Christopher B. Stokes, the directors of such films as House Party 4, You Got Served, Somebody Help Me, Somebody Help Me 2, The Stepmother, and The Stepmother 2, is about to send four more movies out into the world over the course of just three months – and it’s all thanks to the Tubi streaming service. Continuing to get into original programming (previous Tubi originals include the Terror Train remake and its sequel), Tubi has teamed up with Footage Films to bring four “Black cinema thrillers” to their service. Stokes has directed all four of the movies and wrote the scripts for each one with Marques Houston.

Tubi has joined forces with Footage Films to premiere four original Black-led thrillers, Variety lets us know this week, each of them directed by Christopher B. Stokes (The Stepmother).
The four films coming soon to Tubi are titled The Assistant, Best Friend, You’re Not Alone and No Way Out, and you can learn more about each of them over on Variety.
In You’re Not Alone, for starters, which premieres on March 24, 2023…

Coulrophobics beware! A new clown film is coming your way, titled Insane. The film, from director Massimiliano Circhi, has started shooting this month and two stills from the film are available here. The photos show a central villain. And, the film will be released in 2016. A preview for Insane is hosted here. From the synopsis, a couple moves into a mansion. Here, they begin to see strange visions, in the darkness. What awaits for them in the attic? Much of the plotline is also being kept in the dark. However, two early stills show some of the film's costumes and settings. A sledgehammer looks menacing. Meanwhile, an interior, darkly lit setting promises terror.
