Writing on his Dslr filmmakers blog Eoshd, UK-based filmmaker Andrew Reid has shown off what he was able to do on his Canon 5D Mark III with the free Magic Lantern firmware add-on. Raw files track more accurately the voltage levels received bye light censors on camera's imaging chips. The result is a crisper image. Excited to share his findings with other Dslr filmmakers, Reid took to his blog after testing the camera settings. The footage was captured at 90Mb/s and 1920×1280. Shooting at a higher resolution caused some drop frames. On his blog, Reid showed off the footage he shot, which can be seen below: Canon 5D Mark III Continuous Raw Video with Magic Lantern (1920x1280 24p) from Andrew Reid on Vimeo.

The reheard inquest into Amy Winehouse's death has confirmed the original verdict of misadventure. It was ruled again today (January 8) at St Pancras Coroner's Court that the singer died as a result of accidental alcohol poisoning. The second inquest had been ordered following the resignation of original coroner Dr Andrew Reid. Reid had reportedly hired his "unqualified" wife Suzanne Greenaway as the deputy assistant coroner who oversaw the first hearing into the death of the singer. The Office for Judicial Complaints had launched disciplinary proceedings against him. Amy's father Mitch had previously confirmed that he would not attend the second (more)...

Amy Winehouse's father has expressed anger at the second inquest into his daughter's death. It was announced earlier this week that the inquest into the 'Back to Black' singer's 2011 death will be reheard in January, following the resignation of coroner Dr Andrew Reid and deputy coroner Suzanne Greenaway. The original inquest came under scrutiny after it was revealed that Greenaway, who oversaw the investigation, was unqualified. The late singer's father Mitch Winehouse has accused officials of making serious errors in their original investigation. Speaking at a recent charity (more)...

London — Officials in London say the inquest into the death of soul singer Amy Winehouse was overseen by a coroner who lacked the proper qualifications and will be re-heard next month.
Camden Council says a new hearing will take place on Jan. 8.
Winehouse was found dead in her London home in July 2011 at age 27. An inquest in October 2011 found the "Back to Black" singer had died of accidental alcohol poisoning.
Assistant deputy coroner Suzanne Greenaway, who oversaw the inquest, resigned the next month after her qualifications were questioned. She had been appointed by her husband, Andrew Reid, the coroner for inner north London.
Reid was suspended, and resigned earlier this month.
Winehouse family spokesman Chris Goodman said Monday that family had not requested a new hearing.

The Canon Eos M
Canon this week announced the Canon Eos M, a small camera that takes an Aps-c sensor and stuffs it into a smaller body by doing away with the Dslr mirrorbox and using a new lens mount. The Eos M follows a trail blazed by Canon’s competitors — namely Panasonic and Sony. Sony has had a hit with their Nex- series cameras, and obviously Canon has been watching.
What does it mean for video?
Well for one thing, it does away with the mirrorbox, which for video shooters is a mostly useless piece of equipment. This shrinks the size of the body almost in half when compared to the Rebel T4i, the Dslr that has basically the same video performance as the Eos M. But does the camera offer anything else compared to the T4i? The sensor has the same resolution and the LCD has...

One of the best known operators among Australia’s online sales houses is to step down from the company he founded more than a decade ago.
Andrew Lockwood co-founded PostClick in 2001. The company was acquired by Komli Media two years ago.
He will leave the company next month, handing the MD role to Andrew Reid.
Reid has been VP of data solutions at Komli since late last year. Prior to that he headed Komli’s ViziSense, which made an unsuccessful attempt to win the Iab online audience measurement tender.
Prior to that Reid was MD of music industry business Peer Group for two years. He was in a management role at Blue Freeway before that.
Today’s announcement said that Lockwood would be taking “an extended break” but might return later in an advisory role.
Reid said: “Andrew has made an enormous contribution to the online advertising industry in Australia.

Amy Winehouse's family are being offered the chance to have a second inquest. Coroner Dr. Andrew Reid has written to a number of families after his wife Suzanne Greenaway - who carried out the inquest into the 'Rehab' singer's death last year - was found to not be fully qualified for the position. Despite being 'confident' the inquiry was handled correctly, Dr. Reid has apologised and suggested he will re-open any cases should the families want him to. He said: 'I apologise if this matter causes distress. 'I will be writing to the families affected to personally apologise and offer...

The coroner who headed up the official inquest surrounding the death of Amy Winehouse has resigned, and a judicial investigation has been launched over her qualifications, raising concerns that the circumstances of the singer's death may need to be re-examined.
According to the British newspaper The Guardian, Suzanne Greenaway — the coroner who ruled in October that Winehouse died of "misadventure" — has become the subject of an investigation headed up by the Office of Judicial Complaints, after concerns were raised that she did not possess sufficient legal experience in the U.K. when she was appointed by her husband (a fellow coroner who chaired the inquest) to serve on the legal investigation into Winehouse's death.

Mitch Winehouse was 'very shocked' when he found out the coroner at the death of his daughter Amy was not fully qualified. Suzanne Greenaway did not meet the required criteria when she was appointed to the post of assistant deputy coroner by her husband Dr. Andrew Reid last year and resigned from the post a month after recording the Rehab singer's death as misadventure. Dr. Reid admitted he had made an error by appointing his wife but was confident she had handled the inquests appropriately. Mitch told The Sun newspaper: 'We were very shocked when we were informed the coroner was...

The family of the late Amy Winehouse have said that they are seeking legal advice after the coroner who oversaw the singer's inquest resigned. Suzanne Greenway has stepped down from her position as assistant deputy coroner, just months after issuing a verdict of "death by misadventure", ruling that the 27-year-old had voluntarily consumed alcohol, risking the consequences. Greenway, who was appointed by her husband, Coroner Andrew Reid, resigned in November, when authorities became aware that she had not been a registered UK lawyer for the five years required. In a statement, Dr Reid said: "In November it became apparent I'd made an error in the appointment process. While I am confident that all of the inquests handled were done (more)...
