Upload starring Robbie Amell will have one more season to delve into its virtual reality afterlife world. Prime Video’s officially given the sci-fi comedy an order for a fourth and final season.
“When I conceived Upload many years ago, I had the story arced out over four seasons, so I am thrilled to make the ending the fans deserve and the characters and creative team have been working towards,” said series creator, writer, showrunner, and executive producer Greg Daniels (The Office). “Jen Salke and Vernon Sanders have been our Angels and they deserve 5 stars.”
In addition to Amell as Nathan, season three starred Andy Allo as Nora, Kevin Bigley as Luke, Allegra Edwards as Ingrid, Zainab Johnson as Aleesha, and Owen Daniels as A.I. Guy. Howard Klein and Jeff Blitz serve as executive producers.

Prime Video is headed back to Lakeview one more time. The Amazon streamer has picked up a fourth season of Upload, which will be the final chapter for the high-concept comedy series created and executive produced by Greg Daniels. The renewal of the Amazon MGM Studios-produced show, starring Robbie Amell and Andy Allo, comes three months after the Season 3 finale was released Nov. 10.
Upload is a sci-fi comedy which feels less and less sci-fi with each season as rapidly advancing real-life technology is starting to catch up in areas like self-driving cars and AI assistants. The show, which blends sci-fi with romantic comedy, is set in a technologically advanced future where holographic phones, self-driving vehicles, AI assistance, and 3D food printers are the norm. And instead of dying, people can be “uploaded” to a virtual reality afterlife, enjoying all the comforts of a world-class resort at a top-of-the-line place...

The entirety of “Upload” Season 3 is now streaming on Amazon’s Prime Video and, like the seasons before it, it ends on a pretty big cliffhanger. But with two strikes this year heavily impacting future projects, the question is, will the series get a chance to resolve it? Well, series creator Greg Daniels is feeling pretty good about their chances.
“I’m super optimistic about it,” he told TheWrap. “You know, we are the number one half-hour on the platform, and I think we do a good job in terms of bang for the buck. So I would bet on the fact that there’d be another season. I don’t want to jinx it, obviously. But certainly, we were writing it that way.”
Given the intricate nature of the show, with so many mysteries and intertwining plotlines, Daniels noted that he and his team “want the opportunity to craft a good ending for it.

The season three finale of Amazon Prime Video’s “Upload” is upon us, and it’s time for the Lakeview crew to go a bit rogue. But before they’re willing to help Nora’s Horizen angel pal Aleesha out, they have some demands.
In TheWrap’s exclusive sneak peek of the episode, Aleesha (Zainab Johnson) recruits Luke (Kevin Bigley), Tinsley (Mackenzie Cardwell) and of course, the ever helpful AI Guy (Owen Daniels) to assist with a “risky” plan — one “that could possibly get you in trouble.” It’s unclear what that plan is, but given Aleesha’s efforts to help Nora (Andy Allo) during her brief imprisonment, hopefully she’s helping once more.
You can watch TheWrap’s exclusive sneak peek of the episode in the video above.
That said, both Tinsley and the AI bellhop have some demands. First and foremost, AI Guy wants some jeans.

[This story contains spoilers for Upload season three, episode five, “Rescue Mission.”]
For Dave Rogers’ turn in the season three Upload directors chair, it was all about perspective.
The episode sees downloaded Nathan (Robbie Amell) and backup Nathan meeting for the first time in the Gray Zone, the duo working together to get Luke (Kevin Bigley) out of prison in the Gray Zone following a failed attempt at selling an AI Guy (Owen Daniels) for extra cash. “Rescue Mission” also predominantly features a new (and endearing) turn in AI Guy’s testing, helmed by Aleesha (Zainab Johnson).
Meanwhile, Ingrid (Allegra Edwards) is once again battling her insecurities as she reunites with old — and shallow — friends during a VR workout class. And Nora (Andy Allo) finds herself juggling her and backup Nathan’s feelings, while trying to uncover why her real Nathan was “given over the counter fart pills” to stop his head from exploiding on his downloaded body.

The outside world isn't nearly as fascinating as the shenanigans in Lakeview.
But there are some interesting dynamics to explore in the real world, particularly as Nathan and Nora's relationship thrives to the delight of 'shippers everywhere.
Of course, there's a pressing matter regarding the ticking time bomb of Nathan's health that still looms over everything.
But one of the most entertaining aspects of Upload Season 3 Episode 3 was spending a holiday with all these fun characters.

