A coming-of-age drama about artists, Blue Period has become one of the most popular seinen titles of the modern era. Written and illustrated by Tsubasa Yamaguchi, the manga has been published since 2017 and there are 15 collected volumes as of the time of writing. A 12-episode anime adaptation premiered in 2021 and was also a hit, although no official confirmation of a second season has been made since then. But, we do have other great news, as Warner Bros. Japan has just announced that a live-action Blue Period movie is premiering this year in Japanese cinemas.
The movie was announced just today in Japan, and Warner Bros. has confirmed that the movie will be released on August 9, 2024 in Japanese theaters. It is unknown whether the movie will have an international distribution or not.
On top of that, an official teaser trailer highlighting some of the scenes, as well as the actors was released.

"Humans are no longer at the top of the food chain." A new Us trailer has arrived online for the Japanese live-action adaptation of the manga series Tokyo Ghoul, which already opened in theaters in Japan back in July. The story is about a Tokyo college student who is attacked by a ghoul, a superpowered human who feeds on human flesh. He then discovers there's an entire race of ghouls and becomes a fugitive on the run, the "one and only existence who knows the two worlds." Starring Yû Aoi, Masataka Kubota, Shun'ya Shiraishi, Nozomi Sasaki, Fumika Shimizu, Yô Ôizumi, and others. One of the quotes in this trailer claims the film is the "best live-action anime adaptation to date." Not sure if that's true but it's worth a look. Here's the official Us trailer (+ poster) for Kentarô Hagiwara's Tokyo Ghoul, direct from YouTube: Human and ghoul. The one...

Fruitvale tells the story of Grant’s last 24 hours alive, as he attempts to become a better father, a better boyfriend, and a better son and friend. “It’s about human beings and how we treat each other,” said Coogler, “how we treat people that...
