Good Morning Britain had an awkward ending today (August 4) as the studio was evacuated due to a fire alarm on live TV.
Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard were just about to interview Emmerdale's Charley Webb and Anthony Quinlan before they suddenly had to bring it to an abrupt halt as a loud alarm rang out.
Shephard said: "Our fire alarm appears to be going off in the studio! Does this mean we evacuate the studio?"
After a bit of confusion, they added: "I think if we hear the fire alarm it's probably a good idea to do so."
After they scuttled off, pre-recorded footage of the show was played out, with a message reading: "Sorry for the interruption to our normal programme. We'll be back to the Lorraine studio as soon as possible."
Lorraine finally began at 8.51am with stand-in presenter Jenni Falconer apologising for the delay: "Good morning,...
