Rohan Desai is Executive Producer for international VFX at Prime Focus
World, based out of Vancouver. His primary role is to cater to the
international clients of the company, and to streamline processes and
services during projects thereby ensuring a seamless delivery. He has
contributed to prestigious projects such as Immortals (2011), Mirror
Mirror (2012) and a TV commercial for Panasonic (2012), and is
currently working on two Hollywood movies - Yellow (2012) and Nothing
to Fear (2013).
Rohan fulfills a dual responsibility; along with his position as an Executive Producer he also leads the DI (Digital Intermediate) division of Prime Focus as the DI Head and Chief Colorist for India, a responsibility that entails managing the entire creative and business aspect of the DI division.
Rohan started his career with Prime Focus in 2001, and today after eleven years and 350 projects, he is considered to be a veteran in film post with a huge relationship base with most of the Bollywood industry's prominent cinematographers and directors. Among the key Digital Intermediate projects, Rohan has been involved with are Ekk Tha Tiger (2012),Ra.One(2011), Guzaarish(2010),My Name is Khan (2010), New York (2010),Sawaariya(2007)and Black (2005) to name a few. In his initial years, Rohan was also involved with the film Musafir(2004) for which he won the Zee Cine Awards, for Best VFX.
Rohan has always held client-facing roles, and he believes that one of his main strengths is creating and maintaining relationships.
