The festival will also host a connects session with British Vogue editor Edward Enninful.
Edward Enninful, editor-in-chief of British Vogue and European editorial director of Vogue, will open the industry programme of the BFI London Film Festival (Lff) on Thursday October 7 in an in-conversation event as part of the Lff Connects strand, which looks to explore the intersection between film and other creative industries.
There will also be Spotlight conversations with Element Pictures producer and co-founder Ed Guiney and Doc Society chief executive Jess Search.
Guiney’s most recent feature, Joanna Hogg’s The Souvenir Part II, is playing as the festival’s Londoner Gala.

Netflix has hired former Facebook and Electronic Arts exec Mike Verdu to bolster its move into gaming. He joins as VP of Game Development, Deadline has confirmed.
The streamer has been somewhat surreptitiously moving into the medium with the launch of a game around Stranger Things and last week’s announcement of Shonda Rhimes’ new deal including gaming.
As we reported in April, Greg Peters, COO and Chief Product Officer, to whom Verdu will report, CFO Spencer Neumann and co-ceo Reed Hastings all talked up gaming in their recent earnings call with the latter saying, “in ways, we’re kind of in gaming now with Bandersnatch and we have some very basic interactive things.”.
Verdu was previously vice president of content for Facebook Reality Labs, where he worked on virtual reality games for Oculus Studios and has also worked at Electronic Arts as well as a number of other gaming companies.

Netflix has nabbed a podcast industry veteran to fill a plum, first-of-its-kind role, naming N’Jeri Eaton director of podcast programming.
Eaton arrives at Netflix after serving at both Apple -- as head of content for less than a year -- and NPR for a total of four years, most recently as senior manager of program acquisitions, Variety reports. She will be a key member of Netflix’s editorial and publishing team, to be headed by just-tapped Michelle Lee, the former editor-in-chief of Allure.
Lee, for her part, leads social media, podcasts, and Netflix's other editorial endeavors, including its Queue magazine. She reports to CMO Bozoma Saint John, another Apple vet.

Best documentary at the Oscars is, like best foreign language film, the type of category that seems invented to be grumbled over, with selections and winners rarely reflecting the films everyone else in the world finds most worthy of praise. So it's much less frustrating to look to organizations like the International Documentary Association for better indicators of the docs that are the cream of 2010's crop.
The nominees for the 2010 Ida Documentary Awards were announced today, and the contenders for the top prize include Banksy's "Exit Through The Gift Shop," a personal favorite; Laura Poitras' Al-Qaeda saga "The Oath"; Joonas Berghaell and Mika Hotakainen's look at Finnish sauna culture "Steam of Life"; Ilisa Barbash and Lucien Castaing-Taylor's trailing of Montana sheepherders "Sweetgrass"; and Lucy Walker's tale of making art of trash "Waste Land," opening in New York on Friday. The awards will take place in L.
