- Duncan Wellaway was born in 1971 in the UK. He is a director and writer, known for Moon Money, Letters of Service (2004) and Out of Time (2009).
- His film "Letters of Service" won the Kodak/BAFTA Showcase in 2005 and as part of the prize he was taken to Dinard Film Festival, France in that same year. Duncan was looking to cast actors for his next film and by pure coincidence he met Paul McGann at the festival, his first choice for a role in this new project. He got McGann to watch his film at the festival and McGann agreed to be in his next short. McGann then suggested Richard E. Grant for the other role and he agreed as well, leading to the actors first reunion since "Withnail & I" in 1986.
