Josh Androsky, listed as a senior advisor to Los Angeles City Councilman Hugo Soto-Martinez, has resigned after making antisemitic remarks on social media about Jewish comedian and actress Amy Schumer.
Androsky published his appalling comments on X in an exchange referencing Schumer as well as nazi concentration camps.
“The social media posts made by my staffer (earlier) were disturbing and reprehensible. With antisemitism on the rise in recent years, and especially in recent weeks, cracking jokes about the Holocaust isn’t just disgusting, it’s dangerous,” Soto-Martinez said.
“These antisemitic and misogynistic posts sickened me, and I have accepted his resignation effective immediately.”
Androsky’s account, @ShutUpAndrosky, appeared to be deactivated Saturday though screen shots of his comments are being circulated online.
Mayor Karen Bass added her disapproval on the matter. “The anti-Semitic and misogynistic comments made today were reprehensible, disgusting and dangerous and in no way represent the city family,...

Flea has led tributes to Tom Verlaine, the frontman for rock band Television, after his death was announced on Saturday (29 January).
Verlaine was the guitarist, songwriter and lead figure of the New York City band, which was mainly active in the mid-Seventies.
The band is most known for the 1977 album Marquee Moon, which is highly regarded as one of the foremost punk releases.
Verlaine frequently collaborated with musician Patti Smith throughout his solo career, and they once dated while they were part of the emerging punk scene in New York.
His death was announced by Jesse Paris Smith, the daughter of Patti Smith, who said that he died “after a brief illness”.
Since the news broke, Red Hot Chili Peppers’ bassist Flea is one of several musicians to have paid tribute to Verlaine online, sharing that he’d been an influence on his and bandmate John Frusciante.

Maybe "The Price Is Right" isn't the hardest game in the world, but if we had to spin a giant wheel with numbers all over it, we certainly wouldn't want to be tripping at the same time. Not so for comedian and "skateboard guru" Josh Androsky. He and his Los Angeles comedy pals got drunk, took shrooms and marched right down to "The Price Is Right" audience and waited for one of their names to be called.
Fortunately, for Mr. Androsky, it was his. We're not sure if Drew Carey knew exactly what was going on with "Big Poppa," but he's clearly amused.
Check out Androsky's hilarious appearance on the show above and marvel at his winning $1 strategy. You shouldn't shroom and price, but if you've got to, you couldn't do it much better than this.
