Chloe Bennet has been making a name for herself in the acting world, from seven successful seasons as Quake, on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to voice acting in Abominable, the first animation film in 21 years to star an Asian female character and a fully Asian family since Mulan. Her recent role on Fxx’s Dave has shown more of her down-to-earth personality as his main love interest, Robyn. We spoke with her about working with her close friend, Dave Burd, the importance of representation on-screen, and what’s next for her in her career. Many probably know you from Marvel with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and of course now with Dave — tell me a little bit how your friend asked you or convinced you to join the cast. Chloe Bennet: I’ve been friends with Dave for a while and was pretty aware of the character. And I think there’s definitely...

Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry has announced a new solo album, Sweetzerland Manifesto Mkii, the follow-up to the first Sweetzerland Manifesto released back in 2018.
Ahead of the new album’s May 26th release date, Perry also shared the lead single “Fortunate One” featuring The Black Crowes’ Chris Robinson. The rollicking blues rocker is tangental to Robinson’s longtime band and solo work, and he sounds right at home over Perry’s licks and solos. Stone Temple Pilots bassist Robert Deleo also plays on “Fortunate One,” continuing the Sweetzerland Manifesto tradition of Perry bringing in guest singers and musicians.
“I’m really excited to get this song out — it hadn’t been written when the first version of Sweetzerland Manifesto was released,” Perry commented via a press release. “My old friend Chris Robinson from the Black Crowes sang on it, he knocked it outta the park! We started it in L.A.

Before Disney+ and Kevin Feige brought television series into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" was a fan-favorite network television underdog. Born out of 2012's "The Avengers," the show followed a team of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents assembled by a newly not-dead Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg). Thanks to a strong fanbase, "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." survived cancellation multiple times with rallying cries on social media like #CoulsonLives and #SaveAgentsOfSHIELD.
"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." had a rough start, but then "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" hit theaters, revealing the McU's biggest twist thus far. Since S.H.I.E.L.D.'s inception, Hydra had moles on the inside. The show's story exploded from there, exploring how these street-level agents grapple with the aftermath. What started as a seemingly typical network "villain of the week" formula became a great companion piece to the movies. As the seasons progressed, the...

The CW has found its three leads for its upcoming live-action reboot of “The Powerpuff Girls.”
From Warner Bros. Television, the new version of the beloved Cartoon Network series created by Craig McCracken follows heroines Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup as “disillusioned twentysomethings who resent having lost their childhood to crime-fighting. Will they agree to reunite now that the world needs them more than ever?”
Chloe Bennet will play Blossom, Dove Cameron is Bubbles and Yana Perrault is Buttercup. Blossom is described as “a spunky, conscientious, Little-Miss-Perfect child who holds several advanced degrees. Blossom’s repressed kiddie-superhero trauma has left her feeling anxious and reclusive, and she aims to become a leader again — this time on her own terms.”
Cameron’s “sweet-girl” Bubbles “still sparkles as an adult, but her charming exterior belies an unexpected toughness and wit. She’s initially more interested in recapturing her fame than saving the world,...

The live-action “Powerpuff Girls” pilot at The CW has found its three leads, with Chloe Bennet, Dove Cameron, and Yana Perrault all joining the show.
The “Powerpuff Girls” live-action series was first announced as being in development back in August. Based on the Cartoon Network series created by Craig McCracken, the new series sees the pint-sized superheroes as disillusioned twentysomethings who resent having lost their childhood to crime fighting. Will they agree to reunite now that the world needs them more than ever?
Bennet has been cast as Blossom, Cameron has been cast as Bubbles, and Perrault has been cast as Buttercup. The pilot reunites Bennet and Camerson, though this time they will play allies instead of enemies. Both previously appeared in the ABC-Marvel series “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D,” in which Bennet’s character and Cameron’s fought against each other.

Kevin Feige made it perfectly clear that none of the previous Marvel TV shows are regarded as official canon anymore, which presented more problems for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. than the rest of the studio’s small screen output. After all, the series was only created following the success of The Avengers, starred recurring character Phil Coulson in the lead and featured numerous cameos across the seven seasons from familiar faces like Peggy Carter, Lady Sif, Maria Hill and even Nick Fury.
In an effort to distance itself from the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s official timeline, the final season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. introduced the idea of alternate realities into the mix, offering a suitable conclusion where none of the show’s events have been disregarded but they’re no longer directly connected to the movies, either.

