Flying Wild Hogs’ bombastic reboot of 3D Realms’ ultra-violent shooter, Shadow Warrior, is getting the next-gen treatment, as Majesco Entertainment announced plans to bring the cult classic to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this September.
Teaming up with Devolver Digital — publisher behind a litany of indie titles, including Hotline Miami — the distributing duo will shepherd the game onto current-gen consoles, where it will be priced at $39.99 in the States. As for other territories, it’s unclear whether Shadow Warrior will launch at a similar price point.
Nevertheless, in a statement, Jesse Sutton, CEO of Majesco trumpeted the rerelease as the perfect experience for fans of the 90s romp:
“Shadow Warrior turns the 90s nostalgia meter way up, delivering big guns, big blades and big attitude laced with humour. This is a must have title for every kind of fan: those who loved the original game, Fps enthusiasts and players looking for...

There have been three "BloodRayne" movies since the last game was released in 2005, and all of them were directed by Uwe Boll. Do you need any more indication than that of how far the series has fallen? It's a shame too; after all, we're talking about a gun-toting vampiress with blades strapped to both of her arms. Majesco, the series' publisher, has been so busy reaping the rewards of "Cookin' Mama" that its forgotten all about Rayne and her badassery. No longer, though. Rayne is coming back This summer, and she's got a brand-new 2-D side-scrolling outfit to show off to all of her fans in "BloodRayne: Betrayal."
"Betrayal" is being developed by WayForward, the same folk who did the Nintendo DS revival "Contra 4" and the 2009 Wii comeback, "A Boy and His Blob." If there's any studio that can figure out how to repackage Rayne's adventures for present-day audiences,...

SAN DIEGO -- Game publisher Majesco Entertainment has announced a partnership with celebrity fitness trainer Jillian Michaels for an exercise-themed video game for the Nintendo Wii.
"Jillian Michaels' Fitness Ultimatum 2009," slated for a holiday release, leverages the motion-based Wii system and Balance Board accessory to create a title that combines solid game play with a fitness regimen, advice and exercise techniques provided by Michaels, the strength trainer and life coach on NBC's "The Biggest Loser".
"I truly think this type of product will be instrumental in revolutionizing the fitness industry and will help combat the childhood obesity epidemic in this country," Michaels said.
Thanks to the popularity of the Nintendo Wii and its emphasis on physically active game play -- and last month's successful release of the "Wii Fit" game and Balance Board accessory -- exer-gaming is quickly emerging as a hot category.
Interactive Game Group brokered the deal for "Fitness Ultimatum 2009".
Majesco CEO Jesse Sutton said the title is aimed squarely at the growing casual gaming audience, especially women.
