Bernadette Peters and Lea Salonga will be returning to Broadway in 2025.
The Tony Award-winning actresses previously starred in the West End production of Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends in London in late 2023 and now they’re bringing the show to the U.S.
Old Friends is a revue of the late Sondheim‘s greatest hits with a star-studded cast.
The show will have its North American premiere at Los Angeles’ Ahmanson Theatre in February 2025 before heading to Broadway at the Manhattan Theatre Club’s Samuel J. Friedman Theatre in March 2025.
Producer Cameron Mackintosh said, “Old Friends was Steve‘s idea, born during lockdown, when he suggested it was time (and we had plenty of it!) we put together a third review of his work, to follow from the worldwide hit Side by Side By Sondheim in 1976 (my first!) and Putting It Together (which Julia McKenzie directed at the Manhattan Theatre Club...

Exclusive: There’s some seriously scary stuff going on at London’s National Theatre as the venue prepares for a musical version of Roald Dahl’s The Witches that will feature book and lyrics by playwright Lucy Kirkwood, who’s also an executive consultant on Succession.
Music and lyrics are by Dave Malloy, who won acclaim for the book and score he wrote for Broadway show Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812.
The show is a co-production between the National and the Roald Dahl Story Company.
Katherine Kingsley (The Larkins) will play the Grand High Witch, whose only objective is to eliminate all children from the planet and turn them into mice. “She’s a tyrannical narcissist, truly she’s really evil. There’s no escaping the fact that she’s a bad person,” Kingsley told us.
“It’s a great role,” she laughed. “There’s a lot of fun to be had with her,...

Britain's Got Talent continued its exciting semi-final week tonight (May 26) as Old Men Grooving and Jules O'Dwyer and her performing dog Matisse advanced.
The best news came for Jules and her dancing pooch as they actually earned an automatic advancement by topping the public vote, while Old Men Grooving beat Revelation Avenue in a second-place battle.
Dance troupe Groove Thing, contortionist Bonetics, illusionist Michael Late and singer Alison Jiear were given less encouraging news, as they won't be moving on.
We gather reactions to tonight's Britain's Got Talent episode below:
1. The surviving acts have their supporters – and their very famous detractors!
Old men all the way #Bgt

Revelation avenue are off. And the revelation is that too much fried chicken is bad for you #Bgt
— Katie Hopkins (@KTHopkins) May 26, 2015
I fear Britains running out of talent #Bgt
— Chris Stark (@Chris_Stark) May 26, 2015
@alisonjiear it should be rebranded '@Bgt.

Anabel Kutay and Chris Piper have become the first contestants to leave BBC’s So You Think You Can Dance.
After performing a Samba and a Jive routine in the first live show, viewer votes left couples Hayley & Chris and Anabel & Drew having to ‘dance for their lives’ in solos in front of the judges. The four gave their all in the final thirty seconds to save their place in the competition, and judges chose to eliminate Anabel and Chris, saving Hayley and Drew.
Of the final performances from Hayley and Anabel, Nigel said:
“Hayley, you are a wonderful technician and you seem to pick up any genre you are given. If you are to stay in this competition though you are to add more Hayley into the performances.”
“Anabel you’re so beautiful you remind us all of Penelope Cruz, and we’ve always had so many high expectations for you.