This article contains Agents of Shield spoilers.
One of the main mysteries in the first season of Agents of Shield was the identity of Daisy Johnson’s parents, only back then Chloe Bennet’s character was known as Skye. Eventually, the show introduced us to her father Cal who led her to her mother Jiaying and the transformative Terrigenesis process that gave Quake her powers. With the Inhuman storylines that followed, Daisy’s journey remained at the heart of the series for several seasons. So how did we not know that she had a sister named Kora?
In the season 7 episode, “After, Before,” the team visits 1983 as part of its jaunt through Shield history, and Agents May and Rodriguez revisit Afterlife, the hidden community of Inhumans overseen by the ageless Jiaying that Agents of Shield explored five seasons ago. Agents of Shield Season 7 Episode 6
Failure is such a powerful narrative tool, mostly because viewers don’t expect things to go so spectacularly wrong even when the heroes are technically winning. Such is the case with this week’s Agents of Shield which has Daisy barely escaping with her life and Coulson sacrificing himself, achieving measures of success indirectly despite heavy losses. Even Mack foiling the Chronicom’s infiltration by jettisoning his fake parents is a victory of sorts even though the supposed rescue mission itself was an obvious bust. Such stories make for the perfect season midpoints as the characters face the most overwhelming odds yet, framing what will presumably be their seemingly impossible comeback in the back half.
At first, the Mackenzie family reunion seemed too easy, and Yoyo warning the director that he was walking into a trap by...

In the latest trailer for Agents of Shield season 7, we definitely get a fuller sense of how the Chronicoms will be able to infiltrate the human population of Earth’s past, but the bigger bombshell in the most recent promo actually comes from a brief conversation between Daisy and the recently activated Coulson Lmd. Dressed in spectacular period wear from the 1930s, Daisy asks, “So you’re saying to save Shield…” and Coulson finishes the thought, “We have to save Hydra!” It’s a classic snake-eating-its-own-tail scenario that seems to suggest that the team that has perhaps suffered the most at Hydra’s hands will have to be instrumental in making sure that painful bit of history is preserved.

Kamala Khan will become part of the McU with a Ms. Marvel TV series on Disney+. She's a perfect fit for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
A Ms. Marvel TV series is coming to streaming service Disney+, based on the Hugo-award winning and critically acclaimed comic book series of the same name. The first Muslim superhero to headline her own series for Marvel, Ms. Marvel has already made it to the small screen as part of the Marvel Rising animated series, but this will be her first foray into live action.
Created by writer G. Willow Wilson, editors Sana Amanat and Stephen Wacker, and artists Adrian Alphona and Jamie McKelvie, Ms. Marvel is Kamala Khan, a nerdy Muslim Pakistani-American teenager living in Jersey City who gained powers after coming into contact with Terrigen Mist. Descended from Inhumans, the mist unlocked her ability to shapeshift, like Daisy/Quake on Agents of Shield.

Does Agents of Shield season 6 address Avengers: Endgame? Or does it ignore it altogether?
This article contains spoilers for Agents of Shield season 6 episode 1 and Avengers: Endgame. We have a spoiler-free review of the season premiere here.
Marvel’s Agents of Shield is back at a time where the Marvel Cinematic Universe couldn’t be hotter. We just came off Avengers: Endgame and find ourselves in a vastly different McU than where the season 5 finale left us last year. You might think telling stories during and after Thanos’s snap and after Tony Stark’s sacrifice would make for some truly great Marvel story fodder. But not so fast, True Believer.
The season 5 finale of Agents of Shield did briefly address Thanos and his armada invading earth. Of course, Coulson, Quake, and the rest were too busy solving their own chronal problems to really focus on Thanos...

To be fair, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Phil Coulson has never been much of a name-dropper — in fact, through five seasons he proved to be downright modest about hanging with the Avengers prior to the Battle of New York. (R.I.P, if only for a bit.)
Still, there were a few times during his stint as S.H.I.E.L.D. Director that Coulson realistically would have related his and Nick Fury’s 1990s run-in with Carol Danvers (played by...

Ever since the season 5 finale, fans have been wondering whether we’ve truly seen the end of Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., as the last time we saw him he had just weeks to live. Now, the first trailer for season 6 has finally arrived and looks to answer the question, though it brings up a whole lot more, as it seems that we may have seen the last of Coulson on the show…but not Clark Gregg.
The 75-second teaser has Mack (Henry Simmons) take over as the new leader of the team, with a hologram of Coulson offering words of encouragement. Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) then explains that she was with him right to the end. So, in case we weren’t clear on it, he really is dead.

The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will have mourned Phil Coulson well by the time Season 6 arrives this summer.
Or have reports of the Director’s death been greatly exaggerated…?
The first trailer for Season 6 of the ABC series starts off by setting a somber tone, by checking in on Melinda May (played by Ming-Na Wen) in the not-so-immediate wake of Phil (Clark Gregg) succumbing to his fatal condition, while declaring “Agent Coulson Is Dead” in big, sad letters.
We see Mac (Henry Simmons) doing his best to fill such sizeable shoes as S.H.I.E.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was just announced to be getting a seventh season, but before that happens we’ve still got season 6 to look forward to this coming summer. Filming began back in July and finally, we’ve now got our first official glimpse at the new look that one of the gang will be sporting in the next run: Chloe Bennet’s Daisy “Quake” Johnson.
The actress took to social media to share two promo shots of herself as Quake, complete with a new blonde ‘do and revamped costume – notice the use of the gauntlets which help her control her powers. That suggests the recent upgrade she got from the Centipede Serum will leave her needing to get the hang of her increased abilities.
“New exclusive Quake look,” she said in her caption, “Come at me bad guys.”

