Sweeney will be replaced by senior manager Edith Chapin, who has been appointed executive editor. Chris Turpin, acting senior vice president of news, announced Sweeney’s departure November a staff email Tuesday. “This is a difficult time for our newsroom and I’m committed to supporting all of you as we move forward. I know you appreciate that there are some questions I cannot answer in keeping with our practice to not comment on personnel issues, but I will do my best to.

Guys With Kids and Childrens Hospital co-star Erinn Hayes will play the female lead in NBC‘s comedy pilot Holding Patterns. She replaces Chyler Leigh who was originally cast in the role. Holding Patterns is an ensemble multi-camera comedy about a group of friends whose lives completely change after they survive a plane crash, caused by Leah (Hayes) ruining Griffin’s (Humphrey Ker) proposal dinner. For Hayes, the casting is in second position to Guys With Kids, which is at the same network and studio, NBC/Universal TV. Because of her relationship with NBC and Uni TV, Hayes was asked to step in for Leigh, who was out of town and under the weather, for the pilot’s table read. Ultimately, during rehearsals, NBC brass concluded that Leigh is not how they envisioned the Leah character. This is the second recasting on Holding Patterns, which also replaced Robert Buckley with Nelson Franklin.

Take a look at this picture, it's a prime example of what makes aGLIFF and in fact every film festival in town work. Pictured above (clockwise from upper left) are David Sweeney, Jenn Garrison, Jean Lauer, Andy Campbell, Michelle Faires and lastly actor Alex Di Dio from closing-night film BearCity. Together they represent the aGLIFF board, 2010 juries, volunteers, filmmakers, and the local film community on all levels. If it looks like they're having fun, they are. It's been a long festival, but a very successful one with many sold-out or close to capacity screenings.
