Kate Middleton can’t stop making headlines. The Princess of Wales, who is the wife of Prince William — and the future queen — disappeared shortly after Christmas of 2023 and has yet to resurface with the exception of a few paparazzi photos all taken at the same time. Kensington Palace announced back in January that Kate had undergone planned abdominal surgery and would require about two months to recover. However, Kate’s disappearance has led to a slew of conspiracy theories; now, one royal expert says Kate’s mother, Carole Middleton, is living with her — and that the Middletons no longer trust the royal family.

Michael Strahan seemed to want no part of any more discussion of a heated topic with his Good Morning America co-anchor!
During a recent episode of the program, Strahan appeared at the desk with co-anchors George Stephanopoulos and Robin Roberts.
The trio was joined for a segment by Will Reeve, who presented a story about the ongoing coverage of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s relationship.
With Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs playing in this year’s Super Bowl, the topic will receive more attention, discussion, and criticism.
Following the segment, Roberts got riled up when discussing how some critics get upset about the relationship coverage.
“It is amazing that some people are just so up in arms. Who cares? It’s great,” Roberts told her colleagues.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have certainly made headlines this year for their public relationship. The romance first started back when Kelce admitted that he’d tried to meet Swift after one of her concerts but didn’t get the chance. It got back to Swift, and we all know what happened next. Now, Swift is preparing to cheer on her man as the Kansas City Chiefs attempt to win yet another Super Bowl.
But according to one former Chiefs player, Swift has actually spent time with the team before — but it’s been quite a few years.

Michael Strahan isn’t averse to throwing a jab at a colleague, especially on the set of one of his favorite shows.
The 52-year-old appears regularly on Good Morning America, where he’s had playful banter with Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, and others.
Before landing on GMA, he started with Fox NFL Sunday to help present pre-game, halftime, and post-game coverage.
On the NFL program, his friends and co-analysts include Curt Menefee, Jimmy Johnson, Terry Bradshaw, and Howie Long.
A recent episode of Fox’s show featured hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg, who stars in the new Amazon Prime movie The Underdoggs.
Since the movie is about football and Strahan has worked with Snoop before, it’s no surprise the Fox NFL crew appears in the film.

Plot: Jaycen “Two Js” Jennings is a washed-up ex-professional football star who has hit rock bottom. When Jaycen is sentenced to community service coaching the Underdoggs, an unruly pee-wee football team in his hometown of Long Beach, California, he sees it as an opportunity to rebuild his public image and turn his life around. As Jaycen works to transform the foul-mouthed Underdoggs into top-notch champions, he reconnects with his past, including an old flame and a few of his ex-teammates, and rediscovers his love of the game.

Minutes before “Saturday Night Live” was set to kick off Season 49 inside Studio 8H at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, the show’s production team — led, of course, by executive producer Lorne Michaels — received word that two special guests were on their way. According to a source, that was when they learned that Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who were in New York City, wanted to drop by the show.
“No one knew they were coming, and they contacted a few minutes before arrival at air time,” said one source. Coincidentally, the very first sketch of the night — after host Pete Davidson’s cold open, which addressed Israel and Gaza, and monologue — was a parody of the NFL’s current obsession with all things Taylor Swift. After "Saturday Night Live" ended season 48 a little prematurely back in the spring due to the Hollywood strikes beginning, the late night sketch comedy show returned for season 49 this weekend. Despite the fact that the Screen Actors Guild is still on strike while negotiating for a new deal with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), SAG-AFTRA gave its full support for the cast of "SNL" to return to work, which meant former cast member Pete Davidson finally got to make his hosting debut.
While it might seem like a quick turnaround for Davidson to return as host so soon after leaving at the end of season 47, plenty of other more recent cast members have come back to the show as host just as quickly, such as Kristen Wiig, Andy Samberg, and Bill Hader. However, since Davidson wasn't exactly known for many recurring characters or impressions, it didn't...

