There’s a museum deep in the Australian outback that most people will never visit, unless they have a penchant for killer cars and marauding bands of bikers. We’ve seen fans influenced by films in all sorts of weird and wonderful ways, from movie themed weddings to creating their own fan art. But one fan has taken it a step further and moved his whole family to the shooting location of his favourite film. Adrian Bennett, of Bradford, Yorkshire, is obsessed with the Australian biker film Mad Max so much so he’s moved his entire family to a tiny town in the Australian outback. He first saw Mad Max and its sequel The Road Warrior as a double bill as a teenager in 1982. He says “everything – the costumes, the characters, the location and the vehicles” inspired him to begin collecting Mad Max memorabilia.
Seventeen years later, and now 45, Bennett has moved his wife and two sons to Silverton near Broken Hill on the border of New South Wales and South Australia. The town is over 800 miles...

He says it was “everything—the costumes, the characters, the location and the vehicles” which attracted him to the film...

The 45-year-old began collecting memorabilia from the film series after viewing the first two instalments on a double bill in 1982. He told The Times: "From the opening credits of the first film to the closing credits of Mad Max 2 my jaw was on the floor, I couldn't believe what I was seeing and I was totally hooked."
