Just how unlucky can someone get? That’s the question for Special Agent Justin Rosa (Kevin Dillon), arriving late for his first day on wire room duty. After being chewed out by surly superior Shane Mueller (Bruce Willis), the necessary exposition is shared about Justin’s role; to monitor and keep alive arms-smuggler Eddie Flynn (Oliver Trevena).
After examining the rules that he must follow, Justin is bored by the slow-moving pace of the job. As he leaves to use the bathroom, that’s the exact moment a Swat team descend on Eddie’s home to execute everyone inside. Justin panics upon returning as he sees the chaotic situation and breaks protocol by contacting Eddie directly to save his life.

The family of Bruce Willis announced Wednesday that the actor is stepping away from acting after being diagnosed with the cognitive disorder aphasia, but new reporting suggests that Willis’ health decline was affecting his work on the set of recent films.
In January of 2020 on the set of the film “Hard Kill,” actress Lala Kent told the Los Angeles Times that Willis twice missed his cue to fire a gun. The actress said she asked the film’s director, Matt Eskandari, to remind Willis to say his line before firing the gun, but on two takes Willis fired the gun before delivering the line, taking the actress by surprise. “Because my back was to him, I wasn’t aware of what was happening behind me. But the first time, it was like, ‘No big deal, let’s reset,’” she said.

Several of Bruce Willis’ recent directors spoke to the Los Angeles Times about the concerns they felt while working with the actor in the years leading up to Wednesday’s announcement that Willis has aphasia and is stepping away from his acting career. Aphasia is a language disorder caused by brain damage that affects a person’s ability to communicate. The directors witnessed the effects of Willis losing his mental acuity, which often resulted in the actor being unable to remember his dialogue. Mike Burns, who directed Willis in “Out of Death,” said he was asked to reduce the actor’s speaking parts in his film.
“It looks like we need to knock down Bruce’s page count by about five pages,” Burns wrote in a June 2020 email, obtained by the Times, to his film’s screenwriter. “We also need to abbreviate his dialogue a bit so that there are no monologues,...

Exclusive: Having just wrapped the Gerard Butler thriller, The Plane, actor Oliver Trevena signed on to star in and Executive Produce the indie feature film, Wire Room, which began principal photography in Birmingham, Alabama last week.
Written by Brandon Stiefer, Matt Eskandari will direct for Five Star Films. Randall Emmett and George Furla will also produce alongside Trevena.
“It’s an action-packed script and I’m loving every second of playing the crazy ‘Eddie Flynn.’ Kevin Dillon has been amazing to work with and to star in a movie alongside Bruce Willis is definitely something off my bucket list. Additionally, it’s been an amazing project to break out as an EP alongside a team of veteran producers.”
In the film, Trevena is Eddie Flynn, an infamous Irish arms dealer who smuggled high-powered Russian-made weapons for South American rebels during the war. He ends up on the run after a bloody gang war.

Iranian-American director Matt Eskandari is attached to helm Breakers, a political action-thriller written by Janice Eymann and David Rollins.
Breakers is based on the 2009 presidential elections in Iran and the ‘firewall’ the regime put up to try to choke dissent.
It follows two parallel stories that merge; one of students writing algorithms to pierce the firewall, and a retired CIA agent who takes a team of four ex-Special Forces into Iran to rescue their female asset who has proof the election was rigged.
Eskandari’s recent credits include three Bruce Willis-actioners: Hard Kill, Survive The Night and Trauma Center. The director immigrated to the US as a child with his family following the Iranian revolution.
Eymann, CEO of Filmworks Company, and Rollins are producing the project with Tim Maddocks of Maddfilms. The executive producer is Jomon Thomas (Hotel Mumbai).

We all know that Bruce Willis spends most of his acting days appearing in cash-grab cameos in an interminable number of direct to market films; films that pop up on supermarket shelves with Willis’ face front and centre as if he’s the star. Hard Kill is yet another example of this stage in Willis’ oeuvre.
Hard Kill is also yet another Emmett/Furla production, a company who seem to be following the Pm Entertainment model of churning out action movie after action movie, with actors who are either long-term mid-carders or, like Willis, are in the twilight of their career. I’m not complaining. There was, for quite some time, a distinct lack of mid-budget original action movie fare made in the US.

Nothing will ever be able to take away Bruce Willis‘ status as an iconic action hero, based entirely on the fact that he starred in Die Hard, which is arguably the finest ever entry in the genre’s long and illustrious history. As well as appearing in a further four sequels, the rapidly receding actor also went on to feature in box office hits and cult classics like The Last Boy Scout, The Fifth Element and Armageddon to name but three.
However, the 65 year-old is apparently determined now to torpedo his reputation by lending his name to a consistent string of terrible bargain basement action thrillers that occupy the darkest depths of the VOD market, many of which are so irredeemably awful that even Nicolas Cage would probably turn them down.