Saturday Night Live‘s version of Fox NFL Sunday included Pete Davidson playing a sideline reporter who was all-too-giddy to talk about Taylor Swift, even though he was covering a Philadelphia Eagles and New York Jets game.
“The Eagles are heavily favored, but the Jets have some defensive schemes that might slow them down,” began Kenan Thompson, as host Curt Menefee. “Let’s go to our newest NFL sideline reporter, Kenny Ditullio, who’s at MetLife Stadium. Kenny, what’s the mood down there?”

Travis Kelce made a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live in a Fox NFL Sunday parody over the excessive coverage of Taylor Swift attending the Kansas City Chief games.
Kenan Thompson appeared as Curt Menefee, Mikey Day was Howie Long, James Austin Johnson was Jimmy Johnson, Devon Walker as Michael Strahan and Molly Kearney was Terry Bradshaw.
Thompson as Menefee acknowledged Swifties tuning in to the NFL coverage joking that the Chiefs game was on Thursday and they had just missed her.
Another point of debate was when Thompson’s Menefee said it was time “to get into the game and stop yapping about Taylor and her little boyfriend.”
Day’s Long said, “Hold on there, no one said boyfriend. Let’s not jump to conclusions here.”
Johnson’s Johnson cleared up that Kelce and Swift are “hanging out” and “they’re taking their time.”

“Saturday Night Live” returned with host Pete Davidson on Saturday, and the first sketch of the night took on Taylor Swift/NFL mania, via a parody of Fox’s NFL Sunday team. As the anchors tried to outdo each other with their Swift fandom, the sketch ended with a cameo by Travis Kelce himself — the Kansas City Chiefs tight end at the center of the brouhaha.
Fox NFL anchor Curt Menefee, played by Kenan Thompson, grows increasingly frustrated as his co-anchors Terry Bradshaw (Molly Kearney), Howie Long (Mikey Day), Michael Strahan (Devon Walker) and Jimmy Johnson (James Austin Johnson) reveal their love of Swift.

Terry Bradshaw made a big personal announcement on Sunday’s edition of “Fox NFL Sunday”, responding to fan queries after he became visibly short of breath during last week’s pre-game show.
“Last week on this show, I ran out of breath, and Howie [Long] helped me up. And a lot of people are asking what’s wrong with me, what’s happened to me physically. I just want to address it and let you know what has happened in my life,” Bradshaw said at the top of the show.
“In November, I was diagnosed with bladder cancer. I went to the Yale University Medical Center — surgery, treatment. As of today, I am bladder-cancer free. That’s the good news,” he revealed.

“In accordance with CDC guidance, Los Angeles County Department of Public Health safety guidelines — and out of an abundance of caution for our team — Sunday’s Fox NFL Kickoff and Fox NFL Sunday pregame shows from our Los Angeles studio will not include their regular casts,” Fox said in a statement.
The network did not say what caused the move, or whether anyone had caught the coronavirus.
Earlier in November, the entire on-air crew for Fox Sports’ college football pregame show Big Noon Kickoff was removed in a similar fashion, with Covid-19 concerns cited. The weekly show featured former players Matt Leinart,...

For many of us, this Labor Day weekend will be the first in recent memory in which we will not attend a barbecue, crack open a cold one with the boys, or go for one last beach day of the season — unless done so in outdoor settings and in small groups with the proper social-distance measures in place, of course. But allow us at TheWrap to pose an alternative: Stay inside and watch TV instead. Here are 17 options spaced out from Friday to Monday that just might keep you entertained.
“Away” – Netflix

“The Boys” Season 2 – Amazon

Said Blake Callaway, executive director of IFC and SundanceTV: “Who decided that Black History only gets one month, and a cold one at that? Another NFL season brings with it another attempt to kick off a national spring football league in the months that follow. But a spring football league slated to launch next year will debut with significant media firepower behind it.
The Xfl, the nascent football league controlled by professional-wrestling impresario Vince McMahon, will debut in February of next year with a good chunk of games that are slated to air on two of TV’s most watched networks, Fox and ABC. In all, 25 games will air on national broadcast, the Xfl said Tuesday, with others slated to air on ESPN and ESPN2, which, like ABC, are controlled by Walt Disney Co. The eight-team league will play a ten-week season.
Fox has already committed an on-air team consisting of Curt Menefee, a veteran of the booth. and Joel Klatt, its lead college football analyst. ABC’s team will be named at a later date.

