“America’s Got Talent” viewers were shocked on Wednesday night when dog act Adrian Stoica and Hurricane was crowned as the $1 million winner. Fun fact: they are now the third act to prevail on “AGT” that did not receive a Golden Buzzer since its inception, following Shin Lim (Season 13) and Dustin Tavella (Season 16). In Gold Derby’s post-finale poll, we asked fans to vote for who Really deserved to win Season 18, and Adrian & Hurricane came in third place with 16% of the vote. The top spot went to singer Putri Ariani at 26%, followed by synchronized dancers Murmuration at 21%.
Putri is Simon Cowell‘s Golden Buzzer singer who went viral each week with her pitch-perfect voice and out-of-the-box song choices (including those by U2 and Elton John). The 17-year-old Indonesian artist was born blind, but she doesn’t let that stop her from realizing her dream of becoming a worldwide recording artist. Putri ultimately finished in fourth place,...

The 18th winner of NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” has been crowned, and it’s fan-fave dog act Adrian Stoica and Hurricane. They are the show’s second animal act to prevail after Olate Dogs 11 years earlier. (See the updated winners list.) Stoica, who previously competed on “Italia’s Got Talent” and “Romania’s Got Talent,” now sums up his “AGT” victory in three words: “crazy,” “unbelievable” and “amazing.” Watch our exclusive video interview above.
Stoica reveals he never thought he would even “be in the Finals,” let alone win the entire reality TV show. It was always his “big dream” to come try out his animal act on the American stage because it’s the “biggest in the world.” The American judges are Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara and the host is Terry Crews.

As always, it was America who voted for the winning act of the season, and the judges — Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara — merely gave color commentary from the sidelines. One by one, host Terry Crews announced which of the Top 11 acts had made it into the Top 5, and then he continued culling the talent until only one remained.

Murmuration, the synchronized dance group from France, earned Howie Mandel‘s Golden Buzzer in the auditions and instantly became a fan-favorite. Many viewers have compared the 65-member precision group to The Mayyas, the Lebanese dancers who won last season’s competition. (Heads up: The Mayyas will return to the show to perform during the Wednesday finale.)

The last performance episode of “America’s Got Talent” Season 18 aired on Tuesday, September 26 with the 11 finalists taking the stage for America’s votes. Everything seemed to be going according to plan until it came to the second act of the night, Mzansi Youth Choir. Following their high-energy performance of “My Universe” by BTS and Coldplay, Howie Mandel was booed by the live studio audience when he declared it “wasn’t [his] favorite.” Do You agree with Howie? Or were you more in the camp of Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara, who had nothing but praises for the South African chorale group? Watch the “AGT” video above.

On Wednesday night we will find out who America voted the next champion of “America’s Got Talent,” earning the chance to see their name in the big lights of Vegas. Before that happens, there are predictions and opinions to discuss about who we think Should be the winner. Eleven acts will perform one last time on Tuesday, but if you ask me, there is only one that America should send straight through to Vegas and that’s the Ramadhani Brothers.
As of this writing, the sibling danger act is not being predicted by Gold Derby as the winner and have long shot odds of 100/1. To date, eight of the 11 finalists have been named for the “America’s Got Talent” Season 18 finale, and five of them are Golden Buzzers: dance groups Murmuration and Chibi Unity, plus singing acts Putri Ariani, Lavender Darcangelo and Mzansi Youth Choir. There is still one week left to go in the Qualifiers round, and Gold Derby readers predict one additional such act will advance to the finale: singer Gabriel Henrique.
That would mean roughly half of the 2023 finalists received a confetti shower in their auditions. However, that doesn’t necessarily give them an advantage over the non-Golden Buzzer acts still in the competition: dog act Adrian Stoica and Hurricane, comedian Ahren Belisle and magician Anna DeGuzman. In fact, you don’t have to look back too far throughout “AGT” history to find an example of such an act going on to win the show.

The live shows of “America’s Got Talent” Season 18 begin on Tuesday, August 22 with the first “Qualifiers” round. In this stage of the competition, the acts sent through by the judges during the “Auditions” phase will perform again for a chance to advance to the finals. Of the 55 acts we know advanced to this round, 21 incorporate some form of singing in their overall talent. That’s over a third of the acts still in the competition, leaving us to wonder whether singing acts have a distinct advantage when it comes to the world’s biggest talent show. In terms of winners, it’s been four years since the last singer, Kodi Lee, claimed victory.

“America’s Got Talent” continued season 18 on August 8 with the final two-hour showcase of first round performances in “Auditions 9.” There are no changes to judges’ dais this summer with executive producer Simon Cowell and long-time judge Howie Mandel taking their place on the ends of the table. The confetti. The tears. The hugs. Admit it: you just can’t get enough of those emotional Golden Buzzer moments on “America’s Got Talent” … and neither can we. This twist was first introduced on the American version of the worldwide talent competition in Season 10, and it’s been an integral part of NBC’s reality TV show ever since.
Throughout the auditions, the four “AGT” judges (and the host as of Season 11) get to press the Golden Buzzer for a single act that moves them emotionally, which sends the performer straight through to the live shows. During the now-defunct Judge Cuts round, guest panelists are allowed to push the button as well for their favorite act. At the start of Season 18, Simon Cowell announced that there’d be a new audience-voted buzzer for an act that wows the crowd. Want a refresher on all of the “America’s Got Talent” Golden Buzzers through the years?...

This act came all the way from South Africa to show their talent and caught the judges off-guard by performing “It’s Ok,” a song written and originally performed by late contestant Nightbirde. Sofia called it “the perfect ‘AGT’ audition” and Howie was impressed that Nightbirde’s presence touched people all around the planet.

“America’s Got Talent” contestant Zion Clark left a remarkable imprint on the stage with his inspirational audition.
During Tuesday’s episode, the Canton, Ohio, native moved the audience and judges — Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Sofía Vergara — after sharing his emotional life story by demonstrating his unmatched athleticism.
Zion, 25, began by sharing that, since the day he was born with a “super rare” condition called caudal regression syndrome, leaving him with no legs, he’s endured several challenges in his early life.
“There’s practically nothing known about it,” he said of the rare congenital abnormality. “Aside from the fact I don’t have legs.”

“America’s Got Talent” continued season 18 on August 1 with a two-hour showcase of acts in “Auditions 8.” There are no changes to judges’ dais this summer with executive producer Simon Cowell and long-time judge Howie Mandel taking their place on the ends of the table. Heidi Klum returns as well, as does Sofia Vergara who took a break when “All-Stars” aired earlier this year. Hosting duties are entrusted to the lively Terry Crews once again.
In the audition phase of “AGT,” an act needs at least three of the four judges to give them a “yes” vote to advance to the next round. If two or more judges buzz the act, they are immediately eliminated. Each judge and Crews has one chance to hit the “golden buzzer” and send an act straight through to the live performances.

When do the “America’s Got Talent” Season 18 live shows start? Mark your calendars for Tuesday, August 22 (performance show) and Wednesday, August 23 (results show), as that’s when the first two live episodes will take place for this Summer 2023 cycle, NBC has confirmed to Gold Derby. Note that the ongoing writers’ and actors’ strikes do not affect unscripted programming, so that’s why your screens are about to be filled up with more and more reality TV shows.
As always, “AGT” judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara will be on hand to critique the live performances, with Terry Crews back as host. But the live shows are when the power officially shifts from the judging panel to You at home. Each week, viewers get to vote on their favorite contestants, and only those who receive the most votes will advance to the next round.
