Actor and New York native Robert De Niro clashed with pro-Trump protesters outside of the former president’s criminal hush-money trial in Manhattan on Tuesday.
The legendary actor was tapped by the Biden-Harris campaign to provide counter-messaging to the constant stream of Trump allies who have used the trial as a gathering point to broadcast the former president’s messaging.
“Donald Trump doesn’t belong in my city,” De Niro said. “We New Yorkers used to tolerate him when he was just another grubby real estate hustler masquerading as a big shot.

When 1980’s Airplane! proved to be a massive hit, becoming one of the highest-grossing films of the year – up there with The Empire Strikes Back and Best Picture winner Kramer vs. Kramer – it was inevitable that it would get a sequel. Tonight’s CMT Music Awards show will endeavor to emphasize what’s currently flameworthy, to borrow a word that has long since been retired from the telecast’s original name. Prime performance slots have been given to country music figures who are still on the ascent, from still-fairly-freshly-minted superstars Jelly Roll and Lainey Wilson to up-and-comers who really seem fresh out of the oven, like Megan Moroney and TikTok sensation Dasha.

Delta said in a statement: “Out of respect for the ongoing aviation authority investigation of this incident, Delta will refrain from commenting on this matter but will confirm that this First Officer is no longer employed at Delta.”
Dunn had been charged with interfering with the crew on this flight.
Delta’s inspector general’s office stated that “the indictment alleges that, on or about August 22, 2022, Dunn, the crew’s First Officer, interfered with the performance of a crew member by using a dangerous weapon to assault and intimidate the Captain.”

If it seems like the music industry is facing a moment of reckoning — this month, lawsuits were filed against Sean “Diddy” Combs, music mogul L.A. Reid and ex-Grammys CEO Neil Portnow — it might be, but it’s likely that these cases are making headlines all at once because a New York law that suspends time constraints on claims involving alleged sex offenses is about to expire.
All three of those high-profile cases were filed under New York’s Adult Survivors Act, which opened a one-year lookback period during which civil claims that would have otherwise been barred by the statute of limitations could be filed.
The window opened on Nov. 24, 2022 — E. Jean Carroll’s defamation suit against former President Donald Trump was amended almost immediately to include a sexual abuse claim — and it closes at midnight on Thursday.

CBS’s Big Brother Season 25 finally saw the breakup of the Fields family. When Cirie and Jared Fields first entered the game as a mother-and-son couple, I thought the producers might want to do everything they could to protect their gameplay and move them forward in the competition. But Jared hurt his own gameplay on several occasions. And his use of a slur certainly didn’t help. Here’s what Jared said about using slurs after eviction from the Big Brother house.
‘Big Brother’ 25 houseguest Jared Fields apologized for using a slur in the house
Fans of Big Brother — myself included — felt shocked when Jared Fields uttered a slur on the live feeds in season 25. Jared made it clear that he knew the live feeds ran 24/7 for audience entertainment, and production previously removed Luke Valentine from the season for saying a racist slur. After Luke’s dismissal, I was...

Brian Dunne’s Loser on the Ropes is one of the sleeper albums of the year, a collection of melodic yet punky dissertations on finding the perseverance to grow old — if not up. “The Kids Are All Grown,” about facing your inner child, is a standout, but its sharp arrangement on the album leans more toward The Cars than the vulnerable vibes Dunne projects when he plays it live.

