The driver who was charged in the fatal motorcycle accident that killed actor Treat Williams has spoken out.
Ryan Koss released a statement via his attorney, Ian Carleton, days after Vermont State Police announced he’d been charged with grossly negligent operation with death resulting after the June 12 crash.
“I am devastated by Mr. Williams’s tragic passing,” Koss said in his statement, obtained by US Weekly. “I have known Treat for years, both as a member of this tight-knit community and fellow theatre maker. I considered him a friend. I know his family feels his sudden loss even more deeply than I do, and I offer my sincerest condolences to them.”
According to Manchester Journal, Koss is the managing creative director of Dorset Theatre Festival, an event Williams has been involved with in the past.
Koss voluntarily met with troopers last week, at which time he was processed on the charge and released.

The beloved actor's cause of death has been revealed as "severe trauma and blood loss" following the motorcycle crash in June.
The Vermont State Police also revealed this week that Ryan Koss, the man driving the vehicle that collided with Treat's motorcycle, has been charged with "grossly negligent operation with death," People reports.
News of Treat's death was confirmed in a statement by the actor's rep to People.

Hollywood is suffering another tragic loss as longtime television and film actor Treat Williams has died. He was 71 years old. Williams, who was beloved as the patriarch in Everwood and most recently Hallmark Channel’s Chesapeake Shores, was involved in a motorcycle accident in his native Dorset, Vermont, on Monday, June 12. Jack Falahee, Eric Nelsen and Hannah James are slated to star in indie drama “Holly by Nightfall” from director Andy Delaney and screenwriter Peter James Cooper.
The feature film centers on a group of friends while they navigate the stumbling blocks of adulthood. It marks one of Falahee’s first screen project since wrapping his breakout role opposite Viola Davis on ABC’s “How to Get Away With Murder” in 2020. The actor teased a behind-the-scenes still with Nelsen on his Instagram Wednesday.
Per an official synopsis, “Holly by Nightfall” is “a funny, sweet and poignant story about a group of friends who are hitting crossroads in their lives, stumbling over decisions about relationships and careers.”

Veteran character actor Joe Pantoliano was hospitalized on Friday in Connecticut after being struck by a car, TMZ reports. His wife, Nancy Sheppard, says he was walking with his family when a Porsche that had been hit by another car came across the road and struck him. The Bad Boys For Life and Matrix actor went flying and landed on a wooden fence. He sustained injuries including a “gash” on his head and damage to his left leg and shoulder and was sent to the hospital where he received a Ct scan.
Luckily, his injuries weren’t too serious and he’s since been allowed to go back home. According to Pantoliano’s agent, Barry McPherson, the actor is now recovering and resting up.

Jim Osborne has been named head of talent at Apa.
Apa executive Barry McPherson will continue to lead the agency’s New York talent department. Ryan Martin, who has served as Apa’s co-head of talent since June 2018 and previously lead the department since 2006, will exit the agency when his contract expires at the end of the year.

APA senior VP and partner Barry K. McPherson has been named to the agency’s board of directors, The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned. McPherson will continue to work out of Apa’s New York office, where he serves as head of its New York talent department and represents several Tony-, Emmy- and Oscar-winning actors, including Chevy Chase, whom he signed last month.
