Director Len Wiseman ('Underworld', 'Underworld: Evolution') has got one hell of a busy schedule coming up. Not only has he been named to take helming duties on Warner Bros. Pictures' 'Gears of War' adaptation, based on the best-selling video game series, but now he is taking on his second comic book adaptation (along with 'Atlantis Rising' by Joby Harold) in the form of 'Shrapnel' - the sci-fi based story by Radical Publishing. Army of the Dead is one of those projects that inches along ever so slowly. Hell, we've been talking about it since 2007. Last year, Matthijs van Heijningen came aboard to direct, but his commitment to another project may be stalling any work on Army . According to producer Zack Snyder ( Watchmen ), the film - about a quarantined Vegas overrun with zombies - is on hold until Matthijs van Heijningen finishes Universal's The Thing . Known for his work in commercials and music videos, Heijningen jumped aboard the latest incarnation of The Thing in January ( details ).
