Last year, it was announced that Fighting with My Family co-stars Nick Frost and Lena Headey were going to reunite to work on the serial killer thriller Svalta, which was set to start filming in Finland soon. Well, the movie was shot in Finland and production recently wrapped, but Headey had to drop out of the project due to scheduling issues before it started rolling. Deadline reports that her character ended up being played by Aisling Bea, whose previous credits include This Way Up, Living with Yourself, and Home Sweet Home Alone.
Svalta was directed by Steffen Haars (New Kids Turbo) from a screenplay Frost wrote himself. The story follows a family on their summer vacation to a remote island where they discover a serial killer is on the loose. Unfortunately for them, the locals have no interest in helping the stranded family. The title is taken from the name of the fictional island.

Gillian Anderson (X-Files) has been cast along side Haley Joel Osment (The Sixth Sense), Rufus Sewell and Victor Garber in a sci-fi mystery called I’ll Follow You Down.
The movie is being directed by Richie Mehta, and the story is "about a scientist, Gabriel (Sewell) who mysteriously disappears during a business trip, devastating his wife Marika (Anderson) and young son Erol (Osment). Erol and his grandfather (Garber) years later make a shocking discovery about Gabriel’s whereabouts."
Producer Lee Kim had this to say about the film and the casting of Osment when it was first announced...
Richie has penned a script that tells an emotionally charged, thrilling story while staying true to the sci-fi genre. Our main challenge was to find the right actor to play the lead role of Erol – one that requires the perfect balance of innocence, honesty and intelligence; Haley provides just that.

Two bits of geek casting news have popped up today. Haley Joel Osment (The Sixth Sense) has been cast in I’ll Follow You Down, according to Deadline. Richie Mehta (Amal) wrote and directed the film, which follows "a scientist who mysteriously disappears after a business trip, only to have his son Erol (Osment), make an eerie discovery about his whereabouts, several years later."
Mehta was nominated for 6 Genie Awards for Amal in 2009, including Best Film, Direction, and Screenplay. The sci-fi film will be produced by Lee Kim under his Resolute Films and Entertainment banner, with filming slated for May in Toronto, Canada. The screenplay was developed with financial support from Telefilm Canada and the Harold Greenberg Fund. Here is what Kim had to say about the project:

We see dead people.
Okay, not actually dead. But if you've been searching for Haley Joel Osment in recent years, you might be forgiven for thinking his career was dead given how little he's been doing. Hey, growing up is a full time job.
Now that he's a man, though, Osment is back in the game — and according to Deadline, he's about to star in the upcoming sci-fi thriller "I'll Follow You Down."
Not that Osment ever really got out of the business entirely; for the last few years he's wisely been keeping himself on the radar by doing some cool video game voiceover work while avoiding the dreaded child actor jinx. Now he's ready to step back in front of the camera for what Deadline is describing as "the story of a scientist who mysteriously disappears after a business trip, only to have his son Erol, played by Osment,...
