Born in Bran, Rumania in the shadow of Dracula's castle, graduate in
mathematics with a B.Sc. from Transilvania University, Brasov, Dana
first worked in television. She then studied computer animation,
obtaining a specialist diploma from Alias Wavefront. She started her 3D
career in Romania at Tiny Creatures, an animation and visual effects
studio where she was in charge of rigging, facial expressions and
modeling. Her career led her to Montreal where she first worked as a
modeler and texture artist for a film production company, Galafilm &
Lone Monkey Company Inc. and a game company, Side City. She next worked
as a rigger at Meteor Studios on different film productions such as
Exorcist: The Beginning, Alien Planet, Librarian and Extension
Experience. In November 2007, she joined NAD Centre, Montreal, as a
permanent instructor in 3D animation of video games. In May 2008 the
Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema awarded her the Fuji Award in Film
Animation for her short film Spherationships. In August of 2008 she
debuted her film Abstract Trilogy at the World Film Festival in
Montreal.
