now a blue-collar heist picture with Ben Stiller leading the pack, accompanied by partner-in-crime Murphy...

What better way to enter the holiday season then with a murdered, foul mouth Santa, a crack addicted baby, and getting hand jobs in heaven?
The Harold and Kumar series has been world reknowned for its nonstop crudeness, lewdness, and multiple cases of full frontal…err, nudeness. But this…this is just awful. I mean, I can’t name any other type of movie that features Jesus calling God because Neil Patrick Harris is getting down with some chicks in his nightclub. Just writing that sentence means I’m probably going to hell! But whatever the case, it works. I’ve always been a fan of Harold and Kumar’s, mad cap, insane sense of humor, and I’m more than happy to see the two characters make a proper return. After the disappointment that was Guantanamo Bay, I hope A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas will restore the franchise to its former glory.

Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema have released a new rude and extremely crude, red-band trailer for A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas, which once again stars John Cho and Kal Penn as the eponymous characters, along with Neil Patrick Harris who’s “character” it seems has returned from the dead to appear in the film which is released in the Us on November 4th 2011.

But when a mysterious package mistakenly arrives at Kumar’s door on Christmas Eve, his attempt to redirect it to Harold’s house ends with the “high grade” contents – and Harold’s father-in-law’s prize Christmas tree – going up in smoke.

Babies on drugs and claymation wangs? According to the new red-band trailer, “A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas” does in fact have a little bit of everything. In addition to multiple—yes, multiple—scenes of a baby high in illegal narcotics, the third installment of this slap-happy, pot-smoking franchise features naked breasts, Santa Claus, partying, violence, and, of course, a hand job in heaven. In short, it looks completely, utterly ridiculous, but what else would you expect from a film series that prominently features two stoners riding a cheetah? And did I mention RZA in a Cosby sweater? That’s just icing on the cake. After years of growing apart, Harold Lee (John Cho) and Kumar Patel (Kal Penn) have replaced each other with new friends and are preparing for their respective Yuletide celebrations. But when a mysterious package mistakenly arrives at Kumar’s door on Christmas Eve, his attempt...

Santa getting high than shot down from the sky, a claymation penis, Neil Patrick Harris eating out a woman on stage then getting a handjob in heaven, naked nuns and priest molestation jokes, a baby taking cocaine and marijuana; this is only a small portion of the insanity found in the latest and greatest red band trailer for A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas.
Director Todd Strauss-Schulson has helmed this third iteration which sees John Cho and Kal Penn returning, with newcomers Patton Oswalt, Elias Koteas and Thomas Lennon. It seems a little too soon to get into the Christmas spirit, but I would much rather do it via this film than any family friendly adventure. Check out the raunchy red band trailer below via IGN.

The two existing Harold & Kumar movies have gone a long way towards keeping raunchy, healthy R-rated humor alive over the past few years. The third one, A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas, seems to be operating on the principle that you can get away with just about anything, so long as it is all wrapped up in a big holiday bow. The first trailer [1] made the third film look mildly manic and possibly funny. This new red-band trailer (which is very Nsfw) makes it look straight-up wrong. Which is as it should be. Thank IGN [2] for the trailer. Kal Penn and John Cho return as the title characters (heroes?); Neil Patrick Harris is back as someone's fantasy version of Neil Patrick Harris, and Patton Oswalt, Thomas Lennon, Danny Trejo, Eddie Kaye Thomas, David Krumholtz, and Elias Koteas all have roles. H&K creators Jon Hurwitz & Hayden Schlossberg wrote, and Todd Strauss-Schulson directed.
