The day after her actual birthday, Stassi Schroeder looked elegant in an all-white ensemble as she stepped out with her husband, Beau Clark, and two of her former castmates. The ‘Vanderpump Rules’ alum celebrated her 35th birthday with a drag brunch at The Abbey in West Hollywood, meeting up with Katie Maloney and Lala Kent before heading into the bar. With such public interactions, fans are wondering—are Stassi Schroeder and Katie Maloney still close? How things have changed I need to step in here, Schroeder wrote in a comment section on TikTok earlier this month. I’m not on Vanderpump Rules.

Ripped action stars have been around since the '80s when Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone battled it out to see who had the bigger muscles, the most guns, and who could beat up the most bad guys. These days, being in peak physical shape for a role is pretty much the norm. Unfortunately, this has meant many actors feel more pressure than ever to get in the best possible shape, often leading them to follow dodgy and dangerous methods in pursuit of the ideal movie star physique.
For example, it's been reported that Marvel molds actors into superhero shape using a controversial source. Health expert Dr. Todd Schroeder, who was interviewed for the book "MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios," claimed that "fifty to seventy-five percent" of Marvel Cinematic Universe actors take steroids or other performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs), "at least for the short term." In the book, Dr. Schroeder...

In the latest of a string of lawsuits indicating serious trouble in Bravoland, former Vanderpump Rules cast member Faith Stowers is accusing NBCUniversal of racial harassment, according to a complaint filed on Friday.
Stowers, who appeared in seasons 4 and 5 of the reality series offshoot of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, claims in the suit that castmate Lala Kent held a knife to her neck and threatened to “cut a bitch” during the filming of Vanderpump Rules, which follows the staff of Housewives star Lisa Vanderpump’s Los Angeles restaurant, Sur.
Vanderpump herself is named in the complaint from Stowers, who alleges that the reality TV star threatened to have her removed from her namesake show if Stowers couldn’t continue to work alongside her alleged assailant. The show’s executive producer also discouraged her from reporting the incident with Kent to local police, Stowers claims in the filing.

Despite the disappointment of fans, streaming-exclusive NFL games aren’t likely to disappear any time soon.
The NFL knows full well that its immediate future is still primarily on linear TV. Ninety-three of the top 100-rated television programs of 2023 were NFL games, and record-setting ratings from Super Bowl Lviii gave the league all the ammunition it needed to prove to doubters that traditional television is still the best way to offer fans games. But the league is still determined to build its relationships with streaming partners like Peacock and Prime Video, and the league’s EVP of media distribution Hans Schroeder spoke with Ad Week recently about how the league views streaming as a medium.
Schoeder suggested that rising ratings for “Thursday Night Football” games on Prime Video made the league feel comfortable offering it a Wild Card game. The average streaming audience for NFL games is eight years younger than linear audiences on average.

The NFL is breaking new ground this season with a September game in Brazil, the first time a regular-season contest will take place in South America.
The Week 1 game will be exclusively streamed on Peacock, giving NBCUniversal three stand-alone games in the first week of the season.
The Philadelphia Eagles are one of the teams playing in the game. Their opponent and the kickoff time will be announced at a later date. The September 6 contest will also mark the first time in more than 50 years that the league is kicking off its season on Friday night.
Along with the season-opener news, the NFL also confirmed that Prime Video has secured exclusive rights to stream a wild-card playoff game next January. A new report suggests the league is examining its contracts with Fox and Disney to see if it has any leverage to prevent their airing games on the new streamer.
The NFL has been extremely deliberate about making its product available via streaming. Making games available on broadcast channels is what turned the NFL into the giant TV product it is today, but its deliberate strategy was somewhat upended last week when Disney, Fox and Warner Bros. Discovery announced they would be bringing all of their sports rights to a new streaming platform intended to launch this fall. The NFL was reportedly not informed about the streamer until the news broke last week, and Puck is reporting that the league is “scouring” its contracts with Fox and Disney to see if it can prevent its games from airing on the streamer.

