After two weeks with lackluster ratings, "Those Who Kill" has found itself shelved by A&E.
The Chloe Sevigny crime drama, based on a Danish series inspired by Elsebeth Egholm's books, will be yanked from the schedule immediately, THR reports on Wednesday (March 12). Season 2 episodes of "Bates Motel" will fall back an hour, occupying the now vacant 10 p.m. slot.
The network says a new time slot for the show will be determined soon, as they support the show and believe it will be able to find an audience -- just, you know, not on Mondays at 10.
Paired with "Bates Motel," the March 4 opener of "Those Who Kill" pulled in a moribund 1.4 million viewers, shedding nearly half of its lead-in audience of 3.07 million who tuned in for the return of the "Psycho" prequel. The freshman drama's second outing fared even worse, pulling in just 830,000 total viewers

A&E is pulling Chloe Sevigny drama Those Who Kill from the schedule. The freshman detective drama based on the Danish format and inspired by Elsebeth Egholm's books will be pulled from the schedule effective immediately, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. A&E will move sophomore drama Bates Motel back an hour, to the 10 p.m. slot, to replace Those Who Kill. A new time slot for the latter is to be determined later this week, as the network likes the show and has faith that it can find an audience. A Bates Motel repeat will air at 9 p.m. and

Sitting in a posh hotel suite in Pasadena, Calif., James D'Arcy, British star of the A&E Network serial-killer drama "Those Who Kill," premiering Monday, March 3, recalls taking the first-time plunge into an open-ended TV series.
"The nature of television is you have a vague idea of where you're going, but that can change," he tells Zap2it. "It's the first time I've done something where I don't know what the end was when I accepted the role. It's the first time I've done anything where I didn't read all the scripts."
"That's always challenging for me as well," says his co-star, Chloe Sevigny, who's done film, stage and TV series ("Big Love," "Hit & Miss," "American Horror Story: Asylum"). "You don't have any control."
Luckily, both are doing a show with a TV veteran at the helm. Glen Morgan ("Wiseguy," "The X-Files," "Millennium," "Bionic Woman") adapted it from the Danish...

Here's the very spooky, very murder-y first trailer for A&E's upcoming drama Those Who Kill. Chloë Sevigny stars as a recently promoted homicide detective who sometimes ignores police protocol and takes her cases too personally — on account of her brother's still-unsolved disappearance years ago. (The wounds, they never heal.) The series is based on a Danish crime drama that itself is based on a series of Danish crime novels by Elsebeth Egholm, so it has that extra-dark sexual torture vibe we've come to expect from shows like The Killing or The Bridge. Twk premieres in March.

Playing a police detective who tracks down serial killers on A&E Network‘s dark new drama series Those Who Kill could be draining, star Chloe Sevigny said — but not nearly as draining as guesting on The Mindy Project. ”I did Mindy and went home and cried,” she told TV critics at the TCA Winter TV Press Tour today, because she thought she’d done terribly on it. At the end of each work day on Those Who Kill, however, she went home and thought she’d done alright. Doing HBO’s polygamist drama Big Love was also trying, she said, because “everybody was yelling at her all day because everybody thought I was the bad guy.” Related: TV Teaser: A&E’s ‘Those Who Kill’ Those Who Kill is based on a popular Danish crime series format inspired by the bestselling work of author Elsebeth Egholm. The A&E network is gearing up for the release of Those to Kill and now actress Chloë Sevigny has signed on to help lead the cast. So far, there’s nothing not to like about this upcoming American series.
Those to Kill will be based upon the Danish crime series of the same name. Well, in Danish, it’s called Den som dræber. Don’t forget that adapting a Danish series has worked for A&E already. Their hit, The Killing, ran for two critically applauded seasons in the States and was based on Denmark’s series, Forbrydelsen, which translates more closely to “the crime”.
The Danish Those to Kill show was inspired by the crime novels of Danish author, Elsebeth Egholm. There are at least ten books, so let’s hope our upcoming version of Those to Kill lasts more than just two seasons.

Fans of Scandanavian drama (or at least American remakes thereof) take heart. While AMC axed "The Killing" this afternoon, A&E is moving ahead with another murderously titled show in "Those Who Kill," and have brought on Joe Carnahan to help get it off the ground. Based on the Danish series of the same name, which itself was based on the books by Elsebeth Egholm, the show will follow a detective and a forensic profiler who track down serial killers. And at least in Denmark, the concept had some success. The original run spawned a two-part, 10-episode series that was followed by a movie. But like "The Killing," dipping ratings led to the show getting canceled. But perhaps A&E can do better here. Glen Morgan ("Final Destination," "The X-Files") has penned the script and Caranhan will tackle the pilot, marking his first time in small screen territory since "Faceless...

While AMC's adaptation of a Danish procedural "The Killing" has run for two seasons with mixed success, A&E is investing in a Scandinavian remake of its own. According to Deadline, the network has purchased the Us rights to and ordered a pilot made for "Those Who Kill," a 2011 Danish crime drama based on the novels of Elsebeth Egholm and set within a fictitious unit in Copenhagen police force created to investigate serial murders. The original stars Laura Bach as a detective who works closely with a profiler played by Jakob Cedergren, and features a few actors who also appeared in the original "The Killing," including Lars Mikkelsen. "Those Who Kill" is structured around a run of cases instead of just one, like "The Killing," which makes it closer to the more traditional Us procedural in structure than AMC's drama. "The X-Files" scripter Glen Morgan has been brought on to write the script for.
