To some, he’ll always be Pennywise, the eternal sewer-dwelling clown of your nightmares. To others, he’s the hapless, unlucky Air Bnb occupant in Barbarian or the ambitious, sniveling Marquis in the John Wick-iverse. And to still others, he’s the kid who followed his dad Stellan and his older brother Alexander into the family business, carving out a nice niche playing weirdos, monsters and assorted oddballs. Soon, people will think of Bill Skarsgård as the Next Action-Movie Savior, with the 33-year-old Swedish actor stepping into the lead role...

Bill Skarsgård, the guy who played Pennywise in It, is in a bit of a pickle. He got busted in Sweden with 2.43 grams of w**d. You know, the dude from Atomic Blonde and Keanu Reeves’ last John Wick movie. It’s making waves because, I mean, who’d think Pennywise would end up on the wrong side of the law?

Exclusive: BET+ has ordered a New Orleans-set spinoff of Carl Weber’s The Family Business, with Brandon T. Jackson set to star.
He also will serve as an associate producer on the eight-episode series, which is set to begin production in March.
Based on Weber’s bestselling crime drama book series, which wrapped its fourth season in October 2022, The Family Business follows the Duncans, an upstanding, tight-knit family led by L.C. Duncan (Ernie Hudson) that by day owns and operates an exotic car dealership in New York. By night, their business activities are more illicit in nature.
In the spinoff, when the New Orleans side of the Duncan family gets caught in a vicious turf war with corrupt politicians, dirty land developers, and ruthless crime bosses all vying for the family’s underground casino and night club business, they call on their relatives from New York to help wield their own brand of justice.

Contains spoilers for for John Wick: Chapter 4.
Nothing can stop John Wick. We know that now. But after four movies of increasingly elaborate means of doing his enemies in – gun-fu, horse-fu, book-fu, etc – the time came for Baba Yaga to lay down his arms for good at the end of the fourth John Wick instalment. As you might recall from the latest film, there was that showdown at the Sacre-Couer in Paris between Wick and the Marquis (Bill Skarsgård), which left Wick fairly definitively ascending to the great High Table in the sky. He’s got a grave and everything. He’s gone. Isn’t he?
In an interview with Collider, series producer Basil Iwanyk says that the franchise’s star Keanu Reeves was keen for that death to be definitive – a proper full stop ending to the film (and Wick), rather than a kind of dot-dot-dot. “After the second,...

Spoiler Alert: This post contains details about the ending of John Wick: Chapter 4.
Keanu Reeves was tired at the end of filming the action-heavy John Wick: Chapter 4, and reportedly asked franchise producer Basil Iwanyk to let the character rest in peace.
In an interview with Collider, Iwanyk discussed the end of the film – and the possibility of additional chapters.
At the end of #4, Reeves’ Wick has a battle royale with nemeses Donnie Yen’s Caine and Bill Skarsgård’s Marquis on the steps of the Sacre Coeur in Paris. Longish story short, Wick seems to expire after the showdown.
But nah. Or at least probably nah.
“After the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th movie, making these films is so exhausting and it destroys Keanu, physically and emotionally,” said Iwanyk in the interview. “By the end, he’s always like, ‘I can’t do this again,’ and we agree with him. The...

In “John Wick: Chapter 4″, during a conversation with the Marquis, John Wick’s old friend, the visually impaired Assassin Caine, remarks that, now a fugitive, John has very few friends remaining in the world, and even fewer he could trust with his life. Winston Scott is not only the esteemed manager of the New York Continental, but also a close friend (almost like a father figure) of John Wick. In ” Chapter 3: Parabellum,” the excommunicado John Wick and Winston found a common enemy and joined forces to decimate the operatives sent by the High Table and managed to corner the High Table representative, the Adjudicator, into a parley. The deconsecrated New York Continental gets reinstated, and as a show of fealty to the High Table, Winston shoots John off the roof. However, he had accounted for John’s probability of survival before shooting him, and as a result, John later...

With the fourth entry of the series already gaining massive praise and admiration all around, I guess it can be said without a shred of doubt that as a franchise, “John Wick” has managed to revolutionize an entire genre of action-oriented movies for the modern audience, all the while staying faithful and conveying adulation to the classic action genre. Screenwriter Derek Kolstad’s and director Chad Stahelski’s inventive vision and lead actor Keanu Reeves’ passion led to making the simplistic arc of an urban legend engaging and unique. Through the use of a uniquely choreographed hands-on approach to the fight sequences, wide shots and long takes, appropriate fight settings, evocative visuals, detailed worldbuilding, and a keen sense of self-awareness—the franchise became one of the most influential ones.

