"If you knew what I knew, would you stop me...?" Vertical has revealed an official trailer for a crime thriller revenge film titled The Bastard Sons, arriving to watch on VOD this week. If anyone cares to watch. The film marks the feature directorial debut of actor / writer Kevin Interdonato, who stars in, co-wrote, and produced this film in addition to directing. A misfit crew of small-town gangsters in New Jerseey enact brutal vengeance after an inside job ends in the murder of the head of their crime family, their Boss. They wage a brutal war to regain control of the business and get their pound of flesh. Kevin Interdonato stars along with Charles Malik Whitfield, Frankie Edgar, Joseph Sernio, and Kirk Ponton. This looks as mediocre as any movie can, featuring bad cinematography and even worse performances spun around a plot we've seen 100 times before. Cutting a silent trailer...

If the Ufc wants to repeat similar success they’re going to have to stack this card in much the same way, but the problem is many of their top names are either inactive or unavailable for the show. Featherweight champion and current #1 star Conor McGregor has been very vocal about his desire to compete at the event, and it looks like he’ll be getting his wish.

Next Sunday night (yes, Sunday, head-to-head with NFL football), the Mma world will learn the future of the Ufc’s featherweight division. With a win, Ireland’s Conor “The Notorious” McGregor will cash his ticket to a fight with champion Jose Aldo for what could be the best-selling featherweight Mma bout of all time.
It’s a remarkable turnaround for a division that has struggled at the box office over the years.
In an era where it’s claimed that the lower weight classes don’t sell, McGregor is either seen as a trash-talking anomaly, or the sign of things to come as the division matures and draws more focus to itself, just as the lightweight division did before it.
Now featuring the likes of Aldo, McGregor, Chad Mendes, Frankie Edgar, Dennis Bermudez, and others, the featherweight division is extremely competitive, and that’s not going to change any time soon.

Lost in the busy schedule in the Mma world last weekend was the fact that there was a pretty huge non-title fight on the horizon. Well, the dust has settled, and it’s time to take a look at Ufc Fight Night 57, otherwise known as Ufc Fight Night: Edgar vs. Swanson.
Frankie Edgar is probably one of the best pound-for-pound fighters currently in the Ufc who doesn’t hold a championship of his own. The former lightweight champion had his title stolen by the judges almost as much as Benson Henderson back in 2012, and after dropping a rematch and moving to featherweight, he lost another close decision to Jose Aldo. Since then, however, he’s on a two-fight win streak, and could easily derail the Cub Swanson express.
Swanson, meanwhile, has won six straight at featherweight, and has been told by Dana White he’ll get the next crack...

After their fight was postponed in August, the long awaited rematch is finally here. Jose Aldo looks to continue his dominant title reign against Chad Mendes. The back-story is well documented by now from Ufc 142. The fight consisted of Mendes closing the distance at will and not allowing Aldo to get into a striking rhythm. Eventually, Aldo shook Mendes takedown attempts off through some technique and also grabbing the fence. The flash knockout occurred seconds later from Aldo spinning and landing a spectacular front knee. It was the only loss in Mendes’ career and I believe he’ll avenge that loss here.
While he remains as one of the best pound for pound fighters in the world, Aldo has looked rather lethargic in recent fights. You still see his world class striking and movement that give his opponents nightmares. What we don’t see is the aggressiveness or killer instinct...

Another season of Tuf has come and gone – where do we go from here?
It wasn’t the storybook ending B.J. Penn, or Ufc fans in general, might have hoped for The Prodigy. Even if you aren’t a Penn fan, you have to respect a guy who is one of only two fighters to hold belts in multiple weight classes, and who fought above his natural weight for a large part of his career.
Most of us, however, were suspect when Penn announced that he wanted to fight a third time against the man who took his lightweight title. Was he motivated? Could he beat Frankie Edgar now, years after the first two losses? Could he make the featherweight limit? Would he keep his power? Did he feel he had found a weakness in Edgar? Should he even be in the cage at this point?...

It was a busy weekend in Ufc-land, with two events hosted down in Las Vegas. Saturday’s Ufc 175 has been well-covered, but looming in the shadows on Sunday was The Ultimate Fighter 19 finale.
Tuf 19: Team Edgar vs. Team Penn is probably notorious more for what didn’t happen than what did. The fights simply weren’t there for the first half of the season. It was so bad that Ufc President Dana White publicly stated that it was the “worst” season they had filmed so far.
Was it a sign that the talent pool was simply getting too thin, with two seasons of Tuf per year and many fighters bypassing Tuf and singing directly with the Ufc? Were fighters simply playing it safe, as some coaches have advised in the past, to ensure a shot at victory?
Whatever the reason, there were very few breakout stars. Cathal Pendered...

