Fame almost cost actor Taylor Lautner a role in Twilight - because he was auditioning for the two films at the same time.
The actor, who plays wolfman Jacob in the vampire romance franchise tried out for a lead in Fame alongside actress Keke Palmer, who reveals all to website Mmm.com.
She explains, "We were both up for roles in the movie, and we both didn’t get parts. He wouldn’t have been able to do Twilight if he did Fame, so I’m happy he lost out." »

- Coming to DVD next Tuesday (September 29th) via Lionsgate, I haven't looked at the B.O numbers, but I think Shrink may be one of those Sundance titles that works better on DVD than theatrically. I like the camera work here in this scene below, no allusions to what plot developments may occur further down the road between Kevin Spacey's shrink character and that of the actress client -- the jaw dropping beaut Saffron Burrows. The DVD is stocked with your regular items: deleted scenes, audio commentary and on-camera interviews with the director Jonas Pate and producer Braxton Pope, along with the music video “Here” by Jackson Browne. Here's the clip and synopsis: Henry Carter (Spacey) is L.A.’s top celebrity psychiatrist with an A-list clientele, including a famous actress (Burrows), a wildly insecure young writer (Mark Webber), and an obsessive-compulsive super-agent (Dallas Roberts). Disillusioned with both his career and personal life, »

“True Jackson is taped before a live studio audience.”
I hadn’t heard anything like that on Nickelodeon since the before time, in the long, long ago. I’ve gotta admit, when I heard them at the start of my hellacious endeavor I had flashes of Clarissa Explains It All and Kenan & Kel. For a brief moment, I tried to make an effort to view True Jackson, VP from the perspective of a 10-year-old kid, tuning into Nick every morning, afternoon and night like clockwork, hurrying through dinner so I could catch the second half of the Ren & Stimpy I’ve seen thousands of times already. For a brief moment, I was hoping there would be something in True Jackson I could get behind besides it being "Taped Before a Live Studio Audience". It was at the three minute, fifty-eight second mark, when True “hilariously” fell down, for the second time, »

The Teen Choice Awards were filmed in Universal City last night, but you'll have to wait until this evening to see them on the air. If you want all the spoilers, check out the full winner list here. The show was full of fun moments and, of course, lots of artful cutaways to check in on the Twilight kids. The Jonas Brothers looked like they were having a blast hosting the big night, which began and ended with their performances. They also participated in a series of fan-chosen dares throughout the night - including Nick hugging fans and Joe getting a faux-haircut. Britney's big moment came after a sweet introduction from Miley Cyrus, but Brit didn't hang out on stage long. Her standard short thank-you-to-the-fans speech was enough, but she looked fantastic in her minidress. Speaking of showing some skin, Miley's performance of her new single involved some tiny shorts »

Last night's Teen Choice Awards brought many lovely ladies onto the grass carpet. Short and sweet was the theme of the evening, with most of the stars choosing something perfect for the hot Summer day. Britney Spears and Fergie opted for embellished LBDs, while Kim Kardashian showed off her new hair color in a white number. Vanessa Hudgens went with pretty blue, while Kristen Stewart took a break from chilling with Robert Pattinson and continued with her Joan Jett rock-star look in her metal-fringed Rock & Republic frock. How did she sit in that dress? Emma Roberts and Miley Cyrus accented their outfits with statement jewelry, while Audrina Patridge was all about purple with her dress and clutch. Selena Gomez and Glee's Lea Michele were almost twins in their similar one-shoulder dresses - for lots more of last night's fashions, head over to Fab, while Bella has the lowdown on the beauty looks! »

Actor takes on the role of troubled psychiatrist to the stars Henry Carter in his new film.
By Eric Ditzian

Henry Carter has seen better, less foggy days. He passes the time in a marijuana-scented fog, sucking down joints as if he needs them to breathe and barely able to keep his eyes open and his overcooked brain engaged at work. And work, it just so happens, is as a therapist to the Hollywood glitterati. He's made oodles of cash writing the best-selling self-help books "Stop Being Sad" and "Happiness Now," but the gloom-ridden guy just can't seem to follow his own advice.
Luckily, Kevin Spacey, who plays Carter in the new indie film "Shrink," has a fail-safe remedy for humanity's eternal quest to stop being sad: acting.
"I think acting is the most healthy, expressive profession one could go in," he told MTV News in a recent interview. »

Kevin Spacey, who has spent too much of the 10 years since "American Beauty" coasting by on hammy snark, reminds us he's an Oscar-winning actor as a psychotherapist to the stars in "Shrink."
There's an actual depth to his depressed, self-medicating Henry Carter, author of the best-selling "Happiness Now." Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of the surrounding movie, which comes from his production company.
Henry virtually chain-smokes weed when he's not neglecting his self-absorbed patients, who include an aging -- she's past 30 -- actress (Saffron Burrows), a paranoid uber-agent (Dallas Roberts, very funny) and an alcoholic, »

For years, lazy screenwriters have ham-fistedly signaled the emotional growth of marijuana-smoking protagonists by having them throw away their pot, or flush it down the toilet. Willie Nelson and Snoop Dogg could subsist for centuries on all the pot discarded by older, wiser, more mature film characters. Jonas Pate’s Shrink goes even further. It isn’t enough to merely show Kevin Spacey’s grief-addled cheeba-fiend getting rid of his stash; no, he must then return, doobie-free, to the spot where he smoked pot. And he has to explain to a precocious client (Keke Palmer) that he used to love ... »

Saffron Burrows is not a beleagured, once-famous actress. She just plays one in the movies -- in Shrink, specifically, opening Friday and featuring Kevin Spacey as Henry Carter, a pot-loving therapist to the stars who battles listlessness, grief and professional dereliction while dealing with a fraught cross-section of Hollywood talent. There's horndog action star Jack (Robin Williams), Ocd-addled agent Patrick (Dallas Roberts), motherless teen and pro bono case Jemma (Keke Palmer), screenwriter godbrother Jeremy (Mark Webber), and, of course, Kate Abramson (Burrows), the gorgeous movie star better known for her failing marriage than her most recent hit.
In the spirit of Short Cuts, Magnolia, Crash and other ensemble yarns of Angelenos in crisis, director Jonas Pate ties them all together, with Carter's own quest for catharsis leading the way. The lovely Burrows talked to Movieline this week about the emotional costs of fame, the advantages of being English in Hollywood, »
