Diablo 4 made a somewhat surprising appearance during the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase, but the most surprising thing about the latest Diablo 4 gameplay footage shared during that show may be the many ways that the game is shaping up to be weirdly similar to Diablo Immortal.
Actually, one of the first things we see in the new Diablo 4 gameplay trailer is a look at Diablo 4‘s character creator/customizer: a feature that Diablo Immortal introduced to the series. While Diablo 4 will undoubtedly feature a more robust character creator than Diablo Immortal did, it’s interesting to see that the Diablo 4 team really wants to emphasize the various ways you’ll be able to make your character look distinct.
Of course, that might have something to do...

The latest Diablo 4 developer update focuses on some major changes that have been made to the sequel’s skills and talent systems in response to early fan feedback.
“Right after we revealed the game at BlizzCon, we received a lot of feedback on the level of depth, progression, and customization provided by our Skill and Talent systems,” says Diablo 4 game director, Luis Barriga. “We’ve generally had the same observations and experiences ourselves as we’ve been playtesting the game in its early stages. As a result, we’ve been reworking skills and talents over the last few months and are now ready to share some of the progress we’ve made.”
The Diablo 4 team goes on to explain that essentially felt the previous talent system needed “more depth.” They also observed that the game’s skill system was “too simple” and that players would often have no “meaningful reason to spend their skill points.