Bj Penn announced his retirement from professional mixed martial arts on Sunday after losing to Frankie Edgar at “The Ultimate Fighter” finale.
Bj Penn Ends Career With Loss To Frankie Edgar
Penn, 35, joined the Ufc in May 2001 and won his first Ufc championship in 2003. He would go on to win one more, becoming one of only two fighters in Ufc history to win two Ufc titles in two different weight classes. The skilled fighter faced opponents at featherweight, lightweight, welterweight and middleweight, earning championships as lightweight and welterweight. He also fought as a heavyweight against Lyoto Machida.
On Sunday, Penn got in the ring for one final fight with Frankie Edgar – Penn had lost to Edgar twice before – and suffered a crushing third-round Tko loss. This had been Penn’s first fight since 2012, when he lost to Rory MacDonald.

The Ufc has announced on Twitter today two huge match-ups to the upcoming Ufc on Fox 7 card on April 20, 2013 in San Jose, California.
The first is a thrilling unification match for the Ufc and Strikeforce Lightweight championships between the Ufc’s champion Benson Henderson (18-2) and the newly incoming Strikeforce champion Gilbert Melendez (21-2). Bendo is currently the #1 ranked Lw in the world with Gilbert Melendez ranked #2 as Frankie Edgar (14-3-1) departs the division to face Jose Aldo (21-1) at Featherweight. Even more enticing is that both fighters are ranked on the P4P list, as well. Benson is ranked #5 and Melendez is #8.
Joining them on this card is the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix winner and former Olympic wrestler, Daniel Cormier (11-0), facing off against former Ufc Champion and submission specialist Frank Mir (16-6). Daniel Cormier is one of the fastest rising stars in mixed martial arts after crushing...

Ufc on Fox: Henderson vs. Diaz is clearly the best Fox from top to bottom card thus far offered up by Joe Silva and the Ufc. To be sure, the dreaded injury bug has inevitably hit – canceling some fights and shuffling the undercard, but the matches on the main card have remained largely unaffected. Dana White can un-pucker. Barring any last minute drama, this one is going to be a winner.
Lightweight Champion Benson Henderson (#1) makes his second title defense against red hot Nate Diaz (#5) after dethroning and defending against newly christened featherweight contender, Frankie Edgar. The rest of the main card features Shogun Rua (#4) against Alexander Gustafsson (#7) , an un-retired Bj Penn against rising star Rory MacDonald, and finally injury-free Mick Swick against Matt Brown.
Don’t sleep through the under card, either. There are some really important fights in shaping the title picture for their respective division as well...

So a Featherweight wins in impressive fashion and nobody cares; Matt Hammill and Roger Hollett clearly shouldn’t be fighting on the main card of a Pay Per View; Michael Bisping is still a World Class Middleweight; Two little guys fight back and forth for five rounds to crown a World Champion and fans boo; Jon Jones remains the greatest fighter on the planet. Ufc 152 is done and dusted and not a great deal has changed.
Not withstanding the fact that we do have that new Champion to talk about – Demetrious Johnson outpointing Joseph Benavidez – and the fact that Vitor Belfort came closer than anyone else in the Ufc to beating Jon Jones despite the eventually one-sided main event. Now, what next? Another Flyweight World Title bout, a Middleweight contender’s bout, and a Superfight between the two best in the World? Here’s the eight bouts the Ufc need...

The Ufc returns to Fox on Saturday with a main card that is sure to please. The main event sees Lightweight contenders Nate Diaz and Jim Miller squaring off with the winner likely to get a shot at the Ufc lightweight title. Elsewhere on the card Johny Hendricks faces perennial welterweight contender Josh Koscheck, Alan Belcher faces Jiu-Jitsu phenom Rousimar Palhares and heavyweights Pat Barry and Lavar Johnson square off.
Pat Barry v Lavar Johnson
The main card looks set to start with a bang. Barry, a vicious kickboxer, has 6 knockouts from his 7 wins while Johnson, a heavy handed brawler, has 14 knockouts from 16 wins. Both men like to stand and bang and this is undoubtedly a firm candidate for the Knockout of the Night honours. To put it simply someone is getting put to sleep. Blink and you might miss it.
Prediction: This one really could go either way but...

The Ufc's Ultimate Fighter (Tuf) reality TV series returned to our screens last Friday night, but arrived with a twist -- as well as the fastest knockout in its history, at just eight seconds. While the show carried the same format and dangled the same prize at the end of it all, the action was, for the first time, live and pretty much uninterrupted and the season will, in time, be far more interactive than ever before, offering fight fans the opportunity to participate and dictate the fates of those inside the house.
A runaway success since its inception in 2005, this latest tweaking should ensure it remains as such, following the odd hit-and-miss season of late. With change comes a period for reflection, however, and now seems as good a time as any to remember and highlight some of the show's very best success stories, if only to provide inspiration...
