With its riveting story and incredible 11-season run, Frank Darabont’s horror-drama series, The Walking Dead, has solidified its place in popular culture. The AMC series ended its run after 177 overwhelming and entertaining episodes, but it is still winning our hearts. Indeed, the undead universe is thriving more than ever, as evidenced by several acclaimed spin-off series, including The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, starring the inimitable Norman Reedus.

Due to its great popularity, the second season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon has already been renewed. Well, if you’re a fan of The Walking Dead, you probably already know that the cast and crew spend a lot of time together filming. And with such close quarters and long hours on set, it’s no surprise that they might have a complaint or two about each other.

Prime Video’s Fallout TV show is the perfect video game adaptation. It treats the source material with utmost respect and carefully expands its mythology; works closely with the original video games’ developers to ensure its quality and lore accuracy; and adds numerous subtle references and Easter eggs for Og fans.
While we’ve already covered some of the most brilliant game mechanics that found their way into Prime Video’s new series, this one is a very special case.
This Unique Mechanic Adds Life to Video Games
Most open-world games, Fallout included, make use of the random encounter mechanic: it means that sometimes, players come across some dynamic situations or interesting characters on their travels that they can interact with. From a small talk with someone you meet on the road to a massive shootout, random encounters add life to video games and make the player feel like the world is truly dynamic.

Despite the popular misconception, Prime Video’s Fallout TV show followed not three but four main characters — but while the three most prominent of them shared their goals and crossed their paths on a regular basis, the last one was left alone. He’s often not even considered a main character at all, but his story proved to be the most intriguing and nerve-wracking in Season 1.
Norman’s Often Regarded as a Side Character
Norman MacLean, Lucy’s little brother, stayed in Vault 33 when his sister ventured out into the Wasteland to find their father. With that, his story as a minor character seemed pretty much concluded — except it wasn’t as he was not a minor character. Throughout Season 1, Norm had his own story and a hefty amount of screen time.
Surprisingly, many Fallout TV show fans often claim that there are three main characters in the series, overlooking Norm entirely.

The Walking Dead franchise has spawned multiple shows, comic series, and video games, each of which has been fairly popular in its own way. The Og show, starring Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Lauren Cohan, and Danai Gurira in the lead, went on for 11 seasons, before concluding in 2022.
Danai Gurira and Andrew Lincoln in The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live
But did you know that the show was supposed to run for four more seasons with two characters taking the lead after the exit of Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira? Lincoln’s Rick Grimes left after season 8, and Gurira’s Michonne made her exit in 10. While Reedus’ Daryl Dixon took the lead after Grimes left to join the Crm, he too was going to make his way out of the Twd universe. At this time, Lauren Cohan’s Maggie and Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan were supposed to take over.

After a trip to a state appeals court, a lawsuit from actress Hayley Marie Norman accusing ABC, Tracee Ellis Ross and Kenya Barris of lifting ideas from a show she’d been pitching that she alleges was turned into Black-ish spinoff Mixed-ish without her involvement has been dismissed.
The 2nd District Court of Appeal found that the lawsuit shouldn’t have been allowed to proceed against Ross and Artists First, a production and management company that counts her and Barris among its clients. It said, in a ruling issued on Tuesday, that “all of Norman’s claims arise from protected activity,” reversing the trial court and delivering a finishing blow to her lawsuit.
In a statement, Michael Plonsker, a lawyer for Norman, said “We strongly do not agree with the appellate decision.”

Carol Peletier, played by Melissa McBride, is arguably the most riveting character in The Walking Dead franchise.
Calculating and cold-hearted at times but comforting when she needs to be, Carol walks the line between hero and anti-hero, never once failing to bring pathos to her character.
Imagine the intrigue of fans when AMC Networks announced that The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2 will be subtitled "The Book of Carol."
Hmm. We've got to do something about that title.
What does "The Book of Carol" mean, anyway? Is it a biblical allusion like The Book of Enoch or The Book of Eli?
Or is "The Book of Carol" in reference to a book Carol is writing during her time away from the original Grimes clan, perhaps a book of poetry inspired by non-confrontational walkers?
Carol's presence on The Walking Dead, while mesmerizing, is not exactly a strong narrative pull, at least as a singular protagonist.

Almost moments after Sophia Bush was discovered in a relationship with former US soccer player Ashlyn Harris, the rumor mills churned out enough sensational gossip to drown out the voice of reason of an entire population. But the actress was steadfast in her resolve to not let the outside world color her newfound sense of self and her ability to feel alive again.