A year ago, Vanderpump Rules was headed for cancellation.
Now, the series is back on the air with stronger ratings than ever, and a Jax Taylor-led spinoff is in the works.
We can thank Scandoval for that.
Through two episodes, Vanderpump Rules Season 11 is an over-produced mess.
Yes, the show has always had a scripted feel, but the show has morphed into The Hills at this stage.
None of the storylines are interesting, and producers are clearly driving them to keep things fresh and exciting.
Vanderpump Rules Season 11 is already falling flat
Sadly, it’s all falling flat and making us wonder why the network is so fixated on ushering in The Valley spinoff if the main series is creatively struggling.
It makes sense from a business standpoint because striking while Vanderpump Rules’ ratings are hot to give the show the best launching pad is crucial.

Fans shouldn’t expect the league to make any big moves to quickly expand its streaming footprint, but more exclusive games are likely.
The fans grumbled and complained about an NFL Wild Card game that was exclusively available on Peacock; why was the NFL forcing them to subscribe to a new streaming service to watch a playoff game that had always been free before? Despite those objections, fans followed the game to Peacock, resulting in record viewership for the service and ratings that bested the 2023 Wild Card game that aired on broadcast TV in the same timeslot. Hans Schroeder, the EVP and COO of NFL Media, said that the league is incredibly pleased with the viewership results of the game, which is bad news for fans who are not looking forward to more streaming-exclusive games in the future.

The NFL’s decision to give Peacock — the streaming service owned by NBCUniversal — an exclusive game raised eyebrows in Hollywood when it was announced last year.
The game itself raised some hackles from fans, frustrated that they would have to subscribe to a new service to watch the game (it is worth noting that in the local markets of the teams playing, Miami and Kansas City, the game aired on local NBC stations).
And yet, to hear NBC tell it, the game between the Kansas City Chief and Miami Dolphins was an unabashed success. The game averaged 23 million viewers, according to Nielsen (not bad for a streaming service with about 30 million subscribers), and was actually up from the previous year’s wild card game on NBC.
It was a performance that had the NFL just as excited as its broadcast partner.

On the heels of Bravo announcing Vanderpump Rules spinoff series The Valley — starring former castmembers Jax Taylor, Brittany Cartwright and Kristen Doute — executive producers Lisa Vanderpump and Alex Baskin are teasing what to expect from the new show.
The Valley, which premieres this spring, will follow a group of close friends as they trade bottle service in West Hollywood for baby bottles in the suburbs, and focuses on five couples (who were real-life friends before the show) that include Taylor and Cartwright and Doute and boyfriend Luke Broderick.
“Their story goes on and I think it was kind of a good idea to see the growth. It’s a very different show than Vanderpump Rules, but I think it was interesting to see them pretend to be grown-ups,” Vanderpump told The Hollywood Reporter at the Vanderpump Rules season 11 premiere event in L.A. on Wednesday. “I use the word ‘grown-ups...

Hoping to join Smashing Pumpkins as their new guitarist? You’re not alone. Apparently more than 10,000 people have applied for the gig, which the rock band advertised earlier this month.
In a post on social media, Smashing Pumpkins confirmed they’ve received thousands of submissions for the position. “Currently, there are eight people working full-time to review each and every one,” the band wrote.

In a highly unusual move, the Smashing Pumpkins are soliciting a new guitarist with a general call-out.
The group announced Friday that they’re seeking to add a third guitarist to founding vocalist and guitarist Billy Corgan, guitarist James Iha, and drummer Jimmy Chamberlain. The group has big shows scheduled starting in June.
“The Smashing Pumpkins are in search of an additional guitarist,” the band said in a statement posted to social media. “The application process is open to anyone who might be interested.” An email was also listed (see below) for interested guitarists to submit a resume and any related materials.
The call went out after guitarist Jeff Schroeder, who joined the group in 2007, announced his exit.
“The amount of incredible memories created over the last 16 years with the band are almost too numerous to quantify,” Schroeder wrote. “Although it was a very difficult decision to make, I’ve...

Do you play guitar? Do you know every tiny intricacy of “Cherub Rock,” “Hummer,” and “Bullet With Butterfly Wings?” Are you looking for work? Will your schedule allow you to spend the summer and early fall playing arenas and stadiums across Europe and North America? If you answered yes to all of these questions, you might want to apply for a new job posting by the Smashing Pumpkins.

