Was an infielder with the Boston Red Sox (2004-2012[start]), Chicago White Sox (2012[end]), and New York Yankees (2013).

Inducted into the Portland Sea Dogs Hall of Fame in 2013.
2-time All-American at the University of Cincinnati. Member of the
Sycamore High School 1994 AAU National Championship squad.
In 2004, named the club's Rookie of the Year by the Boston chapter of
the Baseball Writers' Association of America.
Played third base in his first two seasons in Boston because he would
be temporarily called up, but currently plays first base full
season.
Made major league debut on 15 May 2004. Played in final major league game 13 June 2013.
Had a wedding ceremony with ex-girlfriend Enza Sambataro in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico on November 9, 2008. However they never filed the paperwork needed to make the marriage official and split up shortly after.
