Pajiba is reporting that James McAvoy is attached to play James Bond creator/author, Ian Fleming, in a big screen biopic. The project is currently hunting for a director, though Matt Brown penned the script based on Andrew Lycett’s biography of Fleming.
Fleming had a life and personality that mirrored his famous creation. By his own admission he always drank too much, smoked too much and loved too many women — all of which contributed to an early death at only 56 years old.
Fleming came from wealthy Scottish banking family and was a world traveler from a very early age. During World War II, he was recruited into the Royal Navy Intelligence where he organized plans like Operation Goldeneye. His military background gave him a wealth of ideas for his Bond novels and he eventually retired to Jamaica where he penned his first Bond novel, Casino Royale.

One of the major releases of summer 2010 is Disney’s adaptation of the popular video game, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The action-adventure film stars Jake Gyllenhaal as the title character and is produced (in his trademark style) by Jerry Bruckheimer.
The Prince of Persia trailer released in November to a slightly mixed reaction here at Screen Rant and part of that is due to the history of the genre lacking in quality and not staying true to the key elements of the games.
In addition to the teaser, we’ve seen some behind-the-scenes footage including the first Prince of Persia featurette which focused on the character of Dastan (Gyllenhaal), his background and his journey within the film. This second video we have below focuses on The Sands of Time itself in the form of the magical dagger that represents the plot device of the video game and this movie. »

Disney has revealed the first look at the latest Jerry Bruckheimer action film for the Mouse House, featuring Nic Cage. The film is one we have been covering for awhile now and its called The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. Based on the classic Fantasia skit, this modern retelling is directed by veteran director Jon Turtletaub. The movie is slightly different than I anticipated using some really awesome special effects with some really dark tone to it. I thought the movie was going to be a little bit more light-hearted but that is not the case and I am definitely cool with that.
Nicolas Cage, Jay Baruchel, Monica Bellucci, Alfred Molina, Teresa Palmer and Toby Kebbell all star in this innovative and epic comedy adventure about a sorcerer and his hapless apprentice who are swept into the center of an ancient conflict between good and evil.

The first trailer for Walt Disney’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice has been released. This is the Jon Turteltaub directed (National Treasure, National Treasure: Book of Secrets) adventure/comedy starring Nicolas Cage, Jay Baruchel, Alfred Molina, Teresa Palmer, and Monica Bellucci.
While I’m a big fan of producer Jerry Bruckheimer’s movies that star Nicolas Cage (The Rock, Con Air, Gone in 60 Seconds, National Treasure), the trailer makes me quite nervous. Everything from the music to the not very good CGI left me less than impressed and the film looks like it aims very young. Saying that, if I were a twelve year old and hadn’t seen a lot of movies, maybe this trailer would excite me. Judge for yourself after the jump.
Update: Disney has provided us with three images from the film. They’re below the trailer.
Here’s the synopsis:

There goes Nicolas Cage again. Just when Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans almost had us convinced that the man hadn't forgotten how to act, and the prospect of him teaching a teen girl to kill in Kick-Ass had us wondering about a Cage resurgence, he goes and does a movie like this. Walt Disney Pictures and Apple have revealed the first trailer for The Sorcerer's Apprentice, from producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director John Turtletaub. The film stars Cage as a real-life sorcerer with some wicked cool powers (as seen in the trailer below) and Knocked Up's Jay Baruchel as his apprentice. Alfred Molina stars as an evil guy with evil powers and Teresa Palmer as an attractive girl who we can only assume steals the young man's heart. Monica Bellucci and Toby Kebbell also star. I'm hard pressed to come up with analysis at such a late hour, so »
