Teens and hormones. Together, they’re responsible for the realization of any number of worst-case scenarios. Once activated, however, they’re the perfect catalyst for drama in all its permutations, up to and including writer-director Alec Tibaldi’s latest film, Lazareth (a Biblically inspired portmanteau of “Lazarus” and “Nazareth”), an efficient, economical, if somewhat predictable, survival thriller set in a post-pandemic, apocalyptic future. It’s those same pesky hormones that throw a relatively stable household into disarray, conflict, and eventually violence. Lazareth’s main selling point, Ashley Judd, essays the singularly named Lee, a single woman who unofficially adopts her two nieces, Imogen (Katie Douglas) and Maeve (Sarah Pidgeon), just as the outside world goes to the obligatory...

One of the exciting things about TV spin-offs is that there's always the potential for crossover characters and cameos, and it sounds like the upcoming "The Boys" spin-off, "Gen V," will have no shortage of them! Entertainment Weekly recently revealed that there are at least a handful of characters who will make appearances in "Gen V," ranging from some of the parent series' sillier side characters to members of The Seven themselves. The new series, which debuts later this month on Prime Video, will follow students at the prestigious Godolkin University, a college run by the villainous Vought Corporation to shape young supes into the future faces of the company. The show's collegiate setting means there probably won't be any visits from any of the Boys themselves, who try to avoid being in Vought territory if they can help it, but it doesn't exclude any of the Vought-friendly folks from showing their faces,...

Barbie may be everything, and Ken is just Ken, but what about the people in the Real World they meet along the way? In an interview with Netflix’s Tudum, series creator Laurie Nunn revealed the fourth season jumps forward a few months after the events of the season three finale.
“Maeve is in America, which is where we left her on the bus, going off to study. Returning cast members include Asa Butterfield, Gillian Anderson, Ncuti Gatwa, Aimee-Lou Wood, Emma Mackey, Connor Swindells, and Kedar Williams-Stirling. Mimi Keene, George Robinson, Chinenye Ezeudu, Dua Saleh, Alistair Petrie, Samantha Spiro,...

A polish biographical drama directed by Daniel Jaroszek that discusses the life of a criminal, Patryk Galewski (Piotr Trojan), and his rehabilitation under the observation of a priest Fr. Jan Kaczkowski (Dawid Ogrodnik), “Johnny” presents a case to comprehend and defend whether there it’s possible to change human nature. The plays of Shakespeare have proven that human nature cannot be changed or that it remains constant. You can consider ambitious Macbeth, indecisive Hamlet, or jealous Iago; from the start to the end, these characters remain the same. Although geneticists have given us reason to believe that there is a possibility of changing human nature, there are plenty of pieces of evidence that even after having been ruled since 1949, the Chinese personality hasn’t changed from individualistic to communitarian. But psychologist Robert Kurzban gave us a ray of hope that human nature can be introduced to a different perspective and allowed to nurture that perspective.

In a media landscape saturated with superheros, one show manages to stand out from the rest. Eric Kripke's "The Boys" follows a ragtag group of human vigilantes in a world where superheroes are not only real, but just as flawed as the rest of us. The Prime Video series is bursting with super-abled people, each of whom possesses a unique set of powers. The fun of the series lies in not only watching what these "supes" can do, but seeing how they inevitably use their abilities for mischief and debauchery.
However, while they're incredibly fun, these powers can be hard to fathom; some are downright confounding. A supe called Termite (Brett Geddes), for example, loses control of his ability to miniaturize when he sneezes, while a hero named Love Sausage (Andrew Jackson) has no discernable power aside from amplified control of his massive ... appendage. And these examples are merely the tip of the iceberg.