There aren’t all that many books where the format is an inspired choice – most books are what they are, arranged in the same way as a thousand others much like them. Every so often, you see a novel in epic verse, or a non-fiction book of advocacy that’s basically one big infographic, but those are rare.
Funny Things is part of that rare company: it may take a couple of pages to realize it, but this biography of Charles M. “Peanuts” Schulz is laid out like a book of Peanuts strips. Generally six dailies – though it starts with a short week of five – and then a Sunday, over and over again, just like Schulz’s own working life for fifty years.
The subtitle gives that away, if you catch the reference: it’s called “A Comic Strip Biography of Charles M. Schulz.” But that’s easy to miss...

As First Black Friday Game Nears Kickoff, Prime Video And NFL Eye New Postprandial Pigskin Tradition
Prime Video executives aren’t prepared to guarantee a ratings bonanza with the first NFL game on Black Friday. They mainly hope it succeeds in seeding a new annual pop culture event on the day after Thanksgiving.
“We’ll see how it goes, but our expectation and the NFL’s expectation is that this becomes an annual tradition,” said Jay Marine, VP of Prime Video and Global Head of Sports, during a media conference call.
The on-field matchup between the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins looked much better on paper when it was scheduled last spring. Since new star quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered an injury on the season’s opening night in September, the Jets have hit turbulence and the Dolphins come in as the heavy favorite.

There are three types of people in the world: "Garfield" people, "Calvin and Hobbes" people, and "Peanuts" people. As a practicing worshipper of The Great Pumpkin and the human result of what happens when Lucy van Pelt and Peppermint Patty go through the Brundlefly machine, I am firmly in the latter camp. There's no such thing as a bad "Peanuts" movie, in my opinion, only films that are special to a smaller number of fans.
The characters created by Charles M. Schulz have been entertaining generations for over 75 years, and there's no sign of stopping. Apple won the rights to much of the "Peanuts" library in the streaming wars, releasing the hybrid "Peanuts" special/Schulz documentary "Who Are You, Charlie Brown?" as well as two series, "Snoopy in Space" and "The Snoopy Show." Now, Apple TV+ is developing its first "Peanuts" original feature, bringing Charlie Brown and the gang to the Big City.

The great irony of Halloween is that in subjecting ourselves to scares of the kitschy seasonal-grocery-aisle variety, we somehow inoculate ourselves, for a moment, the Irl horrors that so consistently plague us each day online in the news each day. But horror movies and other October-end entertainments aren’t necessarily always simply a distraction. Just as often they’re an honest expression of universal human anxieties, dressed up in a foul-smelling rubber mask from the ad-hoc aisles of your local Spirit Halloween retail outlet.

Surprise! Legendary director Barbet Schroeder, in Locarno to introduce his latest doc “Ricardo and Painting,” was greeted with a Special Tribute Award before the screening.
“Is this for the film?” Shroeder, a modest man, asked on stage. “No,” said Locarno festival director Giona Nazzaro. “It’s for being Barbet Schroeder.”
Despite focusing on harsher subjects in his previous documentaries, “General Idi Amin Dada: A Self Portrait,” “Terror’s Advocate” or “The Venerable W.,” this time Schroeder decided to follow painter Ricardo Cavallo.
“I have already done my ‘Trilogy of Evil.’ I could continue: the world is full of bad people. But then there was this friend of mine, who I thought was such a good person,” he tells Variety.
Cavallo, convinced that “true life exists in creation,” could teach anyone how to change their way of seeing, claims Schroeder, sacrificing everything for his art.

On Monday, the “Vanderpump Rules” alum and her husband, Beau Clark, noticed that their two-year-old daughter, Hartford, was struggling to breathe and rushed her to the hospital. The family has since returned home and both Schroeder — who is pregnant with baby no. 2 — and Clark provided updates on the toddler’s health.
“Long scary day at the hospital,” Schroeder wrote on her Instagram Story Tuesday, per Page Six. “We brought her in after she was rapidly aggressively breathing — doctors think it’s ‘reactive airways disease’ (which is essentially pediatric asthma) on top of a virus.
“She’s such a little soldier,” the reality star added.

The drama is moving to Valley Village. Almost a month after the highly anticipated "Vanderpump Rules" season 10 reunion finale aired on June 7, Deadline reported on June 26 that Bravo is working on a spinoff series that would feature several former "Vanderpump" castmembers.
Former SURvers including Jax Taylor, Brittany Cartwright, and Kristen Doute will all be part of the new show, focused on Valley Village, the neighborhood in Los Angeles where they all reside. Deadline did not share other casting news for the spinoff, which is expected to be eight episodes long. Bravo did not immediately respond to Popsugar's request for comment on the report.

