Does anyone know what just happened? Britain's Got Talent possibly had one of its most bonkers episodes ever tonight, thanks to a hypnotic dog (sure), a man dressed as a nun on a motorised piano, and Simon Cowell actually being nice. What the hell was that about?
Look, Bgt has always had its odder moments, but for good portions of this episode we wondered whether we'd fallen asleep and dreamt the whole crazy thing.
Where do we begin? How about at the start, with Musical Ruth... also known as Matthew Hunt. Musical Ruth was the aforementioned male nun who drove a piano round the stage singing 'Give Me Oil In My Lamp', which we genuinely haven't heard since we were sat cross-legged in assembly 15 years ago.
Obviously, Simon buzzed immediately ("It was one of the worst acts I think I've seen on this show") but David couldn't resist a ride on the piano.

The opening and closing images in the Toy Story trilogy are one and the same: a picture-perfect blue sky with a couple of carefully placed, nonthreatening fluffy clouds in the middle. While both are computer-generated facsimiles, the former is a facsimile of a facsimile: the comforting wallpaper in the bedroom of a little boy named Andy Davis. The latter is closer to the real thing, greeting the teenage Andy as he drives off to college and out of the lives of the toys with whom he populated his imagination for over a decade. As the series opens, the 6-year old Andy, a suburban Christopher Robin of sorts, proves in the confines of his tiny room, overstuffed with plush animals, board games, action figures, and other toys, that his world of make-believe is limitless. As the series closes, Andy ventures into the known unknown of the real world, secretly wished an...

Earlier today, I was contacted by David DelaGardelle of Mad Dwarf Workshop, who was kind enough to share the following pictures and details about the creation of the sword we saw being wielded by Heimdall in Marvel Studios' Thor. Below, I've included a few excerpts from the full behind-the-scenes report on how they crafted the impressive weapon, but highly recommend clicking Here for even more details and images. Their Facebook page also contains loads of great pictures! In November of 2009, Swordsmith David DelaGardelle and Metal Artisan Andy Davis of the Mad Dwarf Workshop were contacted by the production team working on bringing Marvel Comic’s legendary comic book Thor to the big screen. They were looking for swordsmith’s capable of crafting a huge, intricately detailed, legendary hero weapon for the formidable and powerful character, Heimdall. Without hesitation, we took on this incredible but difficult task in the short time...

During the normally sleepy post-election period, SarahPAC, Sarah Palin's political action committee, raised more than $275,000 from Nov. 23 to Dec. 31, 2010, according to its latest Federal Election Commission report released Wednesday. That brings her total to $3.5 million for the year.

Being only seven years old when he auditioned for the character of Andy Davis in the original Toy Story film, a now 26-year-old John Morris reflects upon the initial audition process. "I still remember it quite clearly and I remember the excitement of it and the anticipation," Morris recalls. "I remember the first day that we started the project, just sitting around with the Pixar creative team and talking about the world of Toy Story and really feeling like we were starting this whole exciting process." Indeed, the Pixar team conjured up an instant classic which not only signalled a pioneering digital animation film but one whose story strongly resonated with audiences.

Chicago -- Chicago International Film Festival founder Michael Kutza wants his event to take the city's mind off last week's loss of the 2016 Summer Olympics to Rio de Janeiro.
The 45th edition of the Windy City festival kicks off Thursday with Katherine Dieckmann's high-energy comedy "Motherhood," starring Uma Thurman, Anthony Edwards and Minnie Driver.
Kutza is hoping Dieckmann's film, as well as Lars von Trier's "Antichrist," Russian director Valery Todorovsky's "Hipsters," Lee Daniels' "Precious," Ken Loach's "Looking for Eric" and local favorite Brian Caunter's "Chicago Overcoat," fill seats and garner attention.
"We've searched out first- and second-time filmmakers for the past 45 years," Kutza said. "We're always looking for that brand-new director."
Kutza is keen on Todorovsky's musical "Hipsters," which travels to 1955 Soviet Russia to glimpse young Russians getting a taste of American hype and greed. He wants it to be this year's "Slumdog Millionaire.

From Andy Davis, the man behind the post apocalyptic zombie film 2 (trailer) which we were promised a screener for but never received.. (ahem!) comes a freaky looking tale of a deaf girl dropped in the middle of nowhere, and a twisted carnival of fun. According to the filmmakers, they want "people to be uncomfortable, squirming in the seats."
Adelle stars Madeline McNulty in the title role of a young deaf girl who is abandoned in the middle of nowhere by her parents in the 1930s. Her subsequent struggle to survive becomes a nightmarish odyssey populated by an assortment of strange characters.

Fango heard from Andy Davis and Sandy McKeon, who passed on info and a couple of exclusive pics (see them below) from Adelle, the recently wrapped first feature from their new Abandoned Cinema company. Directed by Davis (whose previous credits include the zombie opus “2” and the supernatural film I’M Sorry) from a script he wrote with McKeon (who also co-stars), it’s described by the latter as “somewhere between Alice In Wonderland and Freaks—a pony-cart ride into hell.”
