The creator of Full House spilled some tea about casting the beloved sitcom, and we learned some exciting new details about how the show came together.
Starring the likes of Bob Saget, John Stamos, Lori Laughlin and more, the show dominated the late ’80s and ’90s. It still has a devoted following to this day.
Creator Jeff Franklin stopped by franchise stars Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber‘s How Rude, Tanneritos podcast to talk the show’s creation and success.
In the process, he revealed two actors who didn’t need to audition for their roles. Jeff also revealed the role that they had an exceptionally difficult time casting.

Nearly two years after Bob Saget’s untimely death, John Stamos is sharing one of the final photos of the two of them and their other Full House costars together. “One of the last pictures of all of us in San Fran in front of the iconic Painted Lady,” Stamos wrote on Instagram on Friday, captioning an Instagram photo of himself, Saget, Jodie Sweetin, Andrea Barber, Dave Coulier, and Candace Cameron Bure. In the pic, the costars are gathered on the front steps of 1709 Broderick Street in San Francisco, which served as the exterior for the Tanner house seen in the ABC sitcom and the Netflix reboot Fuller House. “Full House” creator Jeff Franklin is going down memory lane on Dave Coulier‘s new series, “Full House Rewind”. Franklin appeared on the first episode of the PodCo series, where he and Coulier reminisced about the pilot episode of the popular family comedy, which starred the late Bob Saget, John Stamos, Coulier, Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen.
During the episode, which Coulier dedicated to Saget, Franklin revealed Sweetin was the first actor cast on “Full House”. He shared that after they held the first cast table read, Stamos was ready to get off the show because he was concerned Sweetin and the younger actors would take the spotlight.
“I remembered our first table read,” Coulier said.
“Where there’s a room full of studio and network executives. They were all there to see Stamos, I think,” Franklin recalled.
“Jodie just stole the show,” Coulier remembered.

Jeff Franklin, the creator of Full House, is looking back at how the show began and recalled a moment when John Stamos almost backed out of the series.
The writer-producer-director appeared on the first episode of Dave Coulier’s new podcast, Full House Rewind, which they dedicated to the late Bob Saget.
While talking about the show’s first table read with the actors, Franklin noted that there was a “room full of studio and network executives and everybody who could possibly be there. They were all there to see Stamos, I think.”
But Franklin recalled that “Jodie [Sweetin] just stole the whole thing” with her humor, which he said left Stamos upset because he was afraid the younger stars were going to steal the spotlight.
Coulier chimed in and said he remembers “walking out with John” afterward when the Scream Queens actor told him, “The whole show’s gonna be her.

No matter how good a father is, they’re always going to have faults, quirks, and personality traits that get on our nerves as their children. A dad might be an incredible provider, but that could leave him emotionally unavailable when he gets home from a long day at work. Full House was one of the most beloved sitcoms of the late 1980s/early 1990s. The series centered around Danny Tanner (Bob Saget), a recent widower who enlists the help of his best friend Joey Gladstone (Dave Coulier), and brother-in-law Jesse Katsopolis (John Stamos) to raise his three young daughters. The oldest sister D.J. was played by Candace Cameron Bure, and Jodie Sweetin portrayed the middle daughter Stephanie.
A reboot of the classic sitcom, Fuller House, premiered on Netflix in 2016 but this time revolved around the two girls, along with their friend Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber). Not only were the characters the best of friends, but so were the actors.

Kelly Rizzo, the widow of “Full House” star and comedian Bob Saget, marked the one-year anniversary of his death by taking to Twitter to ask owner Elon Musk to reinstate a verified check mark on Saget’s account. Saget’s Twitter account still boasts 2.2 million followers. The page has not been active since Saget’s passing last January and lost its verified check mark sometime in the last year.
“Hi, Elon Musk – today on the one year anniversary of Bob’s passing, I saw he’s no longer verified?” Rizzo wrote on her own Twitter account. “My husband truly loved Twitter. Out of respect for his legacy, can something be done? Thank you kindly (friends, please help).”
“And the only reason I’m addressing this at all is because I know Bob would be very bummed about this,” Rizzo added. “He’d say, ‘Hey, if someone goes to see my...

Peter Bogdanovich
When Peter Bogdanovich was twelve-years-old, he began keeping a record of every film he saw, even including reviews, a practice he kept up for decades, seeing as many as four hundred films a year. This sparked a love of movies and he was intent on becoming a director. Bogdanovich caught his break when he happened to strike up a conversation with Roger Corman at a screening, who quickly offered him a job.

