In a new article over at Variety regarding the Short Circuit remake, they confirm old news that Dimension Films' remake of Hellraiser will in fact be filmed in 3-D. They also report that the full title is Clive Barker's Hellraiser, and also bring Scanners back into conversation. Scanners is in development hell after David Goyer penned the last draft. The Hellraiser reboot has already seen its fair share of directors (Alexandre Bustillo, Julien Maury, Pascal Laugier) attached to bring Pinhead back to the big screen. - At the beginning of every month, Ioncinema.com's "Tracking Shot" features six projects that are moments away from lensing and that we feel, are worth signaling out. This September is when Blacklist's 2008 top title goes into production - Jodie Foster helms The Beaver for Summit. Scribe Rowan Joffe begins his career as a director with Brighton Rock, - Joffe penned Pawel Pawlikowski's Last Resort. Not much news has been made since a Cannes announcement for Andrew Niccol's 4th film. We'll keep tabs on whether filming for The Cross does take place down under. The very rich Todd Phillips already has a due date of November for Due Date. Edward Zwick finally gets into the saddle for Love and Other Drugs, and we are still awaiting more news on Tommy Lee Jones, who should begin filming The Sunset Limited this month. Those that didn't make the list, but »

Rob Zombie "Protective" of Halloween II

27 August 2009 9:47 AM, PDT | Reelzchannel.com | See recent ReelzChannel news »

Originally, Rob Zombie was happy to sit out of the sequel to his remake of Halloween, but when directors Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury dropped out, and Zombie heard what other prospective directors were planning for Halloween II, he finally stepped in.

Zombie explained to MTV why he couldn't stay away from Halloween II.

I just got protective of the series, because I had spent so much time trying to revive the whole thing that it looked like they were just going to go back in and destroy it. Zombie didn't want the new Halloween movies to end up like the original series where "every one had a different director, a different guy playing Michael Myers, a different story line" and seemed, to Zombie, to be "shooting off in all different directions." Working on Halloween II, Zombie felt more freedom, claiming the sequel had "less baggage" than the 2007 remake. The results have Zombie pleased. »