It is no secret that technology now advances rapidly and dramatically, constantly changing the pace at which we’re able to process our surroundings, perspective, and experiences—as well as the way we reflect those experiences back at others. After nearly a century of being an elite, expensive pursuit, tech has made filmmaking an accessible medium for everyone. And during this year’s Global Media Makers LA Residency, five international filmmakers had the opportunity to explore the city through short films made in the annual iPhone Collaborative Workshop—using nothing but an iPhone 14 and their own unique POVs.
Global Media Makes (Gmm) is, of course, a cultural exchange program, supported through a partnership between Film Independent and the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Crystal Dunn is a star on the soccer field, but at home, she's settling into life as a mom. The athlete welcomed her first child, a baby boy named Marcel Jean Soubrier, in 2022 with husband Pierre Soubrier, and her life has changed for the better since then. "I feel like I'm a better athlete now, being a mom, because I have learned to really appreciate every little moment," she told Just Women's Sports in July 2023. "Every pass, every tackle, just every moment I'm on the field I think I look at differently."
While Dunn told the outlet that she thinks she'll be best remembered for her ability to play multiple positions, it's seeing her family in the stands that will forever be embedded in her own memory. "Being able to see my son in the stands has been the biggest joy of it all, just knowing that you know I'm...

Catching Killers season 3 premiered on June 23 on Netflix.
In previous seasons, the true crime documentary series explored infamous murders such as The Happy Face Killer, Btk, and the Phoenix Serial Shooter. Now the latest season dives into the stories of four new killers: the Railroad Killer, the New York Zodiac Killer, the Olympic Park Bomber and the D.C. Sniper.
However, the Netflix series is not the first time these serial killers have been looked at by the media. If you want to know where to find more information about each of these four cases, here is where you can look.
Railroad Killer
Angel Maturino Reséndiz, also known as the Railroad Killer is suspected of killing at least 23 people across the United States and Mexico in the 1990s. Before voluntarily surrendering himself to law enforcement in 1999, Reséndiz was on the FBI’s Top 10 Most Wanted list. He also featured on the show America’s Most Wanted.

This year’s Stagecoach Festival was a love letter to country music’s past and a nod to its wide-open future. While the festival — the genre’s largest, most rollicking reunion that takes place in California’s low desert the week after Coachella — was sparse on guest appearances (no Axl Rose, this time), the level of showmanship and raw talent was high.

TikTok’s CEO faced intense scrutiny from Congress’s Energy and Commerce Committee on Thursday as the U.S. government continues to mull a potential ban or forced sale of the social media platform over privacy and security concerns.
For more than four hours, CEO Shou Chew faced probing questions from the bipartisan Congressional committee. The committee focused on TikTok and parent company ByteDance’s potential links to the Chinese Communist Party, but also zeroed in on content TikTok promotes that they say could be harmful to minors who use the app.

Shou Zi Chew‘s visit to Capitol Hill delivered plenty of fireworks. During a five-hour appearance before the House Energy & Commerce Committee, the TikTok CEO repeatedly sparred with Congressional regulators and insisted that his company is capable of protecting the user data of American citizens.
If you missed the hearing, we’re here to catch you up. Here are some of the main themes that came up repeatedly during Chew’s contentious testimony:
Congress isn’t convinced by Project Texas
As TikTok looks to avoid the stateside ban that would be facilitated by the recently-proposed Restrict Act, it has urged the U.S. government to adopt the security deal known as Project Texas. In front of Congress, Chew stated that Project Texas would provide vital safeguards for U.S. user data.

Bold, colorful, often playful strokes, grounded in character, culture, and period detail, wrapped in an effortless elegance and sense of taste — costume designer John Dunn is one of the most distinctive visual storytellers working in television today. Having come up in the New York film world, working with directors like Martin Scorsese (“Casino”), Jim Jarmusch (“Ghost Dog”), John Sayles (“City of Hope”), Julian Schnabel (“Basquiat”), Jonathan Glazer (“Birth”), and Todd Solondz (“Storytelling”), and after doing the pilot of “Mad Men” for Matthew Weiner, Dunn followed Scorsese into the world of peak TV with the HBO series “Vinyl” and “Boardwalk Empire” — demonstrating his knack for elegant period style and, like he did in “Casino,” capturing, celebrating, and commenting on the excessive of characters at the center of acute cultural moments. Prestige TV has all too often become synonymous with historical recreation, yet no artisan has used their craft to open the...
