After hitting a snag just before he was to arrive on Tuesday, Gizmo from Gremlins has finally made it into Player First Games’ MultiVersus this morning. Voiced by Daniel Ross, Gizmo is part of the 1.02 patch, which also overhauls the hitboxes for fighters, as well as the projectile system.
Prior to Gizmo’s arrival, the official MultiVersus Twitter account released a video detailing Gizmo’s playstyle, which is focused on support. Gizmo brings with him his trusty bow from Gremlins 2, which when fully charged up, allows him to fire off flaming arrows. His Song of the Mogwai attack spawns musical note projectiles that will damage enemies while also providing a buff to allies.
Finally, you have his Gizmo A-Go-Go move, which has Gizmo jumping onto a partner and clinging to their back. Doing so will “cleanse” allies (according to the official Twitter account), presumably removing any debuffs from the ally.

Mascot fighters live and die by the quality of their rosters. Super Smash Bros. probably wouldn’t be half as popular as it is if the game didn’t feature an all-star cast of characters voiced by fitting actors. While MultiVersus doesn’t play exactly like Super Smash Bros., it still recognizes the importance of a strong roster.
MultiVersus may still technically be in its beta period, but the game is quickly expanding its library of playable characters. Currently, the title sports 17 playable characters with an additional two confirmed fighters, Rick and Morty, on the way. Given all the leaks we’ve heard and progress we’ve seen, it’s only a matter of time until even more recognizable characters make the jump to MultiVersus.

Gravitas has debuted the trailer for an indie titled Amanda & Jack Go Glamping, which is playing at the Austin Film Festival this month. For those who don't know, the word "glamping" is an amalgamation of "glamorous camping", essentially describing luxurious camping in which you go stay in fancy places - in this case, a "yurt". David Arquette and Amy Acker stars as a married couple who decided to go "glamping" in hopes of reigniting their spark for each other. Of course, things get weird and crazy, and yeah you know how these films go. This also stars Adan Canto, Nicole Elliott, Daniel Ross Owens, Chris Carpenter, Gustavo Gomez, and June Squibb. It's not really my kind of indie comedy, but it might be up your alley. Here's the full trailer (+ poster) for Brandon Dickerson's Amanda & Jack Go Glamping, on YouTube: With their marriage on the rocks, Jack (Arquette) and...

As a fan of the Jeepers Creepers movies I’m always interested in what Victor Salva will come up with next, and this can be a good and bad thing. Dark House is his latest movie which he directs and co-wrote the screenplay for and I have to admit that it is an interesting film, if you are a fan of Supernatural or shows like it that focus on a fairly lightweight battle between good and evil. With Tobin Bell starring, Dark House is also is likely to pull in some of the Saw fans too.

I try to be unbiased, and for the most part, I’m pretty successful. I’m only human though, and occasionally I’m swayed by who might be in the film. Some actors bring a disdain with them that the only hope of me getting past my biases is an undeniably good film. At the opposite end of the spectrum, I can give a pass to a pretty mediocre film if it features someone I like. This one has my kryptonite for being objective, Ms. Rose McGowan. I’ve always dug her in just about anything she’s done. Even films that were not so great for the above stated reasons. She definitely has a presence. I’ve seen her evolve from an evil ingenue in “Jawbreaker”, to being a part of the mainstream lexicon in “Charmed”, and now transitioning from younger to...

Late-night radio doc, Sonny Blake, is haunted by her past. We know this because Rosewood Lane has great chunks of its svelte 92 minute runtime devoted to telling us so.
She has Daddy-demons and bad-boyfriend demons and, potentially/possibly/maybe, a demon-demon to battle. That’s a lot of demons. Fortunately, life as the 21st Century Jack Killian has armed her well. Doctor Sonny believes there is no such thing as an accident. She tells her callers this – often. And she’s going back to the ‘burbs to confront her past. Nothing scares Sonny – she’s a can-do kind of gal.
Flash-forward a day, and a quick unpack, and Sonny (Rose McGowan) is scared of her scary paperboy (Daniel Ross Owens). We know he is scary because her next door neighbor tells us so. And dogs chase his bike down the street. That the only concrete scary thing about the paperboy,...

Moving into a strange neighbourhood can be a weird experience, but it never helps when the local paperboy appears to be controlling people with a reign of terror. Done in an interesting way this could be an interesting tale for this film starring Rose McGowan but one of the biggest problems though it could be one of the most annoying stories I’ve ever seen, all because of an attempt to make the main character seem crazy, yet giving too much proof that the events she’s experiencing are actually happening.
Rose McGowan stars as Sonny Blake who decides to move back into the family home a year after her father’s untimely death. It’s not long though before she’s warned to...

Lovely Molly will be released to Blu-ray/DVD tomorrow and we’ve been given an exclusive clip to share with our readers. This particular clip shows a segment from the film where Molly is investigating noises in her house. It includes commentary from director Eduardo Sánchez and co-writer Jamie Nash, who talk about how working inside of a claustrophobic house helped get everyone into the right mood.
“When newlywed Molly Reynolds returns to her long-abandoned family home, remainders of a nightmarish childhood begin seeping into her new life. A malevolent force, whether her own huanted past or some supernatural ‘thing,’ tirelessly seeks to overwhelm her. Alone and isolated in a centuries-old house, she soon begins an inexorable descent into depravity. Somewhere in the house, in that terrible space between psychosis and possession, lies an evil that will pull Molly and all those around her into darkness and death.”

