State Of Siege Temple Attack(Zee5)
Directed by Ken Ghosh
To reduce the looming global issue of terrorism to pulp fiction, with the tadka of fireworks and other friction, is akin to making a video game out of the Covid pandemic…archvillain named Covid, etc…you get the picture?
Directed by Ken Ghosh, this feature film very roughly and crudely inspired by the terror attack on Akshardham in Gujarat in 2002 , plays it strictly by the terrorism formula of filmland. The two sides in the messy war are neatly aligned. Once the shoot-out starts there is no room for any kind of subtlety, as the guns boom with the artificially induced kinetic energy of a typical Hollywood survival story….Without the slickness or the intelligent writing.
In fact the writing in this engaging pulp actioner gets so clunky at times that I found myself cringing in disbelief. Let me give you an example.

He also recalls the first time he ever worked with the legendary actor. “I still remember, it was year 1998 when Mr. Bachchan was making a comeback with a movie being directed by Indra Kumar. The star-cast was Aamir Khan, Madhuri Dixit and Amitabh Bachchan.

After a smashing debut with ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’, Harshvardhan Rane is all set for his next big screen outing. The hunky actor will be seen in Aarti S Bagdi’s short film ‘Khamakha’ that revolves around two strangers – Harshvardhan and Manjari Fadnis – who meet on a bus journey and strike a conversation that highlights an oft-seen attitude that English-speaking society largely harbours against the non-English speaking crowd! Having faced a similar bias early on in his struggling days post having left his home, interestingly, this is also what drew Harshvardhan to do this short film.
Recalling his early days in Delhi before he became an actor, Harshvardhan reveals that he realised that not knowing fluent English was almost treated like a handicap by most who he approached for a job. “People are quick to judge the ones who don’t speak English and ‘tumhe English toh aati nahin’ was a...

A forthcoming release of actor turned filmmaker Shreyas Talpade has now been trapped in a legal controversy owing to its publicity gimmick. The film Wah Taj whose release has already been delayed for a year, is currently facing criminal charges from the Agra tourism for misleading tourists. As a promotional campaign, the makers of the film Wah Taj distributed posters across the city of Agra, claiming that the iconic Taj Mahal will be shut down for tourists since September 23, 2016 (which is the release date of the film) followed by the verdict in the Tukaram case. This created confusion amongst tourists and left the Tourism Guild in shock. However, Vice President of the guild, Mahatim Singh soon decided to investigate the matter and it was revealed that the posters were a mere publicity gimmick for the film Wah Taj. But this promotional campaign left them miffed and Singh further added that...

Grand Masti, which released in 2013, has been caught up with the Censor board for the past two years waiting for a clearance to be screened on television. The makers of the film can finally heave a sigh of relief as the Delhi High Court removed the stay on the telecast of Grand Masti on television.
Grand Masti, is an adult comedy which is a sequel to Masti and faced many censorships during its release too. The film which received an 'A' certificate during its release later received a U/A certification in January after over 215 cuts which reduced the film's length from 135 minutes to just 98 minutes. While the film was supposed to be screened on August 21, the television premiere was stalled after a Pil was filed by Edara Gopi Chand through advocate Gaurav Bansal against the telecast of the film.

Today we see a multitude of films being adapted and remade in different languages, however every now and then there are claims of films being copied from others that were previously released. The latest to land in a copyright infringement suite is the film Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon (Kkkpk). In fact, a case has been registered with the Madras High Court stating that the film Kkkpk has been copied from a 2014 Kannada film Nimbe Huli. Commenting on the same Hemanth Hegde, director of Nimbe Huli states that he had sold the rights of the film to a Tamil director K Madesh to be remade, however the makers of Kkkpk have not acquired the rights to remake the film from either Madesh or himself. Further adding, Hegde says that he is now contemplating on taking legal action by filing a plagiarism suit against the makers. On the other hand however,...

Intro: Beginning this week, we bring you another weekly column that dwells on the intricacies of Bollywood and the people who make it. Sometimes funny, sometimes informative, always downright forthright!
Hashmi's Adhuri filming!
This is epic. Not jumping on to Balan's lips must have been a frustrating time for Emraan Hashmi in Hak. It's his haq, you see, of smooching every heroine he is paired up with. In a few films he has also flaunted this 'license' he has been supposedly given by over-enthusiastic directors and ever-willing heroines with some cheesy lines. Every time in Hak, he has gotten dangerously close to Vidya Balan's lips, and then like a good boy, gone for a traditional hug.
Surely, he must be feeling that this was adhuri shooting.
Balan is big when it comes to lip-locks
Speaking of Vidya Balan, she is not averse to kissing, or is in anyway a bad kisser.

Shiamak is known as the Guru of Dance, and has choreographed some of the best dance pieces for stage and screen. To celebrate the choreographer’s birthday, we thought we would shine the light on his work in films! He truly has an eye for creating incredible creativity with his choreography on screen and we know you will enjoy watching every one.
‘Dhoom Again’ – Dhoom 2
The huge success of Dhoom 2 helped to solidify Hrithik Roshan’s career and no doubt his remarkable dance performance in the opening song ‘Dhoom Again’ showed him at his finest. Shiamak was of course responsible for the jaw-dropping choreography that can be seen throughout the song. It’s bold, edgy and something which we have never really seen in Bollywood before. Kudos to Shiamak on giving the song a big ‘dhoom!’

Water a waste of time! Slasher movies work best on terra-firma where girls in a state of disrobed desperation make a dash for safety. Alas, here the characters have nowhere to run to. Neither do we.
In "Warning", the entire slasher genre is shifted to the aqua splendour of the Fijian water where true to its genre, characters start getting killed/wounded/slashed/maimed.

The characters in Anubhav Sinha’s soon-to-be-released Warning 3D may have not paid heed to the warnings, but the producer sure did take heavy precautions during the shoot of this edge-of-the-seat survival film.
Shot in Fiji, the unpredictable deep cloudy waters tell a different story about the deceptive tranquillity of Pacific Ocean. Having at least 35 different species of sharks swimming and the dangerous currents of the Fijian waters, Anubhav Sinha took every safety measure possible understanding well that the perils of the underwater world cannot be taken for granted.
The actors could shoot only for a certain number of hours in a day in accordance to the time and temperature of the water so they wouldn’t fall sick. Dave Judge (action director) and Tack Baldwin, responsible for the safety of the actors, were called in from UK. Nat Geo’s Ken, who is a shark handler, was also roped...

Warning 3D has certainly caught the eye with the release of its trailer. With an interesting storyline, the film is the Bollywood’s first survival film. Shot in the picturesque southern Pacific Ocean with young and gorgeous talent, the film gives out a fresh vibe.

Film: "Grand Masti"; Cast: Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani, Riteish Deshmukh, Sonalee Kulkarni, Bruna Abdullah, Manjari Phadnis, Kainaat Arora, Karishma Tanna and Maryam Zakaria; Director: Indra Kumar; Rating: no rating
We can re-christen "Grand Masti" as "Dildo Chahta Hai". And if that sounds crude then wait till you see and hear what Indra Kumar's new cocksure comedy has in store for you. There is no pulling back from the black hole of luridness this time.
I remember many of Indra Kumar's film featured a particular tree, which the director considers lucky. There is a tree here in "Grand Masti" too, where a rigid college principal hangs any student who looks with lascivious intent at the girls on the campus.
