Camp Counselors with Zachariah Porter and Jonathon Carson is a good natured podcast hosted by your favorite fake camp counselors Zachariah and Jonathan. Here at Camp Shady Birch we love the great outdoors in theory, but we’d rather spend our time making friendship bracelets, spreading camper gossip, keeping our heads in the clouds, and avoiding archery. We know we would make great camp counselors minus the fact that we know nothing about camping. So grab your sunscreen and bug spray because things are about to get campy.

Norm Pattiz, the founder of the Westwood One syndicated programming network, died Dec. 6 at age 79.
The cause of death was not revealed by officials at Westwood One parent company Cumulus Media.
Pattiz began as a salesman with Los Angeles television station Kcop (Channel 13), but left there in 1976 to start Westwood One.
In 1985, the company purchased Mutual Broadcasting System, one of the biggest radio networks in the United States. Two years later, the company acquired the NBC Radio Network.
In the early 1990s, control of Westwood One shifted to Mel Karmazin and Infinity Broadcasting (later acquired by CBS Radio). Pattiz remained chairman of the company until 2010, at which point he moved on to found the on-demand audio network, PodcastOne.
Pattiz helped propel on-demand audio into the mainstream, first with an on-demand version of the Adam Carolla show, and later through partnerships with such brands as the Los Angeles Lakers basketball team.

The venture-capital funding spigot for many online publishers is dribbling a lot less cash these days, with one notable exception: sports.
After recent disappointments over revenue and growth at even the bluest of blue chip sites (think Vice and Buzzfeed), VCs now are betting on sports content for their next big digital-media payday. And betting is exactly the right word.
As Gambling Goes, So Goes The Venture Capital
One component of this gold rush is definitely the prospect of programming around widely legalized sports gambling, following a big U.S. Supreme Court decision last year. By late 2018, five states already had legalized sports gambling, and as many as 20 more expected to consider such legislation this year.
No surprise then, that one of the recent beneficiaries of this latest gold rush was Action Network, which announced $17.5 million in Series B fundraising in late February. Action Network, as its name suggests, provides betting lines,...

After setting it out as a fully furnished luxury rental last year at $15,000 per month, Sandra Bullock has now decided she’d like to completely sever ties with a home she’s long owned above L.A.’s Sunset Strip, listing it for sale on the open market at $2.995 million. The 2010 Oscar winner for “The Blind Side,” currently in theaters as part of the star-studded cast of the heist comedy film “Ocean’s 8” and scheduled to appear with Sarah Paulson and John Malkovich in Netflix’s upcoming post-apocalyptic sci-fi thriller “Bird Box,” hopes to more than double her money on the unassuming and fully updated 1940s California contemporary she picked up in early 2001 for $1.485 million. Tucked up behind the illustrious and ever-chic Chateau Marmont Hotel next door to a home long owned but not recently occupied by Cameron Diaz, the unassuming 3,153-square-foot residence has three and potentially four bedrooms and three bathrooms.

Word is starting to make its way down the ultra-high-end real estate gossip grapevine that Hard Rock Café co-founder Peter Morton reached an agreement to sell his spectacular oceanfront front spread on Malibu’s Carbon Beach to an unknown buyer for a mind melting and record shattering $110 million. So the story goes, Morton was not looking to sell the two-parcel property but the unsolicited offer, brought by powerhouse broker Stephen Shapiro at Westside Estate Agency according to a well-connected snitch, proved simply too good to turn down. Morton, who sold the Hard Rock Café chain in 1995 for $410 million and the famously raucous Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas in 2006 in an all cash deal reported to net him more than $730 million, has owned the smaller of the two parcels since sometime before 1993 and records indicate he acquired the larger lot in 1998 for $3.5 million.