A “Vanderpump Rules” spinoff revolving around Jax Taylor, Brittany Cartwright and Kristen Doute — all of whom were fired from the flagship show in 2020 — is in the works at Bravo, Variety has confirmed. The show, which would follow the lives of the group and their circle of friends in the San Fernando Valley, is in early stages of development. None of the main cast has signed yet, but the new series is from a pitch by “Vanderpump Rules” executive producer Alex Baskin.
With Season 11 of the #Scandoval-fueled “Vanderpump Rules” beginning production today, this new series appears to answer the question in the negative about whether Taylor and Doute, who are original cast members from the show, will be returning. Instead, the three of them, along with new cast members, will be getting their own show. Stassi Schroeder, who also was ousted from “Vanderpump Rules” in 2020, will not be a part of the spinoff.

“When I think of your ex-boyfriend, I need a drink,” Kristen Doute says to Ariana Madix in the highly anticipated Vanderpump Rules Season 10 finale. Doute hasn’t appeared on the Bravo series in nearly two seasons after getting fired in June 2020, but she made her grand return at a heightened time for the show: when the cast members address the fallout of Tom Sandoval’s cheating scandal with Raquel Leviss.
“You mean, also your ex-boyfriend,” Madix replies, hugging her friend. In the midst of mourning the loss of Madix’s nearly decade-long relationship,...

Tom Sandoval and Raquel Leviss of Vanderpump Rules shocked fans in early March when it was revealed they had been having an affair for several months. Many cast members have been reacting to the affair, including Sur manager Peter Madrigal. According to Madrigal, he has proof that the affair started before the suspected time period.

A source told People in early March that Sandoval had been cheating on his then-girlfriend, Ariana Madix, with Leviss “for upwards of six months.” This implies that the affair started sometime in the fall of 2022.
Sandoval and Madix had been together for nine years, and they quickly broke up in the wake of this “Scandoval.”

The cast of Vanderpump Rules are generally embroiled in varied feuds whether they’re active cast members or not. The extended universe around businesswoman Lisa Vanderpump is packed with drama, and not a few feuds that extend outside of the show. But for the sake of Lala Kent’s daughter, some truces were made.
Kent’s 2-year-old daughter Ocean Kent was the star of the show during her March birthday celebrations. But was the vibe around the child a bit frosty, or did the Vanderpump Rules alums around her manage to loosen up?
Lala Kent’s daughter’s birthday party was a de facto ‘Vanderpump Rules’ reunion
When Vanderpump cast members celebrate major life milestones, things don’t always go smoothly, as Reality Blurb reports. Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright infamously pulled out of Stassi Schroeder and Beau Clark’s wedding last year, citing passport issues for their children. That triggered months of friction.

Season 10 of Vanderpump Rules has been one of the most eventful seasons of reality TV in recent memory. The drama around “Scandoval” has plagued the show as it’s been airing, with the upcoming reunion set to be a memorable affair (no pun intended). Stassi Schroeder’s wedding in Italy fallout continues, as Brittany Cartwright revealed that Katie Maloney from Vanderpump Rules still won’t speak to her over her absence.
Schroeder and her husband Beau Clark iced out Cartwright and her husband Jax Taylor when they were a no-show at their wedding in Italy. Cartwright and Taylor explained that their son’s passport didn’t arrive in time and they couldn’t make the arrangement work. But Schroeder was so angry, she cut them out of her life.
But the anger didn’t stop with Schroeder. Maloney also stopped speaking to Cartwright and continues to ghost her, despite a possible reconciliation between Schroeder and Cartwright.

From director Tiller Russell (Night Stalker: The Hunt for a Serial Killer), the three-part documentary series explores the definitive account of what happened in Waco, Texas in 1993 when cult leader David Koresh faced off against the federal government in a bloody 51-day siege. Nobody came out of the 1993 Waco tragedy looking good. Not David Koresh, the messianic religious/cult leader who stockpiled illegal weapons and married underage girls in order to spread his seed for a coming apocalypse. Not the Atf, which went ahead with its raid on Koresh’s Branch Davidian compound despite knowing that they were expected, eliminating any element of surprise. And not the FBI, whose hostage rescue and negotiation teams were constantly at odds over both means and ends. In the end, 86 people – 82 Davidians and four Atf agents – were killed.