Rosewood Lane is the name of the latest thriller from director Victor Salva, who previously helmed Jeepers Creepers, its sequel and Powder and we've landed the official trailer touting its DVD release on September 11th.
Rose McGowan (Grindhouse) stars, playing Sonny Blake, a radio talk show therapist who moves back to her childhood home on seemingly idyllic Rosewood Lane after her alcoholic father dies. But upon arrival in the old neighborhood, Sonny discovers her neighbors are terrified of the local paperboy (Daniel Ross Owens).
She thinks this is ridiculous, until she encounters the boy himself. It turns out that he is a cunning and dangerous sociopath, one who may have gruesomely killed her father...and others.
Check out the preview within...and yes, that's the score from Suspiria by Goblin that you're hearing.

Late of House hottie Odette Annable (Dr. Jessica Adams on the Fox drama) has landed quickly in another interesting project, having grabbed a role in Cinemax’s upcoming new crime drama called Banshee. There is a House connection here, as Banshee’s executive producer is Greg Yaitanes (though you’ve probably heard mostly about True Blood boss Alan Ball’s involvement most thus far), who directed a Ton of House episodes, but I don’t think you need too much cause to want Annable in your show. She also has been cast in a very cool (at least sounding) role, as a Native American assassin.
TVline adds that her character has a “murky” past, I think mandatory given her profession, and is, of course, a looker. We can expect to see Annable featured in a multi-episode arc in a show about a very competent crook, Lucas, portrayed by Antony Starr,...

While many critics bashed this one, I was fortunate enough to see it on the big screen, and honestly, I rather enjoyed it. It’s not a terrific film, and not as animalistic as Jeepers Creepers, or as atmospheric as Salva’s, Clownhouse, but it’s creepy in spots, and it’s certainly a break from current trends. Rose McGowan (Scream), Ray Wise (Chillerama), Lauren Vélez (Dexter), Judson Mills (Chill Factor) and Daniel Ross Owens (The Final) star.

Alone and isolated in a centuries-old house, she soon begins an inexorable descent into depravity. Somewhere in the house, in that terrible space between psychosis and possession, lies an evil that will pull Molly and all those around her into darkness and death.”
Lovely Molly stars Gretchen Lodge, Alexandra Holden, Johnny Lewis, Ken Arnold, Daniel Ross, Katie Foster, and Lauren Lakis. Here are links to our recent coverage:

Cinemax’s Banshee is proving just how serious it is by taking a known Disney Channel star and turning her into a party girl with a penchant for sexual deviancy. Lili Simmons, known for Geek Charming and Zeke and Luther, is joining the cast of Banshee, which so far includes the likes of Antony Starr, Ivana Milicevic, Rus Blackwell, Ulrich Thomsen, Matt Servitto, Trieste Dunn, Daniel Ross Owens, and Hoon Lee. All together they will be bringing to life a story written by authors Jonathon Hopper and David Schickler and executive produced by True Blood’s Alan Ball and House’s Greg Yaitanes.
According to TVLine, Simmons, with all her Disney Channel innocence, will be taking on the considerably more adult role of Rebecca Bowman. Rebecca will be a series regular and will have the delightful job of being Banshee’s go to sexy girl. By day she is a...

Disney Channel ingénue Lili Simmons (Geek Charming, Zeke and Luther) is shedding her mouse ears and tackling a racy new role in Banshee, Cinemax’s upcoming 10-episode drama series from True Blood boss Alan Ball and former House executive producer Greg Yaitanes.
The project, written by authors Jonathan Tropper and David Schickler, centers on Lucas (played by New Zealand thesp Antony Starr), an ex-convict and master thief who assumes the identity of the sheriff of Banshee, Penn, and continues to carry out his criminal activities even as shadowy gangsters hunt him.

It’s beginning to seem like Cinemax’s Banshee will never cease finding new actors and actresses to join its ever-expanding cast. The series, coming from True Blood’s Alan Ball and House’s Greg Yaitanes, has hired yet another relatively unknown actor to be a part of what will hopefully turn out to be the newest must-watch TV show. I foresee Banshee as being the series that will launch a number of careers, including that of our new cast member, Rus Blackwell.
Banshee, which comes from scribes Jonathon Tropper and David Schickler, will focus on Lucas (Antony Starr), an ex-con and master thief who takes on the identity of the sheriff of Banshee, Penn. He uses his new cover to continue his criminal activities, all while he is pursued by gangsters. According to TVline, Blackwell will be paying Gordon, who is Banshee’s Da and is currently married to Lucas’ old flame,...

Banshee, Cinemax’s upcoming action drama series executive produced by Alan Ball, has cast its first 3 regulars: Matt Servitto (Harry’s Law), Trieste Dunn and Daniel Ross Owens. The 10-episode series, written by authors Jonathan Tropper and David Schickler, centers on an ex-convict and master thief who assumes the identity of the sheriff of Banshee, Pa, where he continues his criminal activities even as he’s being hunted by the shadowy gangsters he had betrayed years earlier. Servitto will play Brock Lotus, the longest-serving deputy in the Banshee sheriff’s department. Dunn will play Siobhan Kelly, a spitfire female deputy in the sheriff’s department. Ross will play Mayor Dan Kendall, the young, idealistic mayor of Banshee. Greg Yaitanes (House) is directing the first episode of the series, which starts shooting this spring on location in and around Charlotte, North Carolina for a 2013 premiere. Ball, Tropper, Schickler, Yaitanes and Peter Macdissi are executive producing.
