- Thomas Nittmann grew up in New Jersey where he attended Stevens Institute of Technology and earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering. After graduating, Nittmann moved to Germany where he designed and implemented manufacturing software for Wilhelmshavener Raffineriegesellschaft mbH. He later returned to the US and began working in Ernst & Young's Management Consulting practice. During his tenure at Ernst & Young, Thomas led and managed global IT projects for Fortune 500 companies in the United States, Germany, and Canada.
Leaving Ernst & Young to start his own IT Consulting company, Dataxstream, he met the Brothers Strause while working for a client in Los Angeles. He began working with the Brothers Strause in 1996, developing production pipeline software for their visual effects company.
In 2003, Greg Strause and Colin Strause, former business partner Edson Williams, and Nittmann created, Lola Visual Effects, a sister company to Hydraulx, which focuses primarily on digital cosmetic enhancements for feature films. Nittmann now serves as executive producer where he draws from his extensive technical background and management consulting experience.