The sci-fi-rom-com series ‘Upload’ has now been renewed for a Season 3, with a new trailer just being uploaded. The new season of the popular sci-fi-rom-com series finds itself on a dramatic turn as AI collides with real life, as the AI generated Nathan tries to have a real life with his service handler Nora.
The trailer for ‘Upload’ has a very deceivingly standard American rom-com tone, and to the average person it will look like just another sit-com like ‘Friends’ or ‘How I Met Your Mother’. But ‘Upload’ has been very different conceptually.
For the unversed, ‘Upload’ is a sci-fi comedy series set in a distant future where death is not permanent, as the deceased can ‘upload’ their consciousness into a digital avatar in a digital afterlife, enjoying all the comforts of a new AI life called Lakeview, provided they can afford it.

At the end of “Upload” season 2, things looked very good for Nathan (Robbie Amell). Having finally escaped from the virtual afterlife known as Lakeview by downloading himself into a clone body, he seemed bound for Irl relationship bliss with Nora (Andy Allo). Yay! Except uh oh, his nose started bleeding — which means the download is going to fail.

For the fans of ‘Upload’, there is good news as those waiting for Season 3 of the sci-fi comedy series won’t have to wait long; it will premiere on October 20, 2023. The show has released its official first-look images for its new outing. The series will pick up the threads of Season 2 and will explore new character arcs and story lines.
Set in the not-too-distant future, ‘Upload’ imagines a world in which death isn’t the end of consciousness. Instead, people can choose to “upload” themselves to a digital afterlife where they can continue living on, including maintaining contact with their loved ones and enjoying all the amenities the digital afterlife offers. Of course, the fee for that is exorbitantly high.
‘Upload’ Season 3 picks back up with Nora and freshly downloaded Nathan as they navigate their relationship, while racing to stop the mysterious Freeyond conspiracy that threatens to destroy millions of lives.

Well, this is some exciting TV news.
Prime Video has announced Upload Season 3 will finally premiere Friday, October 20, 2023.
In a shift from the rollout strategy the first two seasons used, two episodes will be available weekly.
That means you'll have to wait a month longer if you plan on binging, but seriously, more shows should adopt the weekly strategy.
The binge is good at the time, but then the conversation is over in one fell swoop.
There's plenty of fun in store for fans of the hit comedy series.

Amazon Prime Video's "Upload" is a multi-genre series that blends science fiction with comedy, romance, and the supernatural. Set against the background of the afterlife, the show tells the story of a man who dies and is uploaded to a "digital afterlife program." After Nathan's (Robbie Amell) untimely death in a tragic accident, his consciousness is uploaded into an after-death virtual living facility called Lakeview. The romance between Nathan and Nora (Andy Allo), the living customer service angel he interacts with through his hologram form, also makes the crux of the story. The futuristic society functions with complicated, advanced technology at the center and comes from Emmy-winning writer Greg Daniels, who is known for his creative work on popular comedies such as "The Office," "Parks and Recreation," and "King Of The Hill."
The show's first two seasons are currently streaming on Prime Video, and "Upload" has been renewed for a third season.

In 2020, Greg Daniels brought together a project he had the idea for back in his days at Saturday Night Live. It started with the simple question: What if we could digitize ourselves? Years later, it became the sci-fi comedy drama known as Upload, which Amazon Prime Video has just been renewed for a third season.
Upload’s Season 2 finale, “Download,” is the latest installment of It Starts On the Page, Deadline’s annual series that highlights the scripts that serve as the creative backbones of the buzzy shows that will define the now-underway TV awards season. The scripts in our series are all being submitted for Emmy Awards consideration this year and have been selected by Deadline using criteria that includes critical acclaim, selecting from a wide range of networks and platforms, and a mix of established and lesser-known shows.

TV Fanatic was invited to the virtual press day for Prime Video's Upload Season 2.
We got time with the creator and the stars to break down all of the excitement coming our way.
Believe me; you are going to want to set aside time on March 11 to let the story unfold as an immersive experience.
When we talked with the creator, Greg Daniels, we wondered what plans he had to make the second season as delightful as the first.
It turns out that he had a lot of irons in the fire.
He had an urge to keep expanding the world, bringing in new characters and new challenges for the existing characters.
He also explains how imperative it is for the mystery aspect to remain intact, such as Nathan's search for his murderer.
Find out everything he has to say with the video below.

PBS and Wgbh’s Masterpiece released the trailer for the highly anticipated second season of “Sanditon” on Thursday. Inspired by Jane Austen’s unfinished novel, the historical drama tells the story of Charlotte Heywood, a high-spirited young woman who happens upon the seaside town of Sanditon during a time of social change, and becomes intrigued by the town’s inhabitants and their secrets.
The first season of the fan-favorite British series ended on a giant cliffhanger in early 2020, and having been canceled in the UK by ITV, it wasn’t clear if anything would ever be resolved.