There’s an entire generation of movie fans that likely have no idea that Bruce Willis was once one of the biggest and most popular stars on the planet, such is the speed at which the action icon has descended into mediocrity. As if the countless VOD bargain basement titles that he constantly shows up in aren’t enough of an indication that he’s thrown in the towel, the 65 year-old recently appeared as John McClane in a commercial for car batteries.
You’d arguably have to go back to Rian Johnson’s 2012 sci-fi Looper to find the last time Willis gave a great performance, which isn’t encouraging when he’s pumped out a further 25 movies since then, most of which have never seen a theatrical release. A new action thriller starring Bruce Willis is now available to watch on demand, but you may not want to. Hard Kill is currently sitting at the infamous 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but for those of you feeling intrepid enough to check it out, this is what to expect:
Mercenaries find themselves racing the clock to stop a world-changing computer program from being triggered.
In Hard Kill’s defence, there is a caveat to lend to its 0% rating. Only 12 Tomato-certified critics have reviewed it so far, a much smaller sample size than you’d see for mainstream releases. I can also offer the fact that it clocks in at just under 100 minutes, meaning that you won’t be subjected for very long. However, awful films have a habit of making even the smallest units of time stretch into infinity, so even that may not be a positive.

Hard Kill sounds like a fake movie that people in a movie would go and see. The upcoming action thriller stars Bruce Willis as a billionaire tech CEO who’s hired a team of mercs to guard a new, lethal gadget. Things go pear-shaped, though, when Willis’ character’s daughter is kidnapped by terrorists and his security chief Derek Miller (Desperate Housewives’ Jesse Metcalfe) must chase down the baddies, rescue the girl and save the world. The movie is heading to select drive-in theaters and VOD on August 28th and now, a new clip has been released showing masked men firing guns at each other in a warehouse.
I know it’s unfair to judge a film before I’ve seen it, but this is just about the most generic gunfight I’ve ever witnessed. You have a bunch of anonymous masked men firing wildly at one another yet hitting nobody,...

"If you want to survive, we're gonna have to work together." Another day, another awful new action movie with Bruce Willis. Too many of these already. Vertical Ent. has released a trailer for the action thriller Hard Kill. The work of billionaire tech CEO Donovan Chalmers is so valuable that he hires mercenaries to protect it, and a terrorist group kidnaps his daughter to get it. Another description says they must "stop a world-changing computer program from being triggered." Bruce Willis stars as Chalmers, with a cast including Jesse Metcalfe, Natalie Eva Marie, Tyler Jon Olson, Swen Temmel, and Texas Battle. This looks as cheesy and boring as every other Bruce Willis action flick these last few years. There isn't a scene where he doesn't wear the same scarf. I don't know why they keep making them, I don't know who watches them. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Matt Eskandari's Hard Kill,...

That Bruce Willis grimace. It’s almost as much a trademark as his smirk. When the actor’s mouth tightens and his eyes squint in “Survive the Night,” you’d like to think it’s because his character is feeling the pain. Emotionally, Frank’s estranged from his son. After a run-in with the movie’s two baddies, the retired sheriff will be hurting physically, too.
Not long into the action, a grimace becomes the only appropriate response to this try-hard flick, directed by Matt Eskandari and written by Doug Wolfe, about what happens when two brothers on the lam violently enlist the surgical services of Frank’s son. Chad Michael Murray plays Rich, who’s in the process of rebuilding his life after a malpractice suit ended his burgeoning medical career. "Used to be the big dog in town... Don't try anything." Lionsgate has debuted an official trailer for the home invasion action thriller Survive the Night, which looks pretty much as generic and as forgettable as they come. How do they keep getting made? Bruce Willis has done it all.
He’s defended Nakatomi Plaza from Russian terrorists (Die Hard), saved the planet from a stray asteroid (Armageddon), and cultivated superpowers across Unbreakable and Glass, two entries in M. Night Shyamalan’s mind-bending trilogy.
But for his latest, he’s venturing into the realm of home invasion thrillers. Whereas Hostage placed Willis in the shoes of a hostage negotiator though, Lionsgate’s Survive the Night sees the action great square off against two criminals who threaten his family.
It’s due to release digitally on May 22nd, and has been rated R for “violence, bloody images, and language throughout.” Put simply: it’s an old-school thriller starring Bruce Willis as its lead character, and People has today relayed the debut trailer. Bruce Willis has a new action thriller coming out called Trauma Center. It’s a hospital survival thriller and Willis takes on the role of Lt. Wakes, “a vengeful police detective determined to solve the murders of his partner and an informant.” As you’ll see, this is the kind of movie that Willis sleepwalks his way through. It’s sad when Willis looks like the least interesting part of the movie.