Jodie Sweetin still has hope for another “Full House” reboot.
It appears the actress doesn’t want to say goodbye to her classic TV character, Stephanie Tanner, just yet as she recently shared an idea for a “Fuller House” reboot, despite the beloved comedy only having ended two years ago.
The 2016 sequel series saw Sweetin and her fellow co-stars from the original sitcom “Full House”, which ran from 1987 to 1995, reunite for the reboot where she reprised her role as the Tanner Family’s middle daughter.

Corny characters are nothing new to television. In fact, our favorite shows have always featured people with exaggerated behaviors and trite one-liners. Corny characters make us laugh, they make us groan, and they epitomize the best and worst aspects of TV storytelling.
We decided it would be a blast to put on our corny caps, and figure out which sappy figures have the most memorable throughout history. Corny has a large variety of interpretations and definitions. Just because these characters are on this list, it doesn’t mean they’re not well-written or acted. It just means they’ve come to symbolize specific aspects of what makes television often outlandish.

Tyler Posey, who played Scott McCall in "Teen Wolf" from 2011 to 2017, will soon reprise his role in the sequel, "Teen Wolf: The Movie." A release date has not yet been confirmed for the film, which is slated to premiere on Paramount+, but we do know that a familiar face will be joining him on screen.
Longtime fans may already know that Tyler's father, John, is also a part of the "Teen Wolf" universe. He will also return for the movie, his son revealed at Comic-Con in July. John first appeared in the 2011 web series "Teen Wolf: Search For a Cure" and later made a cameo in the show's ninth episode, "Wolf's Bane," eventually becoming a recurring character in season four. He plays Dr. Conrad Fenris, the chief medical officer at the Eichen House psychiatric hospital who specializes in the supernatural. Reps for Tyler and John did not immediately respond to Popsugar's request for comment.

Lori Loughlin hit the red carpet on Wednesday night with the wives of her “Full House” co-stars, honouring the late Bob Saget at a fundraising event.
The actress posed alongside Saget’s widow, Kelly Rizzo, and John Stamos‘ wife, Caitlin McHugh, in a floor-length halter gown as the trio smiled arm-in-arm for photographers. Rizzo wore a camel-coloured high-neck dress with ruching, while McHugh opted for a dark floral midi with a thigh-high slit.
Loughlin’s appearance comes as it was announced that she had scored her first new movie role following her involvement in a 2019 college admissions scandal.
Rizzo served as co-chair for the Scleroderma Research Foundation‘s Cool Comedy Hot Cuisine Event, which was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, John Mayer and Jeff Ross. Saget had long been a supporter of the cause — and host of the annual fundraising event — after losing his sister to the disease in 1994.

Actor and vulture John Stamos has announced he will write his memoir. Its origins don’t come from industry expectations or a cheap cash grab but rather something far more heartfelt: the death of Bob Saget.
John Stamos said in a statement that his memoir If You Would Have Told Me is “the book I never planned to write, but after losing Bob, finally becoming a father, and wanting to honor all the colorful people who have made me who I am today, I figured if not now, when?”
Bob Saget, who died earlier this year at the age of 65, of course, co-starred with John Stamos on Full House. They can be goofy. They can be cool. They can be stern. They can be wise. In the 60 years since programs like “Father Knows Best” and “Leave It to Beaver” dominated the airwaves, television dads have changed some, but continue to bring us some of television’s funniest and most poignant moments.

Bob Saget is best remembered for his role as Danny Tanner on the popular TV sitcom Full House.
But what’s likely one of his final acting roles shows a different sort of full house. Saget appears in the Desiigner music video for the song “Bakin” as a chef who tries to give a different meaning to the song title, working a party house in the Hollywood Hills where parental guidance is definitely suggested.
Featuring an opening cameo by Snoop Dogg, who suggests that Desiigner “Get Bob on the job,” Saget is shown in the kitchen cooking some bacon and grabbing cash, with porn star Kendra Sunderland providing some color alongside him.
The song illustrates a wilder side of Saget that was known to friends and comedy clubgoers, but will likely surprise fans who know him only through his Full House character, Danny Tanner.

One of the last clips Bob Saget ever shot wasn’t as the host of America’s Funniest Home Videos, nor as Full House’s clean freak dad Danny Tanner, nor as narrating Ted Mosby in How I Met Your Mother, but as a chef cooking up bacon and catching racks of cash while standing beside half-naked pornstar Kendra Sunderland in a music video for, of all rappers, Desiigner.

