Global Series Network picked up the series for its innovative SVOD feed Walter Presents in North America. National broadcaster Rtp in Portugal has also acquired the series, as well as Filmin VOD services for Spain and Portugal.
These deals are in addition to recently announced sales to Mediaset for Italy, Mtva for Hungary and Orf for Austria. The six-part thriller launched in December on Srf in Switzerland and Ard in Germany.

“Davos,” a period espionage thriller, is being written by Switzerland’s Adrian Illien, a former producer at Swiss public broadcaster Srf of crime series “Tatort” and Germany’s Julia Penner, head writer on seasons 3, 4 and 5 of “Druck,” Germany’s adaptation of “Skam.”

Bulgarian director Ralitza Petrova’s debut feature Godless has won the top prize, the Golden Leopard, at the 69th Locarno Film Festival.
The drama also took the Best Actress award for Irena Ivanova’s performance as a nurse looking after elderly patients with dementia in a remote Bulgarian town.
In addition, the production by Klas Film’s Rossitsa Valkanova with Denmark’s Snowglobe and France’s Alcatraz Films and Film Factory, received the Ecumenical Jury’s Prize, which comes with a cash award of $20,500 (CHF20,000).

Contrast Film, the producers of Locarno Swiss competition film Wonderland (Heimatand), are planning the feature debut of Iranian-Swiss director Talkhon Hamzavi, Oscar nominated for Best Live Action Short with Parvaneh.
Stefan Eichenberger, one of the partners in Contrast Film with Ivan Madeo and Urs Frey, produced Parvaneh which received the Silver Medal in the Foreign Film category at the Student Academy Awards in 2013 as well as the First Steps Award for Best Short in Berlin in 2013.
“The collaboration with Talkhon went well and a great friendship developed that we were keen to continue working with her,” producer Ivan Madeo told ScreenDaily during this week’s Locarno Film Festival.

Swiss filmmakers’ activities at home and abroad are to be given a welcome boost by the introduction of new financial instrument - the Film Standort Schweiz (FiSS) – and a new government decree for international cooperation.
This news comes 18 months after Switzerland was forced to exit the European Union’s Creative Europe programme after its immigration referendum in February 2014 and reconfirms plans already announced a year ago.
Speaking at the Locarno Film Festival yesterday, Federal Councillor and Interior Minister Alain Berset revealed that $27.5m (CHF27m) would be made available over five years from 2016 for the FiSS scheme to support the shoots and post-production of Swiss films in Switzerland as well as co-productions by Swiss producers of foreign projects shooting there.
Inspired by Germany’s Dfff and Austria’s Fisa incentive schemes, FiSS will have a $6.6m (CHF6m) annual budget, although only $3.3m (CHF3m) will be available in 2016 as the scheme is not expected to start...
