Johann Pätzold, a self-taught pianist, started studying Physical Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Wedel in Hamburg in 2011. During the Balkan and Mediterranean refugee crisis, he volunteered in humanitarian efforts and in 2016, he worked on the project "Verusus" by Carl Craig and Francesco Tristano. He took over the post-production of the orchestral recordings of the Les-Siècles Orchestra conducted by François-Xavier Roth from Paris. At the same time, he released an EP titled "Monumentum" under the name Secret of Elements, which was published as a mini-album on InFiné. Pätzold advocated for the endangered Volkstheater Rostock, organized a demonstration, and lobbied at the federal level for better support of arts and culture in Germany. He wrote a letter about the refugee crisis to Chancellor Angela Merkel and Interior Minister Thomas de Maizière and was subsequently invited to the Federal Ministry of the Interior in the summer of 2017 to discuss solutions for the Mediterranean passage.