I'm sure you all know the famous, then-shocking twist of Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho." Marion Crane (Janet Leigh) is set up as the film's protagonist; the opening scene is an intimate moment between her and lover Sam Loomis (John Gavin), who can't commit until he pays his debts. So, she impulsively steals $40,000 from her boss' client. Surely the movie will be about her on the run.
Well, it is for a while, but then she makes it to the Bates Motel. She chats up polite young innkeeper Norman (Anthony Perkins), but his elderly mother sure seems creepy. With an hour to go, Marion is murdered by a knife-wielding assailant in the motel shower (a scene so scary it left Leigh scared of showers). The film's second half becomes a new story about Sam and Marion's sister Lila (Vera Miles) investigating her disappearance. They stumble onto the truth -- that Marion was killed by Norman,...

David Anspaugh's 1986 sports drama "Hoosiers" has gone down in history as one of the most influential sports dramas ever made. Partly inspired by the real-life story of the 1954 Indiana state champions Milan High School, "Hoosiers" focuses on formerly-disgraced basketball coach Norman Dale (Gene Hackman), who gets a rare second chance to prove his mettle at Indiana's Hickory High School. The rather tight-knit town of Hickory seems a little too unforgiving towards Norman due to his sketchy past, but redemption finds its way to him via a David vs. Goliath situation that soon transforms into a classic underdog tale about dreaming big and achieving the impossible.
Some of the more saccharine themes in "Hoosiers" might feel a tad corny at times, but it is a film that brandishes sincere authenticity when it comes to the magic of unexpected second chances and the highs and lows of small-town sports. Moreover, a...

A stark wooden cross stands in a moonlit cemetery in the opening episode of Fallout, Amazon’s eccentric and capacious adaptation of the video game series. From each arm hangs an IV bag that feeds a yellow liquid into a grave. There lies the body of Cooper Howard (Walton Goggins), an erstwhile cowboy who struck gold as a western film star before being blacklisted for alleged communist affiliations. Cooper lived in a distinctively retro-futurist United States. In this alternate universe, the 2070s were marked by escalating war between America and China and seemingly stuck in the 1950s, with black-and-white TVs and classic cars—plus robots that helped apron-clad homemakers around the house. Then the bombs fell, in a bout of mutually assured destruction that eradicated almost all life on Earth.
More than 200 years after the nuclear calamity, a trio of wary mercenaries dig up Cooper’s tomb and find a coffin chained shut.

The first trailer for Netflix’s animated reboot of the iconic ’70s sitcom Good Times was released last week, and the reaction has been… let’s say, mixed.
The original Norman Lear sitcom ran for six seasons from 1974 to 1979 and earned praise for its portrayal of a working-class Black family. The animated reboot follows a new generation of the Evans family as they keep their heads above water in a Chicago housing project, but the tone of the trailer, complete with a drug-dealing baby, didn’t exactly rub fans the right way.
While speaking with THR, original Good Times stars John Amos (James Evans) and BernNadette Stanis (Thelma) shared their thoughts on the trailer. Both actors made it clear that they aren’t ready to pass judgment until they’re able to see full episodes. “I really can’t form an opinion, as I’ve not seen any of the episodes yet,...

Stars of the original Good Times are weighing in after the trailer for Netflix’s forthcoming animated reboot led some fans to question whether the new project will indeed be “dynomite.”
Celebrating its 50th anniversary this year after premiering in February 1974, Good Times focused on the Chicago-based Evans family, with the Norman Lear-produced series running for six seasons and earning praise for its realistic portrayal of a working-class Black family. After the first promo debuted last week for Netflix’s animated exploration of the Evans family’s current generation, plenty of social media users expressed surprise that the new series — which appears to double down on stereotypes with such elements as a drug-dealing infant — didn’t highlight the positive themes from the initial show.

At times, 9-1-1 can be spectacle television.
What other show do you know that's been able to have a tsunami, landslide, and sinking cruise ship disaster happen throughout its run and pull it off with such aplomb?
But that's never been all there is to 9-1-1. The characters are the heartbeat, which is so often not the case on standard procedurals, and that mixture of spectacle, found family, emotional warmth, and humor has always set it apart.
9-1-1 Season 7 returned from the strike-induced elongated hiatus like it had something to prove.
Moving from Fox to ABC breathed new life into a show that will conclude this season with over 100 episodes to its credit, a feat that's very rare these days.
Choosing to usher in its ABC run with perhaps the biggest spectacle of all could have been seen as a gamble, even though it's something the series is historically known for doing.