On Iron Fist Season 2 Episode 10, Colleen takes her rightful place as the Iron Fist and everyone forges new beginnings.
The ten-episode season has finally drawn to a close, and boy, a lot happened in the last episode.
The new showrunner M. Raven Metzner finally proved that he and Marvel were, in fact, willing to take an extremely drastic deviation from the comics and essentially retcon Colleen to be a descendant of Iron Fist.
A move of this scale is unprecedented in the Marvel television world, even with the retconning in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. with Skye becoming Quake.
This is virtually changing the landscape of the Iron Fist world as we know it. The Iron Fist is no longer the male-dominated, potentially appropriative cultural icon that the comics make it out to be.
With Colleen being the first descendant of the original Iron Fist, the show essentially retconned the Iron Fist mythology back to being Asian.

During QuakeCon 2018 we had the chance to talk with Joseph Boyle, Community Manager of Quake Champions about the game and how it's evolved over the last couple years.
As we see in the name of the convention, Quake is a huge part of QuakeCon every year. During the event, it was announced that Quake Champions is now Free-to-play forever! This is huge for gamers who like to grind their way to unlocks, but what does it mean for the game as a whole? Find out in our interview:
Quake Champions is now permanently Free To Play! Download Quake Champions in Early Access on the Bethesda.net Launcher or Steam! Experience the latest evolution of the fastest, frag-tastic skill-based series that defined competitive First Person Shooters!

Things got a bit hairy when TVLine invited Chloe Bennet to talk about Season 6 of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which just started filming but won’t premiere until next summer.
Bennet stopped by TVLine’s Comic-Con video suite with Marvel Rising co-star Kamil McFadden to talk about their animated incarnations of a young Quake and Patriot. In the upcoming Disney Xd project, teenage Quake is “more spunky,” Bennet says, offering a fun “hybrid” of the Skye/Daisy/Quakes we have come to know over the years on S.H.I.E.L.D.

Another season, another big bad defeated.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 5 saw Phil Coulson’s crew face one of their toughest challenges yet in the form of Glenn Talbot Aka the supervillain Graviton. It turned out that he was the prophesied “Destroyer of Worlds” who was at risk of bringing about the Earth’s doom – before Avengers: Infinity War‘s Thanos got the chance to do so himself. However, our heroes were able to defeat him, with Quake sending the big bad flying out into space the last time we saw him.
New comments from co-showrunner Jed Whedon, though, suggest that Graviton might not be as dead he seemed and could be in for a return next season. Whedon was speaking to EW when he teased that Talbot’s future is still in flux, saying:
“I know we see him floating in space, but he’s Graviton,...

Upon welcoming Coulson to his sparse room within her bunker, Hale advised him to hear her out, because it is time — for S.H.I.E.L.D. and Hydra to unite in a cause. First leaping back to “28 Years Ago,” we see a teenage Hale ready to graduate from Hydra’s training program, champing at the bit to learn where she will be placed as a sleeper agent.

What a long, long month of anticipation, waiting for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 5 Episode 11. And I'm happy to report that "All the Comforts of Home" did not disappoint.
The story hit the ground running almost as quickly as Team Coulson did on their return to the present, re-introducing old plot threads and continuing the current ones wonderfully.
Not to mention the fact that I am very, very happy that (Spoiler Alert!) Deke's not dead!
Some might argue that Deke's storyline was wrapped up quite well with his heroic sacrifice to make sure the monolith had power. Fair point.
I found him one of the best parts of the Dystopian Future arc the first half of this season, and I'm reasonably certain that there's plenty of story to be had by bringing him back to the present with the team.

The first viral video on the internet certainly was a bit wacky for a couple of reasons. One is that there was no such thing as ‘going viral’ when this video was made. It was created back late 90’s with outdated equipment that didn’t work and in fact wasn’t even plugged in. Yeah, that’s the second thing, it was a big hoax. The company this ‘angry man’ worked at was called Loronix and it was apparently a very fun place to work. The employees enjoyed it and spent a lot of their free time playing Quake on the T1 line.

A new rumour states that Marvel might be wiping its slate of ongoing animated TV shows clean. Disney Xd is currently home to three successful cartoons released under the Marvel banner, namely Avengers Assemble, Guardians of the Galaxy and the latest Spider-Man animated series, but the studio is apparently undergoing a rethink of its animated output.
The report comes from The Tomb of the Cartoon Monkey Skeleton blog, run by an ex-professional who worked in the animation industry for 40 years before retiring. Their report is also based on the word of several crew members of these shows, who claim that they’ve been laid off as the three series have been officially placed on hiatus. The outstanding work will be completed over the next few months.
