She's about to open the second-biggest film of her career, so what better timing than now to point you to a new peek at Kristen Stewart's next non-Twilight film? Check out the new trailer for The Yellow Handkerchief, a Sundance entry that follows three strangers in post-Katrina Louisiana - Martine (Stewart), Gordy (Eddie Redmayne), and Brett (William Hurt) -- as they search together for life, love, and the perfect Southern accent.
Ok, so it seems the Southern slangin' is done primarily by Stewart, while Brit Redmayne goes American and Hurt rocks the ex-con handlebar mustache. As they embark on a road trip together, the two teens listen to Brett's tale of the woman who got away (Maria Bello) while they navigate the murky waters of young love. (Read Erik Davis's Sundance review here.)

In truth, Kristen Stewart plays about second or third banana in the trailer for The Yellow Handkerchief, an indie drama that seems more focused on William Hurt and his character's troubled past with the woman-who-got-away (played by Maria Bello) than with the younger Stewart and costar Eddie Redmayne. I'm usually a sucker for meandering dramas like this one—which, as an added bonus, is set in post-Katrina Louisiana—but I walked away from this clip underwhelmed by the sampling of clunky dialogue. I suspect the movie is better than this trailer lets on. Thoughts? »

A look into the indie film starring Kristen Stewart, "The Yellow Handkerchief", has been shared in the form of a brand new trailer. Coming out courtesy of Apple, the two-minute sneak peek takes its focus on "a love lost in the past" and "a love struggling for a future" with glimpses of the "Twilight" star and her co-stars.
The romantic drama follows troubled teenager Martine, her new ride Gordy and recently free jailbird Brett Hanson as they embark on a journey through the lush green byways of rural Louisiana. With Martine yearning to escape her family, Gordy hoping to get closer to her and Brett having to decide whether he wants to return to the uncertainty of the life and the woman he left behind, what sets out to be a common road trip turns into an exploration of the possibility of second chances.

Can't get enough of Kristen 'Bella' Stewart? Well, her new movie The Yellow Handkerchief comes out from Samuel Goldwyn on February 12, 2010 and we have the exclusive poster premiere right here! The PG-13 rated movie also stars William Hurt, Maria Bello and Eddie Redmayne and is "a love story at its core, about three strangers of two generations bound by loneliness who reach out to one another. After embarking on a road trip through post Katrina Louisiana, their relationships forge and change in a myriad of ways, leading to the possibility of second chances." Sounds interesting and emotional, but eventually, uplifting... What do you think? Will this satisfy your Bella cravings between New Moon and Eclipse? Will you go see it when it comes out on February 12th? Could...

One tMF viewer, who is apparently a Megan Fox fan, once said 'Megan Fox is overrated as a celebrity but not as an actress.' That comment made me think: Is there really such a difference? Can't we judge someone who is a celebrity and an actress, and treat her as one and the same? She's just one person right?

- - - Here's exactly what our viewer said:
Megan Fox may be overrated as a "celebrity," but she is actually underrated, As An Actress.
She gets a ridiculously inordinate amount of criticism for her acting because the part of her career that made her famous was a part that focused on how attractive she was, not anything that could actually showcase any acting skills, »

Glorious 39 marks acclaimed filmmaker Stephen Poliakoff’s return to the big screen after twelve long years and it is an epic triumph of ambition and craft, delivering a superb and engaging thriller of duplicity and deceit on the eve of World War II.
Threatened by the impending ‘little war’ the aristocracy, fearing their way of life will be destroyed by Hitler’s army, adopt an aggressive strategy of appeasement and it is this anxiety which propels the plot of Poliakoff’s script forward. The uncertainty and tension of the late summer of 1939 is our scene and an intriguing and poignant journey into the darkness of war produces an unforgettable drama from a writer and director whose ability to illuminate the harrowing detail of betrayal and heartache has never been more potent.
The formidable cast, eager to work with Poliakoff in the first feature production for over a decade, is headed by Romola Garai, »

More from the London Film Festival, where Dave had a rather dreadful day at the movies, but I've omitted tearing apart "a new Slumdog Millionaire?", Ride the Wave Johnny (which is, can you believe it, even worse than our newest Best Picture winner), and have instead finally decided to give you my (briefer than I wanted them to be) thoughts on Cannes winner The White Ribbon. But first...
Glorious 39 isn't. Glorious, that is. In fact, it's a remarkable disaster of a film, one of those that slowly goes further and further down the road of dreadful and eventually emerges at somewhere completely laughable, although I'm sure everyone involved saw the ridiculous developments as some masterstroke. Stephen Poliakoff has received critical laudings for his television work over the last decade, but there's no sign of any of that supposed quality here at all. A superb British cast, mixing promising youngsters (Romola Garai, »
