James Franco has '127 Hours'

15 hours ago | FEARnet | See recent FEARnet news »

James Franco (Spider-Man) will star as mountaineer Aron Ralston in 127 Hours, Danny Boyle's 'man vs nature' style follow up to Slumdog Millionaire. According to Variety, The 'true life story centers on Ralston who spent 5 days with his right forearm pinned under a boulder during a climb in May of 2003. He used a dull knife to amputate the limb and then scaled a 65 foot sheer wall and then hiked out before flagging down a family that gave him food and water. He was finally rescued by helicopter'. Filming begins in March in Utah for a late 2010 release. Sounds like it could make for a great double feature with Adam Green's Frozen. »

'Hatchet 2' Gets Two Fresh New Faces

6 January 2010 1:40 PM, PST | Horrorbid | See recent Horrorbid news »

I can only imagine what Adam Green, director and mastermind behind the cult classic Hatchet, has to do to get these poor souls to sign the dotted line for the Hatchet sequel. "Hey, ahh do you want to be put through hell and back and slaughtered by a deranged drooling maniac? Ps We may rip your face open?" Knowing how much fun they have on set I am sure they quickly realize getting drenched in stage blood can be fun....

Nick Principe (pictured on the right), best known to horror fans as Chrome Skull in Robert Hall's Laid to Rest, wrote: "its offical..Ive Been Cast In Hatchet 2 !!!!!!! Thank You Adam (Green) And Kane (Hodder)...I'd rather die than let you guys down." from his Facebook page.

In addition, per Hatchet 2's IMDb page, the lovely Alexis Peters (pictured below) will be portraying a character named Avery.

Frozen Q&A with Adam Green

5 January 2010 5:23 PM, PST | DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news »

We've all heard about films sometimes being really hard to make. The conditions director Adam Green made his upcoming film Frozen under were nothing short of psychotic. Dread Central received a Q&A with Green in which he sheds a lot of light on this chilly new project!

Frozen starring Shawn Ashmore, Emma Bell, and Kevin Zegers makes its debut at Sundance 2010 and will then be playing in select theatres on February 5th courtesy of Anchor Bay Films.

Why did you want to make Frozen?

While I can never predict what my ideas will be or where they will come from, as soon as I had the basic beats of the story and the characters for Frozen, I knew it had to be the film I made next. The concept of being left behind on a ski lift really struck a chord with anyone I brought it up to, and »

Adam Green Blogs Frozen and Hatchet 2!

2 January 2010 4:47 PM, PST | DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news »

It seems like almost every great horror film has an eerie story around production: The Exorcist, The Omen and Three Men and a Baby have all spawned their own creepy lore and, thanks to a recent blog post, it looks like Adam Green's Frozen might be joining those ranks...

Green updated his MySpace Blog with a spooky anecdote:

We scouted many, many mountains in and around Salt Lake and Park City, Utah as I tried to find the perfect chair lift. It had to be old and rickety like the chairlifts I was used to riding at the East Coast dives that I grew up skiing on. It had to be in an area that had the same type of greens and trees found in New England. It had to be on a trail that we would be able to negotiate shutting down to shoot on during the height of ski season. »

'Hatchet 2' a Gift to the 'Hatchet' Army

2 January 2010 11:59 AM, PST | Horrorbid | See recent Horrorbid news »

This Monday production begins on Hatchet 2, Green's slasher sequel starring Kane "Jason Voorhees" Hodder and our generations scream queen Danielle Harris. Excited about the February 5 theatrical release of his film Frozen, Adam Green updated his blog today waxing nostalgic about Hatchet and what fans can expect from Hatchet 2....

With Green hot on the heels of production of Hatchet 2, the writer-director reflects back on some of the Hatchet ups and downs and makes sure to let us know, if you liked Hatchet you'll love Hatchet 2.

"From the day I wrote it and my agents told me they didn’t believe in it, from the now infamous rejection letter I received from a major studio that said “though the writing is brilliant, unfortunately this film will never get made because it’s not a remake, it’s not a sequel, and its not based on a Japanese one »
