Lucky for you, Alliance has released a great selection of films that can entertain fans of any genre. Keep your eyes open for Coraline, Nothing Like the Holidays, Away We Go, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, Easy Virtue, Sin Nombre and 17 Again.

Q: Dear Omniscient Primate: What do you think of the strongly implied love between Dean Winchester and Castiel on Supernatural? Everyone is talking about “Wincest,” but it seems that the potential and actual romance between a man and an angel doesn’t get enough focus. Do you see any chances of an on-screen kiss between the two? -- Marc
Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Castiel (Misha Collins) do some
awfully close talking in a recent Supernatural episode
A: As much as it saddens me to say this, I think you’re practicing wishful thinking, probably because Jensen Ackles and Misha Collins are two of the three hottest actors currently on TV (the third one being Jared Padalecki!).
That said, the actors definitely have a terrific chemistry together, probably because – and again, »

Genre great Clive Barker is the star of Spain’s Sitges ongoing movie orgy today (see last report here and go here for the fest’s official site), as both his new productions, Book Of Blood and Dread, will be unveiled back-to-back at 12:30 a.m. Barker himself will be receiving the event’s prestigious Time Machine award for career excellence and conducting a “Master Class” for festival goers the next day.
I briefly enjoy catching up with Barker and his assistant, Robb Humphreys, in the hotel lounge. It’s unfair of me to bend Barker’s ear for long, though. The man has never been to Sitges before, so it’s time to let the large numbers of Spanish fans and professionals have their own audience with the creator of Hellraiser, Nightbreed and Abarat. I do glean that his Midnight Pictures banner still has a deal to »

Mpc has updated their website with some behind-the-scenes VFX breakdowns of what you can see in “Dorian Gray.”
Dorian Gray (Ben Barnes) is a young man of impossible physical beauty whose portrait painted by the artist Basil Hallward (Ben Chaplin). Drawn into a corrupt and sensual life by the dissolute Lord Henry Wotton (Colin Firth), Dorian remains young and beautiful, while the painting ages in his stead.
The movie directed from the script by Toby Finlay also stars Emilia Fox as Lady Victoria Wotton, Rebecca Hall as Emily Wotton and Rachel Hurd-Wood as Sybil Vane.

“Based on a play by Noel Coward.” That’s a statement that’s got some oomph. Coward’s long been held as a master of wit, with plays like Blithe Spirit, Design for Living and Private Lives still well known long after his death. The film Easy Virtue is based on a play by Coward, and takes some of the design of his play, but it’s obvious that this is a modern redress, which is both interesting and not. My review after the jump.
Jessica Biel stars as the American Larita, who marries into the Whitaker family and to John Whitaker (Ben Barnes), after the two meet when she wins the Grand Prix. Very American, Larita does nothing to impress John’s mother (Kristin Scott Thomas), though his father (Colin Firth) is an eccentric and takes a shine to her immediately. John’s sisters are on the verge of becoming old maids, »

British actress Tamsin Egerton has laughed off reports she is dating Ben Barnes, insisting the pair is just good friends.
The St Trinian’s star sparked rumours she and Barnes were a couple after she visited him in Australia earlier this month as he filmed new movie The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
A source tells Britain's Mail on Sunday newspaper, "Tamsin hooked up with Ben a couple of times and there was a lot of talk about how close they were."
But Egerton is adamant she is just pals with the 28 year old - and even tried to get him to go on a date with a friend of hers.
She tells the publication, "I tried to set him up with one of my friends once but he wouldn’t bite." »

The opening passage of Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray is simply a sublime piece of writing, oozing with sumptuous language and stuffed with images of decadent lethargy which typify the lifestyle of Lord Henry Wotton, the corrupting force behind the downfall of beautiful young Dorian. The new film based on the book, however, opens with Dorian murdering an unseen victim, then dragging the body in a chest to the docks and dumping it in the Thames. It feels a lot more like the London of From Hell than the one conjured up by Wilde in the book’s early stages, and Dorian Gray the motion picture is a lot more hammy and playful than its source material. But is this ham a succulent one? Dorian Gray roughly follows the course of the book, with Dorian (Ben Barnes) granted unending youth and beauty and a life of endless »

Time flies when you're having fun! I'm surprised that we're now doing the 4th update of the Top 50 Hottest Young Actors list! This time, I'm pretty sure the debates will be hotter, more 'personal' as fans defend their favorite actors and argue why "Robert Ulliel" (Who's that?) should be on top and not "Gaspard Pattinson" or "Joseph Gordon-Gosling".

- - - The Hitlist History, so far... During the first Top 50 Hitlist, it was Ryan Gosling who took the top spot. With his mesmerizing performance in Half Nelson and an Oscar nom for Best Actor for the same movie, he led a pack of awesome talents including James McAvoy, Jake Gyllenhaal and Gaspard Ulliel among others. The 2nd time we did the hitlist, the movie world was swept away by the Twilight fever, and before anyone recognized how 'hot' he was, Robert Pattinson was already at the top of our list. »

Ben Barnes only gets attention from 12-year-old girls. The 'Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian' actor is currently single and claims he can't find someone his own age who is interested in him. The 28-year-old star said: "I haven't got a girlfriend, I'm single. Send the girls my way! "The only letters I am getting at the moment are from 12-year-olds because of 'Narnia'!" Ben also admits getting naked on screen in his new movie 'Dorian Gray' helped him shed any inhibitions he had. He said: "I was doing things I hadn't done before, like kissing a man. I was naked with a 17-year-old on the first day. "It was weird until 10 minutes later when you go, »

A Tiff sponsor has made Jennifer Connelly cry, Oprah is already in town, very few flicks look to be acquired and it's become the George Clooney show (for a number of good reasons). Those are just some of the storylines dominating the first few days of the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival, but let's talk about the movie themselves shall we? As always, Toronto is a mix of awards contenders (or pretenders) and new films looking for distribution. Up and coming English actor Ben Barnes has said that he hopes his career will be as successful as Colin Farrell’s. The star of the new film “Dorian Gray” said that both he and the famous Irish actor started their careers with less-than-desirable jobs, which is why he looks to Farrell for inspiration. "Oh yeah, of course I've mopped up sick in nightclubs before but I'm comforted by the fact that Colin Farrell auditioned for Boyzone – he's just a brilliant actor and someone whose professional life I admire," Barnes told the Britain’s Press Association. "If my career can go anywhere near that I'll be happy." Barnes himself used to sing for a boyband, Hyrise, before hitting it big with his starring role in “The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.” "I'd be a moron if I didn't recognize that being in a film like that helped me to get »

Actor Ben Barnes is nursing a swollen lip after a stunt for the new The Chronicles Of Narnia movie went horribly wrong.
The Brit star is currently in Australia filming his role as King Caspian in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, which is due for release next year.
But while filming scenes with co-star Skandar Keynes earlier this week (begs07Sep09) a sword stunt backfired - and Barnes had to receive treatment for an injury to his mouth.
He says, "We've been sword fighting. It didn't go quite according to plan - I've got a slightly swollen lip, because I got popped with the sword by young Skandar Keynes." »
