Chicago – Frank Vincent brings gravity to the somewhat generic tale of “Chicago Overcoat,” a local production about an aging hitman trying to do one last job before trying to retire from a profession that doesn’t come with pension plans. After traveling the festival circuit for sometime, the hitman drama is now available on DVD.
DVD Rating: 3.5/5.0
Vincent, most well-known to modern audiences for his work on “The Sopranos” and in “GoodFellas”, brings a softer side to his starring role as Lou Marazano, a guy who honestly just wants to disappear after doing one final assignment. He’s the best thing about “Chicago Overcoat,” giving a delicate, quiet performance where many actors would have just chewed the scenery. As the bluesy soundtrack croons “I can’t do the things I used to do,” Vincent perfectly captures a man who knows his prime is behind him.

Director: Roze.
Writers: Roze, Candace Rose, and Josh Staman.
Deadfall Trail is a smallish indie production, which released in some theatres May 16, 2010. Recently, Fearnet.com has been hosting this horror title, as part of its online movies for April, 2011. This is director Roze's first feature film and so, the film suffers from some pacing issues, a stumbling plot direction and a missing unifying theme. The result is a beautiful (cinematography) film, but there is the mundane and a convoluted story to wade through, in the meantime.
Paul (Cavin Gray Schneider), John (Slade Hall) and Julian (Shane Dean) set out for an extended wilderness survival hike. There are no action sequences to hook your attention, nor interesting plot twists, early. Instead, you must wait for the tension to build between the newbie, Paul, and the experienced survivalist, Julian. Fourty-five minutes in and finally these two characters are butting heads, as...

Deadfall Trail is an independent film made for under a million dollars by Gas Mask Films. This movie was shown in several screenings in May leading up to a limited theatrical release May 16th. Now, the film will move to DVD and November 2nd from GoDigital Media Group. The film follows three hikers into the bush where they find themselves up against an aggravated Mother Nature. Check out the nude mud wrestle in blood below (mature clip).
The synopsis for Deadfall Trail is here:
"John, Julian and Paul enter the Kaibab National Forest for a three-week survival trip and peyote vision quest. The only items they take with them are a knife, a bottle of water and a garbage bag each. A week into their journey a disastrous turn of events changes everything and the men are forced to ultimately confront the darkest corners of their morality and mortality. Battling the elements and each other,...

Something that needs to be on everyone's bucket list is a nude mud wrestle with a beautiful woman in blood. This is exactly what happens in this newest clip for the independent horror film Deadfall Trail. This first clip, courtesy of Quiet Earth, shows one male character naked wrestling with an anonymous female. Thankfully, there are no below the belt shots. The first poster for the film is also available and Deadfall Trail hopes to revitalize the survivalist wilderness horror genre that has been done well before by Cabin Fever, Deliverance, and others. Have a look at the first clip for Deadfall Trail entitled "Bloodbath," which might have been given a more exciting title like "Nude Blood Wrestling."

Say what you want about Top Gun and Tom Cruise, blah, blah. Top Gun was like no other movie before or really since in its accurate and realistic portrayal of aerial combat. In fact one of my uncles’ Navy buddies was one of the head stunt pilots for that film and his one of the mission commanders fixing the Hubble Telescope in space.
THR has reported that Tmu Pictures is developing a Michael B. Chait directed action-adventure film called War Birds, the story of an Air Force veteran-turned-reckless airshow re-enactment pilot who is then pulled into the underground culture of illegal, real-life aerial combat.
What’s even cooler is that in this world of CGI reliance this movie plans to use real airplanes and aerial sequences, including authentic P-51 Mustangs, P-38 Lightnings, F4U Corsairs and a B-17 Flying Fortress as well as modern military helicopters and jets.

The official website has released test footage from Michael B. Chait’s first feature attempt in the form of the movie War Birds. From the footage (which I’ve embedded below) it looks like we can expect to see a Top Gun style movie based in an around the Us Airforce in the Second World War with Michael Bay style explosions recently seen on the Victoria Secrets ad!
The website gives us literally no other information on the movie but fortunately, or friend Alex over at FirstShowing.net knows a lot more than we do about the movie:
FirstShowing.net: The story follows an Air Force veteran-turned-reckless airshow re-enactment pilot who gets pulled into the world of illegal aerial combat. Shooting is scheduled for next summer in Michigan using real airplanes and aerial sequences. War Birds will be directed by first-time filmmaker Michael Chait. It's like Fast and the Furious, except in the sky with airplanes.
War Birds is the title of this new movie project, a tale about the underground sport of pilots that take to the sky and engage in real-life combat. Say what? This is real? Who exactly is doing this sort of thing? Ah, it doesn't matter; it's a hook for a movie. Just one person needs to have done it for Hollywood to say that it's based on a true story.
Tmu Pictures is the outfit charged with making this one a go project. Directing will be Michael Chait. The script by Josh Staman and Bryan Binder is receiving a rewrite from J. Todd Harris (Bottle Shock) and Richard Jefferies (Tron: Legacy).
"I love big, exciting, action-adventure movies, especially when they are shot live, in camera," Chait told THR about his movie. "Growing up the son of an artist and a pilot,...

Never since Top Gun has a film captured the pure adrenaline rush and intensity of fighter jet air combat. Sure sequences in films like Pearl Harbor and Independence Day have been fantastic in themselves, but an entire film has never come close to director Tony Scott's energy rush in the sky. That might all change as THR reports Tmu Pictures is moving forward with a Michael Chait directed action-adventure film War Birds, the story of an Air Force veteran-turned-reckless airshow re-enactment pilot as he gets pulled into the underground culture of illegal, real-life aerial combat. It's like The Fast and the Furious but with jets! The script was written by Josh Staman and Bryan Binder but writers J. Welcome to Flight Club. Yes, production is moving forward on War Birds, the tale of an underground culture of illegal aerial combat. Huh. You wouldn't think they could find many cellars big enough for the planes. But seriously, folks, the story (by Michael B. Chait, who's also directing and producing) focuses on a former Air Force pilot who becomes an airshow re-enactment pilot after leaving the service, and despite his recklessness. Then he gets pulled into "the underground culture of illegal, real-life aerial combat". We'd never heard of such a thing around here, but if it's in a movie it must exist, right?Shooting is due to take place in Michigan this summer, using real planes including "P-51 Mustangs, P-38 Lightnings, F4U Corsairs and a B-17 Flying Fortress" - which does kinda make it sound awesome. We'd have thought those'd be too big to keep particularly under wraps, but...