Netflix’s Fuller House has been acquired by Gac Family in a rare syndication deal for a streaming series. But how exactly does the fledgling cable network intend to deal with episodes that are, well… fuller?
Whereas episodes of predecessor Full House — which also airs on Gac Family — ran anywhere from 21-24 minutes, the Netflix revival rarely had episodes clock in under 27 minutes, with some (such as the 2016 pilot) running as long as 36 minutes.

If you were a fan of Full House and haven’t been able to watch the sequel series due to the lack of a Netflix subscription, you’ll now have the opportunity to do so. Gac Media has announced that Gac Family (formerly Great American Country) is the new linear home of Fuller House after an agreement with Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution. All 75 episodes will begin airing on the network beginning Monday, February 28. This is the first time the series will be available to viewers on cable TV. Full House began airing on Gac Family earlier this month. Fuller House premiered on Netflix in 2016 and five seasons were released. It followed Danny Tanner’s now-adult daughters, veterinarian D.J. Tanner-Fuller (Cameron Candace Bure) and aspiring musician Stephanie Tanner (Jodie Sweetin), along with D.J.’s best friend Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber) and their families. Phat Tuesdays was the pinnacle stage for Black comedians in the '90s. Created by Guy Torry, it was a space for Black comics to be unapologetic and for Black audiences to be catered to. It was also where some non-Black comedians performed to get a cosign on their material. The upcoming "Phat Tuesdays" docuseries on Amazon Prime Video, directed by Reginald Hudlin, features an appearance from the late Bob Saget as he discusses why he loved performing at the Tuesday night show at The Comedy Store. It also shows the raunchy bits of his standup that earned him the nickname "Bob Ratchet" during a time when many knew him as the wholesome Danny Tanner on "Full House." Popsugar spoke to Torry and Hudlin ahead of the "Phat Tuesday" premiere on Feb. 4, about their favorite memories of Saget, who died on Jan. 9.

As Danny Tanner once explained to Jesse Katsopolis on Full House, talking about the memories of lost loved ones is what keeps them in your heart. So that's exactly what John Stamos did at Bob Saget's memorial service last week. In his speech, published by The Los Angeles Times, Stamos admitted he was "not ready to accept" that Saget was gone and was "not going to say goodbye yet." Instead, he imagined that the 65-year-old stand-up comedian—who was found dead in a Florida hotel room Jan. 9—was still on tour, feeling 26 again (as Saget had noted in his final Instagram post) and missing his wife Kelly Rizzo; his daughters...

Every generation has their own TV dad who becomes so familiar, he’s like a real member of the family. In earlier eras, it may have been Andy Taylor on “The Andy Griffith Show” or Carl Winslow on “Family Matters.” For me, growing up in the 2000s, it was Danny Tanner on “Full House.”
I wasn’t born when the sitcom first aired in 1987, but watching re-runs on TBS became as essential a part of my after-school routine as homework and dance classes. I’ll admit I wasn’t a “Full House” loyalist because of Bob Saget, who died on Jan. 9 at 65 and played Danny Tanner, the wholesome clean freak and father of three girls — D.J. (Candace Cameron), Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and Michelle (Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen). I was unapologetically obsessed with the youngest member of the family, a character who was so popular, she’d make the Olsen twins into tween moguls.

Chicago – There are a couple directions to the long career of Bob Saget, who passed away unexpectedly at age 65 on January 9th, 2022. The first of course was his role as Danny Tanner, the Dad he portrayed in the 1980s sitcom “Full House” and later in the Netflix revival “Fuller House.” The second is his stand-up comedy, whose reputation for filthy jokes had no boundaries. He embraced both sides to the very end.
Robert Lane “Bob” Saget was born in Philadelphia, and was encouraged by a high school teacher to get into the arts. After a stint at Temple University’s film school, Saget moved to Los Angeles to pursue on-air opportunities, and landed with “The Morning Show” on CBS-tv in 1987. Mike Young first met Bob Saget on the set of “Entourage.” The two comedians immediately hit it off, and Saget offered Young an opening slot on a couple dates…which soon turned into 12 years on the road together. As close friends and collaborators, the duo was set to embark on a 20-city tour starting at the end of January. After Saget’s shocking death on Sunday, Young spoke with Variety to share his favorite memories of Saget, reflecting on the legendary comedian’s impact.
“My biggest takeaway from Bob as a comic was his ability to be open and honest. He would crack his heart open and let the audience know who he really was,” Young tells Variety. “You could really see his sensitivity up there.”
Off stage, Saget was a man who loved people. Young recalls a time when the pair flew in to Omaha, Neb., for a show.