Someone get the Bobby Nash upper body and core workout routine and send it my way.
With the cruise ship going full-on Poseidon Adventure, Bobby and Athena had to step up and lead a tattered and bruised group up and across the broken boat if they wanted any chance at getting off that floating death trap.
9-1-1 Season 7 Episode 3 was the finale of the thrilling three-part premiere, and it was a pretty perfect conclusion to what's been a refreshing start to the series' seventh effort.
The scale of this hour is enormous. They pulled out all the stops to bring this upside-down cruise ship to life, and it could not have been easy.
The visual of everyone on the roof and poor Norman strapped to a roulette table hanging above them isn't something you'll soon forget, as anybody who has spent years clinging to the three-parter's inspiration knows.
It's just a tremendous set piece,...

9-1-1 fans can breathe a massive sigh of relief after Thursday’s conclusion to the season’s three-part premiere, now that Bobby and Athena are finally back on land — and back in the saddle. (Bow-chicka-bow-wow!)
Of course, not everyone fared quite as well as the 118’s Mom and Dad this week. For starters, remember that guy who “just wanted to cash out” on the ship? Well, he cashed out all right… from life. He was the episode’s first official victim, leaving just a handful of survivors to make their way off the boat.

Spider-Man: No Way Home was an immaculate experience for fans. It was surprising, and the hammer on the nail to lift Tom Holland to an engrossing height as Spider-Man. Also, remarkably, the nostalgia the movie created fascinated Marvel fans as the movie went on to receive immense accolades from both fans and critics.
Spider-Man and Doctor Strange in Spider-Man: No Way Home
With the surprising comeback of the previous Spider-Man actors Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield creating the union of the live-action Spider-Man trio, the movie also marks the reappearances of the iconic villains. Alongside Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus, fans also saw Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin and Jamie Foxx’s Max Dillon. With that note, Marvel fans may have certainly missed one or two details of the movie.

If there's someone you want to be on a potentially deadly cruise with, it's Athena Grant-Nash.
While the cruise from hell kept getting decidedly worse, Athena and Bobby found themselves in a terrifying position during 9-1-1 Season 7 Episode 2, which had them prepared to say goodbye to one another for the last time.
If that sounds terribly dramatic, it absolutely was. But it's also 9-1-1 at its very best.
When the credits rolled on 9-1-1 Season 7 Episode 1, pirates had come aboard the ship, and it looked like things were about to get real. And they did, but not necessarily in the way expected.
From the exceptionally effective and invigorating media blitz leading up to the premiere, we've always known there would be an explosion on the ship. But once those pirates entered the equation, it wasn't clear how the two connected, if at all.
Well, now we know.

With the pirates now aboard Bobby and Athena’s cruise ship, Thursday’s episode of 9-1-1 saw the couple’s honeymoon go from bad to worse to underwater, as the premiere trilogy claimed its first (named) victim.
It all began with the terrorists demanding that Norman hand over his “dongle,” a very specific word that was used approximately 75 times in this single conversation. And just when we thought we’d heard the word in every possible iteration, Athena turned to the head hijacker and declared, in that booming Angela Bassett voice, “He doesn’t have any damn dongle!”

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live has been building up to a reunion of sorts between Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira), and it’s one fans have been waiting more than five years for.
Despite reuniting in the series premiere, they have been continually driven apart by the Crm and Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh).
Thankfully, that all changed on Sunday’s new episode, which found the lovers working through their issues and reconnecting as they embarked on a mission to return to their loved ones.

Norman Jewison, a seven-time Academy Award nominee who directed the 1968 Best Picture Oscar winner “In the Heat of the Night” as well as Oscar winners “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Moonstruck” and numerous other iconic films, is dead. He died peacefully on Saturday at his home.
A filmmaking giant in the 1960s, ’70s and ’80s, Jewison was undeniably one of the most prominent producer-directors never to have won an Oscar – though he was honored with the prestigious Irving G. He was nominated three times for his directing: “In the Heat of the Night” in ’68 (losing to Mike Nichols for “The Graduate”), “Fiddler on the Roof” in 1972 (William Friedkin won for “The French Connection”) and “Moonstruck” in 1988 (won by Bernardo Bertolucci for “The Last Emperor”).
