Lockwood & Co. has taken Netflix by storm since its debut. The show, which follows a trio of ghostbusters, debuted on January 27th and is already a hit with fans. The series has several exciting elements, but the biggest one is the Problem, which forms the show’s entire premise. But what is the Problem in Lockwood & Co.?
The world in ‘Lockwood & Co.’ is overrun by deadly ghosts
Lockwood & Co. takes place in an alternative modern Britain where ghosts have become an epidemic that can need eradication. To deal with these deadly paranormals, adult-run agencies employ young children to fight them.
Ghost hunting is a profitable business in Lockwood & Co., and the beneficiaries are, unfortunately, the adults who sit behind their desks while children risk their lives to keep everyone safe. The story revolves around Lucy Carlyle, who obtained the gift of “listening” to ghosts when she was...

Walk Like a Duck Entertainment has acquired the life rights to the story of John Fairfax, an adventurer who crossed both the Atlantic and the Pacific in a rowboat.
The company plans to make a film about Fairfax and believes his extraordinary exploits have the making of gripping cinema. Fairfax crossed the Atlantic, becoming the first solo oarsman in recorded history to cross any ocean, and reached the shores of Hollywood, Fla., the day before Apollo 11 landed on the moon. His crossing was seen as so momentous that the astronauts sent back a message to Earth offering him their congratulations. “We who sail what President Kennedy once called ‘The new ocean of space’ are pleased to pay our respects to the man who, single handedly, has conquered the still formidable ocean of water,” astronauts Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Edwin A. Aldrin Jr. wrote at the time.

Actress Nicole Kidman has been subpoenaed to testify against a photographer in Sydney, Australia, after a judge insisted she appear in court in person to give evidence in the defamation case. Paparazzo Jamie Fawcett, 41, is suing John Fairfax Publications, the publishers behind local newspaper the Sun-Herald, after they ran a January 2005 article accusing Fawcett of allegedly planting a listening device outside Kidman's Sydney home. The article was found by a jury to be defamatory last year and the current hearing aims to determine whether John Fairfax Publications are liable for damages. Fawcett was charged with possession and use of a listening device in early 2005, but the charges were dropped in June after the New South Wales state Supreme Court ruled there was no evidence to suggest he had violated any law. Kidman, who is currently filming Baz Lurhmann's Australia, was due to give evidence for the defenze about her at-times controversial dealings with Fawcett, in the publishing house's effort to avoid a payout. Kidman had requested to testify via video link or at a weekend hearing because of her busy shooting schedule, but the appeal was rejected by Sydney's Supreme Court's Justice Carolyn Simpson on Monday, reports Fox News. She told the courtroom: "I think we should make enquiries about a time that will occasion the least disruption and it seems there is going to be co-operation on the part of all the parties involved to accommodate Ms Kidman." The hearing continues.

Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. said Monday that it has sold its 7.5% stake in Australian newspaper publisher John Fairfax Holdings Ltd. The conglomerate acquired the stake in October, ahead of a change in media ownership rules, saying the move was not a precursor to a takeover of Fairfax. A source told Reuters that News Corp. made a profit on the sale in U.S. dollar terms as the value of its holding rose from $3.95 a share to $4.16. A News Corp. spokesman confirmed the sale, but wouldn't say what the generated cash would be used for. Last week, News Corp. unveiled a $5 billion takeover play for Dow Jones & Co., which ran into opposition from key shareholders. Dow Jones flagship newspaper the Wall Street Journal reported Monday that two former top executives of the company have also joined the ranks of those favoring the firm's independence.