In the tradition and style of IFC’s sublime “Documentary Now!” parody series, the bizarre allure of “Sherman’s Showcase” is that it’s a spoof that takes itself seriously. The IFC series from Diallo Riddle and Bashir Salahuddin is sneering in tone, wringing out the absurdities to be found in classic shows like “Soul Train” and “Solid Gold,” even as it goes to great lengths to imitate their style. Satirizing a format the creators clearly love, the series is so obviously a passion project – a fanboy costume party that celebrates a legendary, even if fictional, TV program’s history.
A variety show in the purest sense of the word, “Sherman’s Showcase” is structured as a series of infomercials – running from a few seconds to several minutes in length – for a 23-disc DVD compilation of a 40-year-old music variety show, hosted by Salahuddin’s egotistical and maybe even slightly shady Sherman McDaniel.

Created by and starring comedy duo Diallo Riddle and Bashir Salahuddin, IFC’s new sketch show “Sherman’s Showcase” travels through time via music and clips drawn from the 40-year library of a fictional legendary musical variety show. Unlike “South Side,” the duo’s more traditional Comedy Central series, “Sherman’s Showcase” is unapologetically delirious, seemingly operating under no specific set of rules, which might leave audiences dazed, for better or worse. And that’s exactly how Riddle and Salahuddin want it.
“As comedy writers, we really desire to be unbound, and because it’s a variety show, it allowed us to open up the format and write about anything that we wanted,” said Salahuddin at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour. “And so the ability for us to do that and also work with talented people who could put their own spin on what we wrote let us...

Sherman’s Showcase is a sketch comedy show created by former Late Night with Jimmy Fallon writers Diallo Riddle and Bashir Salahuddin that includes sketches that were “too edgy” for the NBC late night show.
The IFC Soul Train take-off, which launches later this month, is hosted by Salahuddin, who plays Sherman McDaniels as he takes viewers through time via music and comedy drawn from the 40-year library of a legendary (but fictional) musical variety show. Whether it’s a questionably-attired funk super group in the 1970s, an up-and-coming Mc in the 1980s, or an R&b diva from the 1990s, Sherman’s Showcase has music, comedy, game show segments, political roundtables, commercial parodies, breakout hits destined to climb the charts, a dancing robot and a legendary host who’s been there from the beginning.

IFC’s quest to be the network with the most fictional TV shows now has more material to show for it. On Friday, it unveiled the first full look at “Sherman’s Showcase,” a new series from Diallo Riddle and Bashir Salahuddin.
To help give context for the premise of a long-running sketch/variety series that never actually existed, the pair have enlisted plenty of famous names for help. John Legend looks to be filling a similar role to Helen Mirren on “Documentary Now!,” helping guide viewers through the decade-spanning history of a show within a show. Salahuddin stars as Sherman McDaniels, the proprietor of this fictional comedy archive, stretching from the ’70s on forward.
Like the shows from those early decades that this show is riffing on, it seems like “Sherman’s Showcase” will have an array of musical, dance, and sketch performances fitting in with each passing era.

Welcome to “TV Take,” Variety‘s television podcast. In this week’s episode, Variety’s executive editor of TV, Daniel Holloway, talks with Curt Menefee, host of “Fox NFL Sunday,” the long-running pre-game show being inducted into the Nab Broadcasting Hall of Fame in April.
Menefee has a pretty packed week. Mondays are his weekend, he says, discussing the lead-up to the show — “That is the day I like to try to do stuff with the wife” — but reviewing what happened the day before or having to take interviews sometimes gets in the way of that.
Preparation for the weekly live show begins Tuesday, and doesn’t stop until early Sunday morning leading up to the show’s airtime at 9 a.m.
Having been running since 1994, if it looks like he and his co-hosts Howie Long, Terry Bradshaw, Jimmy Johnson and Michael Strahan are friends, it’s because they are.