It would be physically impossible for Keanu Reeves to keep up the laborious shooting schedule and rigorous action training necessary to make each "John Wick" installment more breathtaking than the last. James Cameron may feel a responsibility to continue making "Avatar" movies based on phenomenal box office success, but Reeves and director Chad Stahelski aren't necessarily beholden to their own iconic franchise. For the executives over at Lionsgate, on the other hand, it wasn't an easy decision to allow their invincible antagonist to finally put down his weapon and ride off into the sunset.
However, "John Wick: Chapter 4" absolutely delivered in every conceivable way with almost three hours of heart-pounding action, gorgeous locales, and a surprising amount of pathos. By the end, it felt only right to let John Wick finally rest, even if it meant an apparently finite death for the character.

Spoiler Alert: Spoilers are ahead for “John Wick: Chapter 4,” now playing in theaters.
Is John Wick really dead? The end of “John Wick: Chapter 4” throws fans of the long-running action franchise a twist by seemingly killing off the eponymous assassin. John participates in a sunrise duel to free himself of the High Table, with his opponent, the Marquis Vincent de Gramont (Bill Skarsgard), nominating Caine (Donnie Yen) to take his place. Caine shoots John and John seemingly misses Caine during the third round of the duel, but John was merely saving his final bullet to kill the Marquis instead.
John sees a vision of his late wife, Helen, while on the steps of the Basilica of Sacré Coeur and seemingly succumbs to his gunshot wounds. Moviegoers see John hunched over on the steps, and then there’s a scene of Winston (Ian McShane) and the Bowery King (Laurence Fishburne) visiting John’s gravestone.

All good things must eventually come to an end — or do they?
That's the ominous question hanging heavy over the proceedings of "John Wick: Chapter 4." Long before the film's shocking ending, which strongly implies that Keanu Reeves' title character gives up the ghost and finally achieves a modicum of peace in death that he rarely found in life, the besieged assassin repeatedly runs up against the idea of what comes next. Late in the new film "John Wick: Chapter 4," the grizzled and bloodied eponymous antihero has a simple task in front of him: climb some stairs. But the simplicity of the task is quickly overtaken by a few trifling details. First, he has only a few minutes to make it to the top of the stairs, at which point he will have to take place in a live-or-die duel, which absolutely must occur at sunrise. Second, a seemingly infinite number of men are lying in wait to stop him from reaching the top of the stairs. Third, John has to climb over 200 steps. Oh, and midway through, John is kicked all the way to the bottom of the stairs, making it so he has to climb them twice. This extended sequence is the "John Wick" series in a microcosm: its simplicity is quickly upended, the various bits of combat are...

John Wick: the man, the myth, the legend. With each and every installment of this franchise, our hero has steadily reinvented himself until he became widely feared as the unstoppable killing machine that haunts the nightmares of the esteemed High Table itself. "John Wick: Chapter 4" always had the makings of a genuine epic, even aside from its giant-sized runtime. The sequel is packed with Biblical quotes, revolutionary imagery from famous paintings, and even overt allusions to Greek mythology. But more than any of that, the climactic battle that closes out the film — pitting Keanu Reeves' John Wick against Donnie Yen's Caine in a duel to the death — makes a martyr out of the Baba Yaga and sends him off into the great hereafter.

International assassin John Wick is one of the fiercest fighters in all of cinema, and that means he needs equally powerful enemies to challenge him. In the latest installment in the franchise, "John Wick: Chapter 4," in theaters now, the titular assassin, played by Keanu Reeves, will face off against his most fearsome foe yet: the Marquis, a vicious bureaucrat who wields red tape like Wick wields his fists.
The Marquis is like the world's most menacing middle manager, a part of the powerful hierarchy of the High Table that control the world of assassins and maintain order in the franchise. Wick hasn't been on good terms with the High Table since "John Wick: Chapter 2," so that means that he and the Marquis have a serious conflict of interest.
Who better to play this corporate creep than one of the freakiest thespians to hit the silver screen in years: Bill Skarsgård.

Late actor Lance Reddick, who died from natural causes at the age of 60 recently, had spoken about the relationship between his character Charon and his boss Winston before his demise.
Lance played the role of Charon, the concierge of the infamous Continental Hotel in the ‘John Wick’ franchise. Charon, even though Winston’s man at work, shares a deep bond of friendship and loyalty with him.
Talking about his character’s relationship with Winston in ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’, Lance had said: “The supremely capable, dignified, and helpful concierge, Charon, is Winston’s right-hand man. Theirs is a bond that transcends employer-employee and even friendship.”
The actor added: “One of the things that’s so interesting about Winston and Charon’s relationship is that it is so close. You get a sense that they’ve been together for many years, probably even before their tenures at the New York Continental.

After going to war with essentially the entire world, and causing the deaths of hundreds of people, “Chapter 4” finally starts pondering the question of just how far John Wick is willing to go for revenge, how many people close to him he’s willing to endanger, and whether it was all worth it. At this point, this is no longer about the killing of his wife and dog, it’s about burning down...

