A brand new chapter in the Baldur’s Gate saga launched today with the arrival of the Siege of Dragonspear expansion pack from Beamdog. While it is only an expansion to the Enhanced Edition of the original game, it reportedly features over 25 hours of new gameplay content.
Siege of Dragonspear bridges the gap between Baldur’s Gate and Baldur’s Gate II: Shadows of Amn. By expanding on the saga of the Bhaalspawn, the expansion offers more of the classic Baldur’s Gate gameplay that fans know, love and have been able to rediscover since the Enhanced Edition launched in 2013.
This first new game in the Baldur’s Gate series for over a decade includes a whole host of features as confirmed by the developers:

About a week ago an interesting viral-marketing “teaser” for a short film titled "Mech: Human Trials" surfaced all over the interwebs. It appeared under the guise of a PSA warning people against the use of a new street drug known as Mech. The drug is supposed to speed up recovery, but things seem too good to be true for the unfortunate users.
This week the short film by director Patrick Kalyn went live online. In the six-minute short we see Luke, played by Steve Baran, beginning to lose touch with humanity as he is consumed by the drug. The side-effects of Mech apparently include destroying human tissue and replacing it with mechanics. He begins a search for the mysterious suppliers of the drug in order to try to save himself before he becomes more machine than man.
I had the pleasure of talking with the director of the film, who...

"352 days since their arrival." There's another new sci-fi short film that just hit the web that many folks are flipping over already. I've received numerous emails linking me to this film Hybrids, an 8-minute science fiction alien action/revenge short written & directed by Patrick Kalyn. It stars Daniella Evangelista as a badass warrior girl who fights her way through a number of blue-blooded alien creatures, with weapons. It's pretty cool for something made for nearly nothing and is the directing debut of Kalyn, a visual effects artist on films like Avatar, District 9 and King Kong hoping to make this his big debut. It's worth a watch below. From Vimeo: An ex-special forces soldier seeks revenge after losing her daughter at the hands of an alien infestation. The film was written & directed by Patrick Kalyn, with cinematography by Cliff Hokanson and music by Sam Hulick, produced by Gabriel Paul Napora & Triton Films.

BioWare and Electronic Arts have announced the final batches of downloadable content for “Mass Effect 3”: “Citadel” is a single-player campaign expansion, while “Reckoning” is a multiplayer pack containing new weapons, maps, and skins.
Like all multiplayer updates so far, “Reckoning” will be free, but “Citadel” will run to the tune of $14.99, or 1200 Microsoft Points on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. Neither the press release or official statements on the game’s forums mention the Wii U version of the game, which launched with some Dlc, but not “Leviathan” or “Omega.”
“Reckoning,” introduces new character classes to “Mass Effect 3”’s co-operative, Horde-like multiplayer section. In addition to the debut of the Krogan Warlord, Geth Juggernaut, Female Turian Raptor, Talon Mercenary, and Alliance Infiltration Unit, “Reckoning” features new weapons and equipment mods as well. The multiplayer pack will be available next week, on the 26th.
Meanwhile, as a capstone to the long-running Shepard trilogy,...

How big? According to Eurogamer, big enough to require an eight-person writing team which will include lead writer Mac Walters. The untitled Dlc is being developed by BioWare's Edmonton studio, and according to one of the company's designers, that number represents pretty much the entire writing team there.
But BioWare's not just throwing a bunch of writers at the next story set (presumably) in and around "Mass Effect 3."
Seth Green is making his "Mass Effect 3" Dlc debut in a return to his role as Normandy pilot/resident joker, Joker. Also returning is "Mass Effect 3" composer Sam Hulick, whose work can also be found in "Baldur's Gate" and "Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad" as well as "Mass Effect 2."
So what will the next piece of Dlc entail? It's anyone's guess, but each one has dealt with the same problem of getting their hooks into a player who may or may...

An additional 16 minutes of tracks from composer Sam Hulick are available on the BioWare site.
Didn't get enough the sounds of humanity's last stand? BioWare is making the soundtrack to the Extended Cut available to BioWare social users (login required).
Sam Hulick was in part responsible for the full Mass Effect 3 soundtrack along with Clint Mansell, Christopher Lennertz, Cris Velasco and Sascha Dikiciyan. Hulick has worked on all three games to date as well as scoring Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition and (this is a cool one I'd forgotten about) Maximo vs. The Army of Zin.
The Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut Dlc is available now for free on the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