"Maddie! Don't make this harder than it already is!" Lionsgate at Home has debuted the first official trailer for a new low-grade action thriller titled Trauma Center, which is one of those vague and terrible titles for a film that doesn't setup anything. Alone and trapped in a locked-down hospital ward overnight, an injured woman must escape a pair of vicious killers who are after the only piece of evidence that can implicate them in a grisly murder - the bullet in her leg. Luckily, a veteran cop is assigned to protect her, and he becomes her protector as the night grows more dangerous. Bruce Willis stars as the cop, and Nicky Whelan as the woman, and also featuring Steve Guttenberg, Tito Ortiz, Texas Battle, Lynn Gilmartin, Tyler Jon Olson, and Heather Johansen. This definitely looks as bad as it sounds, another bargain bin collectible. Here's the first official trailer...

One Tree Hill alum Chad Michael Murray, Shea Buckner, Tyler Olson, Lydia Hull, and Jessica Abrams are set to co-star opposite Bruce Willis in The Long Night, an action thriller from Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films.
Directed by Matt Eskandari, the pic follows two ruthless criminals who break into a disgraced doctor’s home to be given medical attention after one of them is shot during a robbery gone wrong. Knowing that he lacks the expertise to patch up the injured trespasser, the doctor must protect his family at all costs.

Bruce Willis has been brought aboard the action-thriller The Long Night, from Matt Eskandari, and screenwriter Doug Wolfe.
Willis will star in the film wherein “two ruthless criminals break into a disgraced doctor’s home to be given medical attention after one of them is shot during a robbery gone wrong. This sounds like a very Bruce Willis type role with lots of action and suspense. This movie is still very early in development, but in the mean time, we will see Willis in the Eskandari directed film Trauma Center, as well as the upcoming Die Hard franchise film, McClane, and the soonest film coming out, the crime drama Motherless Brooklyn, which will be out in November.
Are you excited to see Willis in his upcoming action and drama roles?...

Knowing that he lacks the expertise to patch up the injured trespasser, the doctor must protect his family at all costs.”

Actress Nicky Whelan has been cast to star opposite Bruce Willis in the upcoming action movie “Trauma Center.”
Whelan, whose past credits include the Farrelly brothers’ “Hall Pass,” “The Wedding Ringer,” “Knight of Cups” and “Left Behind,” will play Madison opposite Willis’ Lt. Wakes in the film.
“Trauma Center” was written by Paul da Silva and is being produced by MoviePass’ Randall Emmett, George Furla and Lydia Hull.
The production begins principal photography this month in Miami.
The title represents part of a three-picture deal Willis recently signed with MoviePass Films — representing a longtime working relationship the actor has with Emmett and Furla, with whom he’s made more than 10 films, including 2011’s “Catch .44.”
Matt Eskandari is directing.
Whelan is repped by Luber Roklin Entertainment and Innovative Artists.

Whether you're afraid of the water or not, finding yourself trapped beneath a pool cover might fall into your "worst nightmare" category, and that's exactly what two sisters face in 12 Feet Deep, the new thriller from Matt Eskandari. With the swimming pool-set film out now from MarVista Entertainment, we caught up with director and co-writer Matt Eskandari for our latest Q&A feature to discuss working with Tobin Bell (Jigsaw from the Saw movies), the challenges of filming underwater, and much more.
Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions for us, Matt. How and when did you and Michael Hultquist first come up with the idea for 12 Feet Deep?
Matt Eskandari: I'm still ashamed to admit it, but even as a grown man, I still cannot swim. I have extreme anxiety around large public pools. The smell of chlorine and the loud reverberated sounds inside get me on edge.

A trailer has surfaced for a new horror thriller called 12 Feet Deep. The story centers on two girls who somehow get trapped under the cover of a public swimming pool. As someone who is claustrophobic, this seems like it would be a nightmare. Apparently, the film was inspired by real events.
There are no ghosts or pool monsters in this film, but they do attempt to make things a bit more interesting by adding a seemingly crazed janitor. Here's the synopsis:
Sisters Bree and Jonna get trapped beneath the fiberglass cover of an Olympic sized public pool after it closes for the holiday weekend. They find themselves at the mercy of the night janitor, Clara, who sees the trapped sisters as an opportunity to solve a few problems of her own.
The film was directed by Matt Eskandari and I'm kind of curious to see how the film plays out.

Usually when someone throws down a gauntlet, there’s an epic tussle for power that runs people ragged. A fantastical showing of dynamic feats. A gauntlet is something we should fear, something that’s challenging, and most importantly, something really freakin’ entertaining. Matt Eskandari’s film The Gauntlet isn’t a total wash, because there are most certainly moments of thrilling excitement and impending doom – but not as many as there should have been. Eskandari’s eye for atmospheric detail did wonders for the sunken castle set production, but Adam Lawson’s screenplay unfortunately missed that epic “Wow” factor that Eskandari shot for – ultimately leaving us in a battle with our own attention spans.
Meet David (Warren Kole). He’s just woken up in some medieval-looking location, has no recollection of how he got there, and is laying on a pile of bones. Probably not the best scenario to be in,...