Mumbai, March 14 (Ians) Chad Stahelski, the director of all the ‘John Wick’ movies, who is gearing up for the release of his 4th film from the franchise, has called Keanu Reeves one of his best creative and collaborative partners.
Talking about working with Keanu, the director said: “I’d say first and foremost, I love working with Keanu Reeves. I think he’s one of the best creative, collaborative partners I could have ever wanted.”
Sharing what to expect from the new chapter, director Chad Stahelski said, “John Wick: Chapter 4 transports us in an exciting new direction.
“We continue to uncover new and sometimes unexpected facets of John Wick, and introduce many new characters, who have some surprising connections to Wick. In addition to the action, there is brotherhood and hope, and we explore some emotional threads that were only hinted at in the previous films.”

Plot: The price on John Wick’s head has gone way up. Mr. Wick, however, has a plan to finally free himself from the High Table. Will he succeed with hired guns waiting around every corner?
Review: John Wick has been going through some things. After Chapter 2 and Chapter 3 – Parabellum, the hitman had a price on his head. That’s what happens when you kill High Table crime lord Santino D’Antonio. If that wasn’t enough, his old friend Winstone (Ian McShane) shot him at the end of the previous film. The price has increased as we enter the thrilling new ground explored in John Wick: Chapter 4. Keanu Reeves and franchise regulars Laurence Fishburne, Lance Reddick, and Ian McShane are back. The fourth installment is directed by Chad Stahelski once again. And this wild chapter is written by Shay Hatten (who also co-wrote Parabellum) and Michael Finch. And...

The creatives behind the John Wick franchise must lose sleep at night thinking how they can outdo themselves with each new installment. If so, it makes a strong case for insomnia, since John Wick: Chapter 4 outdoes its formidable predecessors in nearly every respect.
Bigger, badder, bolder, longer, and featuring nearly more spectacular set pieces than one movie can comfortably handle, this epic action film practically redefines the stakes. If at times it’s hard to avoid the feeling that the excessive mayhem is coming dangerously close to overkill, that seems suitable for a film series featuring body counts higher than some wars.
“The bloodshed in Osaka was not necessary,” one character observes after a typically violent melee in a luxury hotel that leaves scores dead and the premises practically in ruins. “The bloodshed was the point,” says another. And so it is with this hugely successful series featuring Keanu Reeves...

The delight of the John Wick franchise lies squarely in its weirdness. The film series famously kicked off with mercenary protagonist and certified wife guy John Wick, played by Keanu Reeves, avenging his dog. But as John’s thirst for vengeance dwindled, the screenwriters decided to surround him with bloodthirsty weirdos rather than kill more of his loved ones. Even better, the films are aware of their own strangeness, lending a campy joy to even the dourest deeds.
The franchise is at its bizarre best in “John Wick 4,” written by Shay Hatten and Michael Finch and directed, as always, by former stuntman Chad Stahelski. The wild world of assassins is more esoteric, the cinematography and choreography more stunning. Though the film stretches to an audacious 169 minutes — just under three hours — if you surrender yourself to the gorgeous silliness of the Wickiverse, it goes by in a fist-flying flash.

In “John Wick: Chapter 4,” the epic culmination of the flamboyantly brutal death-wish-meets-video-game-meets-the-zen-of-Keanu-Reeves action series, our hero finds himself in a Berlin nightclub that resembles a pulsating Bauhaus Eurodisco by way of “Fellini Satyricon.” It’s like a concrete cathedral, with giant mosh pits of dancers throwing their arms up to the heavens as waterfalls cascade down the side walls (it almost looks like it’s raining). But Reeves’ John Wick, as he makes his way through the neon wetness, isn’t dancing. He’s getting ready to start shooting — which, for him, is more or less the same thing. As he skulks forward, oily hair hanging down the sides of his face, the camera glides just ahead of him, framing him like the renegade action demigod he is. We might be in the middle of the world’s most cutting-edge cologne commercial.

More. More. More.
That seems to be the mantra for the fourth edition in the wildly successful John Wick franchise. There is certainly more action with a whopping 14 action sequences, nearly four times the amount in previous Wick flicks; more locations including a Bond-like global journey from Jordan to Japan to Paris to Berlin; and like so many recent films more running time at 169 minutes, and you will want to stay right to the end of the end credits to get the most bang for your bucks.
The John Wicks are indeed progressively getting longer and a little more bloated since the tight 101-minute 2014 original, the 122-minute 2017 Chapter 2, and the 130-minute Chapter 3: Parabellum. This one has grown by nearly 40 minutes, but for the most part never slows down and remains a feast for fans of star Keanu Reeves’ command of this martial arts/gun fu/now car fu too genre.

The Conjuring 2 (2016)
Audiences first met the eerie title character of “The Nun” in the sequel to James Wan’s horror hit “The Conjuring.” Sporting a ghostly complexion, a bad attitude, and a mouthful of rotting fangs that would make Pennywise the clown jealous, the Nun is referred to by several names throughout the film, including the Marquis of Snakes, the Defiler, and the demon Valak.
