Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender was released earlier this year and opened to mixed responses. While the show was lauded for its casting and VFX, there were criticisms directed at the writing and quick pacing of the show. There have been no official confirmations about a second season, which would adapt the second season of the animated show, Book 2: Earth.
Many of the actors in the cast of Avatar: The Last Airbender seem to be excited for a second season, including actor Daniel Dae Kim. Dae Kim played the role of Fire Lord Ozai in the Netflix adaptation and mentioned that he would be intrigued to see the true madness of the character in season 2. However, he too was not entirely sure of a second season happening.

Before you get all nervous, The Last Airbender: The Legend of Korra is a not a sequel to M. Night Shyamalan's multiple Razzie award winning [1] (or is it losing) film The Last Airbender. It is, however, a sequel to the wildly popular and critically acclaimed animated television show Avatar: The Last Airbender on which that crappy film [2] was based. Set 70 years in the future, The Legend of Korra follows a new Avatar named Korra whose attempts to master the final element, air, leads her to a brand new, steampunk influenced city. After the jump, check out two images from the show, a detailed description as well as the full cast list that includes Lost's Daniel Dae Kim, Aliens' Lance Henriksen and Spider-Man's J.K. Simmons. Paramount, which owns Nickelodeon, first announced the series last summer [3] hot on the heels of the film and at the time,...

Of all places for a world reveal, The Wall Street Journal has obtained our first real look at Korra, the protagonist for Avatar: The Last Airbender's sequel mini-series aptly titled, Avatar: The Legend of Korra.
As previously reported, Korra takes place some 70-odd years after the conclusion of the Aang gang's adventures in overthrowing Fire Lord Ozai, as Korra, a hot-headed rebel from the Southern Water Tribe works with Aang and Katara's son Tenzin to master the art of Airbending against a city-wide anti-bending revolt.
The WSJ also released the voice cast for the 12-part miniseries, which carries some impressive clout of its own, including Lost's Daniel Dae Kim as "Hiroshi Sato," Millenium's Lance Henriksen as "Lieutenant," Mad Men's Kiernan Shipka as "Jinora," Married with Children's David Faustino as "Mako," a character presumably named for the late voice actor behind the original series' Uncle Iroh, the...

You’ve already seen the silhouette version of Korra, star of Nickelodeon’s new “The Last Airbender” TV series, “The Legend of Korra”, but here’s a better, action-y look at the star herself courtesy of the Wall Street Journal (via Topless Robot). (And no, I have no idea when the Wall Street Journal started doing “exclusive” postings of animated TV show news, so don’t ask.) As for the cast list, here are the names and their characters: Janet Varney as Korra, Kiernan Shipka as Jinora, Daniel Dae Kim as Hiroshi Sato, David Faustino as Mako, Sheychelle Gabriel as Asami, Lance Hendrickson as Lieutenant, and Jk Simmons as Tenzin. Look for the show on Nickelodeon sometime in 2012. Here’s the previous pic in case you missed it:...
